    venue

Just recently had my wedding here. I was appreciative this venue was the only venue opened after my prior venue cancelled 2.5 months prior to my wedding. Now I had the pleasure to talk to Chris the owner. Nice over the phone but in person too many requisites. All my vendors had a tuff time they commented they never ever delt with such difficulty of personality. If you do have your venue here please be ready for feedback on what they prefer. It became more stressful than what it should have been. No kids requested. Chris gave her opinions when they were not asked for. She wanted us to use her vendors only. At this point it felt like she wanted to plan my wedding and at some point caused me so much anxiety I had regretted my decision. $2500 (non refundable) Now! if you do have your venue here her preference was not to exceed 120ppl and use only vendors with ventura county health permits. La permits or other counties won't count for her eventhough I confirmed with the county based on private events. So save yourself the headaches. Lastly eventhough chris was accomodating in other areas I wish my experience at first was great but it's hard to say when certain comments were made. Some people just don't have the customer service or either racism hard to tell. My wedding guests all commented how chris couldn't handle the bar, she made rude comments or cut people off at 3 drinks and she closed the bar and beyond rude to all our guests. This has NEVER happened to me with any venue I have ever been to. Sadly they are NOT prepared for large events AT ALL. Maybe the type of guests we had? hard to tell why she was like this. They defenitely loved the location but hated the service unfortunately coming from over 18'guests you know that's an issue. Day of my wedding I continued getting messages knowingly we confirmed all within the week. I would say this venue isn't prepared for weddings. Has a lot of potential and I hate to put a business down but some people belong in the back doing paperwork and others such as chris's husband he was behond welcoming and so kind. If he took care of this side of their business I can see it thriving much much more but I would'nt do a wedding or event here again. Unfortunately! I was really looking forward to seeing a better side of the business reason why i held back on writing a review. 2 starts because my son enjyed their pizza, the venue is beautiful with potential and chris's hubsand has top tier customer service.

The live music here is the best part about this spot. What a fun area for a weekend night! Do not come here expecting good food. I would suggest getting a snack here and a meal elsewhere. The drinks here were good and worth it. The service was good as well and brought our food out in a timely manner. Get your dancing shoes on!!

Do you enjoy wine? Do you like beer? How about good food? Camarillo Barrel Works has all those with plenty of seating to offer. This gem in Camarillo is tucked away in an unassuming business park and the photos of the inside don't do it justice. We decided to drop by for a wine tasting and found out that both Cantara Cellers and Flat Fish Brewing live here. Our server was friendly and we had a good time but only really liked the 'Mischievous' off the tasting. Happy to revisit and try new wines, the beer, and the food next time! Bonus - they are a dog friendly patio! - J

Really cool spot. I will be coming back for the live music. The owners are really nice and make you feel like family. They were very sweet to my son, can't wait to come back!

I've passed by Cantara Cellars many times and finally stopped in for a tasting. They really have everything for everyone: wine, beer, cocktails, food, and live performances on some nights. They have indoor and outdoor seating and can even host tastings in their barrel room on a really busy day. I chose the wine flight which was 3oz of any 3 wines for $24. There were 11 wines to choose from and I picked the 2022 Pinot Grigio, 2018 Rose, and 2021 Pinot Noir. They also had a fairly big menu of "shareables" (artisan flatbread, wings, charcuterie platter, etc), bbq (tri-tip or pulled pork) and even dessert (brownies and cookies). You could even get tri-tip or pulled pork topped tots which I did! It was a lot of food which was good for me since I hadn't yet had lunch and I later got a brownie to take home - also delish. As for the wines, I liked that I was able to design my own flight and Chris (who was pouring for me) gave me some suggestions. I was a big fan of the rose and took a bottle of that home. I also tried their Moscato, suggested by Michelle who also helped me that day, and it was very refreshing and not overly sweet, which a lot of moscatos can be. I'd like to go back and try some of their other wines, and the beer and cocktails, when I get the chance. As for parking, there's a small lot (it's ok to park where the "reserved for barrel works" signs are) and there's street parking. On the day I was there it wasn't very busy so I had an easy time finding a place to park but on nights when they have live music, it could probably be hard to find a parking spot. If you're in the area, I suggest checking Cantara Cellars out.

First time visiting and me and my girlfriends were treated with such amazing customer service! We were given multiple options to enjoy their delicious wine, by having flights, a glass or just popping bottles! Very spacious inside and with the barrels it just adds an extra touch!

11/100 Yelp Review Challenge Los Angeles You have wineries and then, you have wineries. Located in Camarillo you'll find Cantara Cellars. Owned and operated by a family whose grapes come from the central CA area (maybe out by Paso Robles, I'm a horrible student and wasn't paying clear attention to the presentation). They do their own wine making and with a modest production, you can find their award wining varietals in their home town of Camarillo. You can find discounts for the wine tasting on Groupon. With the wine tasting you are offered a nice charcuterie which paired nice with the wine offerings. You also have the opportunity to join their wine club. My journey and visit to Cantara was special because we had a visit from Santa. We had photo ops with Santa and the local canine came in dressed to the nines to get a pic with Santa. Back to the wine= nice, clean, flavorful. Moderately priced and best of all, served by a great family; husband, wife and son. I purchased a nice red blend that went well with my New Year's dinner. Easy access on and off the 101; parking plentiful!

We went here a couple weeks ago to see Katie Shorey perform. I was very impressed with how everything was handled during the pandemic . It was outdoors under a umbrella... There was approximately 42 seats, & the tables were placed 6-8' apart. The outdoor 'stage' was far enough away for everyone to feel safe but close enough to still have a good experience.. Chris, the manager, did a wonderful job of sitting this up. It's nice to be able to go out & still feel safe.. My fiancé really loved the blond ale while I was drinking a red blend.. Sorry I can't remember the name 'Mrs' something. They had a bbq food truck there too.. it was Ventura BBQ.. we enjoyed a tri tip sandwich & Mac & cheese..

We were staying in the area overnight to attend a CIF game and wanted to stop in to a local winery for a bite to eat and taste new wine selections... thank you yelp for helping us find Cantara Cellars! Ed welcomed us right in and it just so happened to be their anniversary celebration complete with a great crowd and live music. We are completely impressed with this family run, thoughtful venture that not only has delicious wines but also impressive home crafted brews. Your hospitality and service were stellar and we will make a oint of coming back for another visit and sharing your info with our friends!

Cantara is a great winery that makes great wines! The owners and workers here are all very nice and friendly, and the pours are generous. I've always had great experiences here and have never left disappointed. Parking is free, easy, and abundant. I highly recommend their Malbec and their Mischievous wines, but really they all taste pretty damn good. I've never tasted a wine here that I didn't enjoy. If you are a big wine drinker, or simply enjoy tasting, this is definitely a place to try. I highly recommend. Their wines have great flavor, and are excellent quality.

Back Patio Cellars feels like you've just meandered into Frank & Jen's backyard, and they invite you to stay awhile to try some cider/wine. This is definitely their passion project, and it shows in how they talk about their ciders/wine and enjoy sharing with people. It's located in a business park where they have what seems like a traditional tasting room with a few tables, a "living room" with comfortable seats and a couch surrounded by their barrels, and a "patio" outside with covered seating. We opted for a cider tasting, and as someone who was a little wary, because I don't have much of a sweet tooth, I was so excited to hear that their style is on the drier side. These hard ciders are dangerously good... refreshing, delicately flavored, and you wouldn't even know that they're packed with a high ABV. We tried the Apple, Black Berry Pie, Golden Kiwi, Guava, Blood Orange, and Key Lime. My favorite was the guava and my SO's was the Black Berry Pie. These are perfect for warm weather, and you can even take cans or growlers to go! As for food, there are some snacks available for purchase, and folks are welcome to bring their own snacks (uh, charcuterie plate, anyone?) except when there's a food truck. Jen mentioned that they don't have a cider club just yet, but they do have a wine club. We're definitely planning on coming back for a wine tasting very soon, see ya there!

Much to my surprise, it was about as lively as I had remembered it. The Alley was established during Covid times and offered a retreat to escape from the humdrum of the homestead. These days, its friendly vibe welcomes neighbors and visitors with a backyard setting strewn with twinkle lights and family-style tables. It's a causal scene and easy to soak in the live music, sunlight/moonlight, and neighborly banter. The layout resembles an alley with shops on either side, big open doors invite you to grab something to eat, sample a drink, or shop for handmade gifts. On one side, you've got craft brews and coffee roasters. On the other side, it's local wines and piping hot pizzas. Dogs are welcome all around. At the center of it all, there's live music on the weekends. Modeled after a Beer & Wine Garden concept, The Alley features Enegren Brewery (beer), Lucas Sellers (wine), California Coffee Republic (java), Fire & Vice (pizza), and The Craft House (non-alcoholic tchotchkes). As a self-proclaimed wino, I opted for a sampling of the Lucas Sellers Wines. Ashley, who was behind the bar and top of the pours, gave me good suggestions and offered anecdotes about each wine on tap. At the end of the night, my light pinot paired perfectly with the Mushroom Arugula pizza from Fire & Vice. And I felt right at home, surrounded by friends.

One of my favorite draws about Herzog overall is that's is 100% vegan friendly as well as kosher, making it suitable for so many people. And Tierra Sur is very vegan friendly - some dishes are vegetarian. Do let they know about allergies and restrictions and they'll do their absolute best to accommodate. We were given a wine list and we were able to choose six wines to wine taste from the list. My absolute favorite wines were between the Special Reserve Merlot 2023 Alexander Valley and the Sonoma Loeb Dignitary Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma. These were both excellent and smooth, however, ALL the wines that I taste tested were phenomenal. We also ordered the garlic fries, the buffalo chicken sandwich, and the Mushroom Arancini. I personally loved the Mushroom Arancini the most, very flavorful and perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The chicken sandwich was a good portion and easy to share. The garlic fries did not taste very garlicy to me, the creamy sauce on top I wasn't sure if that was supposed to be garlic, but I probably would just get the regular fries next time.
