What a cute location. The inside is really clean and vibrant. The portions are huge and the hoagie was really delicious! The fries have a great old bay seasoning on top of them and served with a good amount of ketchup. The prices are a little high for some of the things, but you can definitely get a good meal here. Lots of amazing choices for Vegans and even a few for those who are GF! I went with the Chickpea Pasta Alfredo (GF). It was piping hot when I picked it up! The portion size was HUGE. I definitely was not prepared and it was wayyyy too much for me to eat by myself. As the pasta started to cool, the oil really began to separate in the sauce. I got a bit concerned about eating that much oil in one sitting, so I stopped eating it. I thought I would save the leftovers for another day, but unfortunately the sauce was so separated, I didn't think it would be any good. It had turned into soup with a lot of noodles. What can be better than a fully vegan place with delicious food, friendly staff and very welcoming and amazing owner. We've had an opportunity to try their soup of the day (potato mushroom ginger), it was delicious. We've ordered two sandwiches to share, BLT with sweet potato fries and Cheesesteak Hoagie with house fries. The BLT was very good, jest needed more mayo/sauce as it was a little dry, the sweet potato fries were home made and delicious. Sriracha mayo that comes with them was super good. The Philly was amazing, the "meat" was cooked perfectly, but too salty. House fries super good, nicely seasoned. I got cinnamon crunch cake and muffin to go. Both were very good. The owner came out couple of times, and was talking to customers, super friendly. Respect for him being both the owner and the chef. Hard work for sure. I wish him all the best. Odd, no signage or brunch menus around, but it was a beautiful day so I walked somewhere nearby and came back. Service was great, though minimal (order at counter and they bring it out.) Interesting menu, and everyone seems to love the cheesesteak, but I wasn't feeling it and got the Buddha bowl. Rice, corn, beans, avocado, tomatoes, bbq jackfruit. Came out looking great. Big serving, fresh ingredients, a great blend of flavors and textures. Plus a big side of crispy, lightly seasoned fries that I didn't expect. My wife and I stopped by CBIV after our son's graduation before beginning our 8-hour drive home, and we're so glad we did. I'm not vegan myself, but my wife is, so we wanted to find a place we could both enjoy. Since I usually eat light while traveling, I only ordered fries -- but they turned out to be some of the best fries I've ever had. My wife ordered the "chicken" sandwich, and it was excellent as well. What really made the experience stand out was the hospitality. The owner, Clayton, personally came over to introduce himself and share his passion for the food. He was friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. He even let us sample the collard greens, cornbread, and pineapple upside-down cake, all of which were absolutely delicious. Our waitress, whom I believe was named Anna, was attentive, kind, and made us feel right at home. To top it all off, the restaurant had one of the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen. I visited this place about a month ago with a friend of mine for her birthday brunch. Let's start with the good stuff. The place was neat, cute and clean. The menu is on a pricy side but what we had was great. I had the salad which was really refreshing, full of flavors with different textures -if I could make salad like this, I'd eat it everyday! My friend enjoyed her sandwich as well. For food, I highly recommend. The reason why it took me a while to leave my review is...I have some mixed feelings about this place. So now onto the not so good part- when we walked in, I saw the big sign by the counter with no staff (see my pic). There were 3 people waiting in front of us. We waited over 45 minutes just to get our order taken. Since this was our first time visiting this place, I'm not sure if this is a usual thing for here or they could be experiencing staff shortage. I am all for supporting small/local business but this is still a place of business which should have a certain standard (in my opinion). But at the same time, they have the right to run their business however they would like and I feel like I'm being unfair or mean by taking some stars off for this. Also, while we were waiting, someone came in and started to say, "hello? ... hello?" And they ended up knocking on the kitchen door (they might have even opened it, I'm not sure). At that point, the chef came out and screamed at them. The chef was telling them off (not cursing though) in a very loud voice. I don't know the whole story, maybe the chef was stressed out, maybe this person comes everyday just to ask for water, I don't know. But it just wasn't pleasant. The wait time itself is enough for me to hesitate going back there again. 2 customers (1 who was waiting before me and 1 who came after me) left because of the wait. It also wasn't a good feeling to not be acknowledged for such a long period of time. I know they put the sign up so that no staff would have to go back and forth but I still think someone should have come out just to greet or say they would be with you shortly. One last thing- the place is in a strip mall so they gave a decent size parking lot if but I'd do busy since there is a BMV in the same mall. Returned two weeks later: Craved that cheesesteak sandwich for 14 days straight after devouring it on my first visit. Let me tell you, It was even better than I remembered!!! This time in we got to meet Clayton, the owner. He is also the chef and let me tell you his soul lights up the room with positivity and friendliness. We enjoyed talking to him about his vegan journey. He gave us samples of their mac n cheese which is rich and creamy, a little smokey, yet no dairy at all. He also gave us a sample of his greens. Oooooh, I tell you.... I might need to order a lot of that! So good! For my birthday, he gave me the most wonderful vegan blueberry bar that he baked with his hands. Delish! Thank you, but the greatest gift is this restaurant, which he shares with all of Columbus. So, if you are curious about vegan food this is the BEST place to go as they have honed their craft and I can seriously say there is something here that will appeal to everyone. Having said that, we don't need any more than the best one there named " can't believe it's vegan" chef Clayton knows his craft and his customers. Everything is delicious and the restrooms and restaurant are kept very clean! The parking is free, the food is reasonably priced and getting there is easy we have often eaten at 4th & State which we really enjoy. We think the waffles here are better, and it's a lot closer to where we live so we will definitely be coming back! Cooked to order, the menu has a great variety. For the pastas, there are two dishes with marinara., the CIBV Lasagna Rolls and the Angel Hair Spicy Sausage Pasta. Two dishes are marinara free. I tried the Angel Hair Chick'n Pasta, which was fantastic. It has minimal oil sauce that lets the vegetables shine. I've tried the Chickpea Pasta Alfredo, also a nice choice, and by the way, pasta dishes come with a delicious roll. The place is very clean with a minimalist ambiance and tasteful music. There's two sets of tables with chairs outside. The bathroom even has feminine care products. They also sell t-shirts, coffee mugs, and water bottles. We were here for a visit back in early February. My husband and I enjoy eating more vegan foods. However our children are a hit or miss. Yet, our 3 children all loved it. The chef was very warm. His sister came in and she was also very kind. The young guy who took our orders stayed on top of making sure we had all that we needed. Top notch customer service. The food was beyond amazing. I personally had to try everyone's food. Everything was good. I ended up only tasting my own and ate the rest the next day. I'm just sad that I couldn't bring this restaurant back home with me with it being 6 hours away. The chef even gave our children especially our 13 year daughter wonderful words of wisdom. Super good! I'm so happy to see a good vegan restaurant here! Someone else had commented about the cheesesteak so I had to try it and it was exactly as she described, delicious including the fries! It just goes to show with the right ingredients, the right chef and a little time and effort it is possible to have a delicious, hardy meal without the slaughter of any living creature. Great menu, great (friendly) chef and a nice location. Not a big staff I'm guessing so there may be a little wait time but where isn't there these days except a drive-thru. We're so happy that this place has a brick and mortar restaurant. We tried the BBQ jackfruit sandwich and the nuggets with jerky sauce. Fries were good. Sandwich was outstanding! Just a little sad that it was small. Nuggets were really good but wish they had other sauces. Maybe they ran out. Only choices were BBQ and jerky. Jerky was good but not what I was craving. Look, I can't lie, the food is usually great. Just don't ask homie any questions or he might snap . I literally only asked if I could sub the fries on an order for the Mac and cheese because they are the same price on their own ($7), and he said "no, they are not the same price". I then said "yes they are, it says on your menu $7". He responded "it's my place and I'm saying no you can't do that". Idk what he went through to become like that but that's no excuse when you run a business. Let's see so I was in the area and this place popped up so I decided to check it out. Usually when I go in to a restaurant and I see no one inside I run! However, I decided stay and order. Full vegan menu with a lot of delicious options. I had gotten so used to only having 1-2 vegan options at restaurants that I struggle to narrow down to just one dish. The BLT is fantastic, although the sauce makes it a little messy (I didn't mind, but it's worth mentioning). I love the sweet potato fries as well. The vegan cheesecake blew my mind. Not much seating, but has been mostly full the times that I have been (typically at off times), and customers coming in frequently for pickup orders, so they're clearly doing something right. Only downside is that the service can be a little slow when dining in. If you're looking to try it out, I recommend ordering ahead and picking up. Cute little place in a strip. It's very clean and bright itself. We were so overwhelmed having a place where EVERYTHING is vegan on the menu that we took a while to pick. He ended up getting the buffalo ch'cken sandwich with fries ($18) while I had a chickpea alfredo pasta with dinner roll ($17). Menu was large and easy to read on the wall. They even had some specials going on. The cashier gave us free samples of their soup of the day. It was good so he also got a small bowl of it (think they said avocado bean soup) that came with cornbread ($9). Pretty much everything is made in house. There was a cooler with drinks and desserts, but we just had glasses of water from the dispenser (free). Plenty of seating. Bathrooms are single person ones with a cute sign I wish I took a pic of, it had images for handicap, male, female, nonbinary, and alien with a caption of "whatever, just please wash your hands". They had hygiene products and lotion in the bathroom too. The chef came out routinely or worked the register, very friendly and chatted. Reusable silverware and dishes. Portions were generous so we were way too full for the delicious sounding desserts. His buffalo burger was spicy just as he likes and was very thick. My pasta was way heavier garlic than I like, but it was still good and now know. If you love garlic then try their pasta. The take home box I got was cardboard so love the sustainability. Only weird part of the restaurant was that the plants were fake, forgot to ask why not real? We plan on going back. It was maybe 15 minutes from the polaris mall so we'll be back sooner than later.
