I'd previously been a CVS acolyte, not out of any special loyalty, but simply due to their ubiquity. This changed with a recent health scare my wife experienced. I ran all over the Oceanside/Baldwin/Freeport area looking for a pharmacy which carried what I thought to be a fairly common piece of medical equipment. And after my fourth mega-pharmacy visit, it dawned on me. CVS, Walgreens, Rite-Aid and the like are not in the pharmacy business. They are nothing more than convenience stores which fill prescriptions. Finally, after giving up nearly all hope of finding what I needed, I stopped into this small store and was immediately greeted by a young man behind the counter who eagerly and sincerely asked if I needed assistance. In a mega pharmacy, you can barely get the clerks to put down their cell phones long enough to look at you, let alone do it with authenticity. This man directed me to the pharmacist, a middle aged woman who patiently went through the THREE options of the equipment I needed. After going through all the features, she told me to go with the cheapest one since the primary functions of all three were basically the same. When I returned home that night, I told my wife we were moving all our prescriptions to Health Mart. No looking back.

However, when I arrive at CVS, the prescriptions are still not ready, and I'm asked to wait another 20 minutes... It seems like several people are working there, but without clear order or structure, I genuinely dread the days I need to go & pick up medications. Additionally, when calling the pharmacy, most of the time, no one answers. They seem to be constantly backed up, and the automated system frequently directs me to call back later or leave a voicemail... Overall, the service feels truly unprofessional.

Called it into Rite Aid while I was there. Printed out goodex coupons for it and I was out of the office by about 5:30 to take the pup home. Around 8:30 I went over to pick it up. They asked the info and I gave it to them and then they said no one ever called it in. I assured them I watched them and they again said no one called it in and then kinda acted as if it was all over. I explained this is a life and death situation and that they did indeed call it in because I was there. The younger woman said she checked at 6 and there was no message. Again, I was long gone from the vet by then and it was absolutely called in. After a bit of back and forth they informed me they are out of stock anyway. Then informs me that they have it Brooklyn if I can make it. Assuming this guy has ever left the block rite aid is on he must know very well I wasn't making it. I emailed my vet and she called me immediately and said she had a few at the office and could give me some until we had a new plan. She also informed me that the call on her log was way before 6:00 and that the secretary logged it at 6:02 and that's done later at the end of the day with other calls. I race to Huntington when the same man calls and says he found the generic pills if i could make it back in time. The place closes in 10 minutes.... I'm almost in Huntington driving 80mph. I tell him I'm calling my wife who is nearby and he again says "as long as she is here by 9" insinuating that, despite this all being the fault of the two of them, he wasn't waiting. My wife thankfully made it. The sheer awfulness, dishonesty, lack of compassion and sympathy shown by these two was astounding. To look a guy in the face who is there only to try to save his dogs life and call him liar essentially over a phone in order time because they clearly didn't check is abhorrent. I can't even fathom the poor people who come in with emergencies for people. I couldn't have envisioned being treated like that at a pharmacy. I can't imagine how these two "people" are trusted with the health of other living things. I'm absolutely sickened by the experience I had there. I'd say do better but I don't think they are able to and doubt they would care to if they could. I expect nothing more from this than rite aid giving a generic bs response but if you need a pharmacy and it's important.... DONT COME HERE

It makes a huge difference to go to a store you're familiar with when you're traveling. It's not easy to review a location on one visit but I feel like I have been to enough CVS locations to give an opinion on this store. This store follows the same path as the all the other stores. It's big and bright on the inside and the building has easy access in and out, plenty of parking. One thing that was how helpful everyone was there. Always greeted with a smile and a hello. I like the CVS chain and this store demonstrates their commitment to their customers. I absolutely recommend the CVS chain. I came here specifically to purchase some greeting cards. I'm unsure if the pharmacy is short staffed or does not have well trained employees. unfortunately I take medication on a daily basis and if I don't take them on time I go through a physical withdrawal and my previous prescription wasnt filled with the proper amount which affected me greatly. this pharmacy take hours to fill prescriptions, it doesn't matter if my doctor sent in a refill first thing in the morning, it will take them till the evening to be ready. they're customer service skills need improvement because whenever I express concern, Communication is returned with rudeness. if I call them I could be on hold anywhere from 15-30 mins. today I had to call the front end of the store to please get me in touch with some and when I finally got through to someone I was given an attitude. they also misspelled my last name and I requested for them twice to correct it in the system and it's still not properly spelled. it has been 2 years of bad experience with them and I unsure how management let this behavior go on for this long.
