Left to right: Pineapple Coconut Marg, Day of the Dead Cocktail

This was a nice spur of the moment dinner during our last week in Simpsonville. I had a double Day of the Dead that was made perfectly. The service was nice as we had a good chat with our server about drink preferences and the food came out very quickly. The ambience of this specific shot is still more of a hole in the wall as it's at the tail end of a shopping center that gets a lot of traction from the Publix and Target in the area. Nice find!

My bestie and I are always down for some good tacos and tequila! I've been to the Tipsy Taco in Clemson, SC, but this location had somewhat of a different vibe. I was a little thrown off by the service. Our waiter was young and slightly inexperienced.. He even went missing for about 10 minutes because he said the manager asked him to run to Publix for some ingredients. Other than the awkward service, the food was good & the drinks were delicious! We ended up ordering 3 separate margarita flights because they were so good. I wouldn't label this place as 'authentic', but it is a definitely a restaurant with a variety of items to enjoy. They are slightly pricey, but they serve decent portions.

Great food! Was easy for the server say yes to accommodations for the food. The tacos were very good! The chips are airy & the queso is amazing. All seems very fresh. The place seems a little understaffed for a Saturday, but regardless we enjoyed ourselves. Restaurants is filled with awesome colors and art. Will come back!

I love this spot and don't know how it possibly couldn't have all 5 stars! The service is great and always super fast. I've tried a bunch of different tacos and the shrimp quesadilla. So far, the birria tacos (not pictured) take the cake! The guac and queso are amazing as well.

Updating to say that we lived in that area for 7 months and Tipsy Taco was our go-to taco joint. Always consistent, always friendly and always well staffed. We're going to miss them for sure! Wishing they had a location in our new town.

Our waiter Kobi was awesome!!!!! Great energy! I always get the mushroom quesadilla and the street corn. Of course, I always have a shot of the pineapple-infused tequila!!!

I originally wanted to come here for their brunch but did not make it so my husband and I decided to give this place a try for lunch. I have heard about Tipsy taco but have never been in one. They have an amazing beer selection which helped it reach the 3 stars. We ordered a queso starter and then tacos as our entree. Both were ok. I love me some tacos and queso but these lacked... flavor. Maybe a little seasoning could assist? If you are a sports and beer lover, this would be the place to go to enjoy both. They have TVs everywhere.

Came here for a solo dinner on a Friday and the place didn't disappoint. There's an extensive list of tequilas to choose from and a small space for outdoor seating. I started with the chips and salsa and the salsa was excellent. Not too much spice but it did have some heat and for me, it was perfect. The queso could have been a little hotter but I understand how cheese can burn if kept too hot. The menu definitely had a lot of taco selections to choose from but I opted for the taco salad with chicken. The chicken wasn't dry, but very moist and seasoned. And there was a lot of chicken. It was loaded and filling- enough for two helpings. The overall atmosphere was fun and inviting and I would visit again.

Service was very slow today and it was not busy. Drink from bar was good. The food was average.

Food came out quickly, attentive staff, solid food for the price. More of a sports bar vibe, which is fine but can get a little loud

Food is terrible. Taco meat had no flavor. Pineapple dish was awful. Rice had no taste and shrimp were dried out.

It's always a treat when great service elevates the whole dining experience, and David absolutely did that. Even on National Margarita Day! We ordered the house margarita, the birria taco, and a side of rice, and everything hit the spot. The margarita was refreshing and well-balanced, the birria was tender and flavorful, and even the rice had that comforting, homemade feel that rounds out a meal perfectly. Between the warm service and the tasty food, El Cielo is definitely a spot I'll return to. A great night from start to finish.

The first time, I was alone, this trip, I was accompanied by my wife. This is important because she has an eye for so many different things than I do, such as the nice, clean, updated decor; the music was unobtrusive and pleasant, it is an open space that "a group of women would like." For me, it looks like a great bar area to watch a game on a relaxed weekend day or night with great drink options and tasty food. I would imagine this is a great happy hour bar, but not a loud kind, just a comfortable space with plenty of options. But, we were here for lunch. I ordered the chicken tinga crispy Mexican flautas: Crispy Mexican-Style flautas stuffed with Tinga chicken, topped with El Cielo sauce and house dressing, served with rice, beans, sour cream and lettuce. It was delicious....again. No wonder it is one of their most popular dishes. The flautas are rolled, fried tortillas with filling, sometimes called a tacquito, although technically a flauta is supposed to be a bit larger than a tacquito. Nevertheless, they were crispy and the accompanying sauces were drizzled over the top. This is not only a great presentation but is tasty enough that no other condiments. The tinga chicken is shredded with a spicy (flavor not heat) tomato, onion, garlic, chipotle pepper sauce. Served with a side of rice, refried beans and shredded lettuce with sour cream. This is a go to dish. My wife ordered the taco salad, as usual, however, not as usual, this one was declared as the best taco salad she has ever been served. The chicken in the salad seemed to be the same tinga chicken as in the flautas - so that is a good reason for this flavor. The salsa bar has about 10 choices including on for children that is mild. We tried five - the regular red salsa, the mango pineapple chunky salsa, the verde tomatilla, the spicy creamy verde and the warm, slightly spicy bean dip that comes with the chips. All were great. If I was picky, the chips are the thicker, more sturdy type (which is fine) and not the thinner, crispy kind (often called "restaurant style." But each has its plusses, so no big deal. Be careful not to over-chip, the salsas are all fresh and very goodl. Our server was a pro - Jonathon. He has been with the restaurant since day 12 after opening and is their most seasoned of the wait staff. This showed in his knowledge of the dishes and attentiveness. Surprisingly, there was not a large crowd at lunch, but a decent crowd. This is now on our regular rotation for a lunch date.

TL:DR - Good food, great portions at a very reasonable price…read more The restaurant is very small which means once you get a seat, you get great service. The chips were fresh and hot, and the salsa bar had many choices, but they weren't labeled so must ask or, try them all. I had the fajita burrito combo and it was almost as big as my head. Shredded iceberg lettuce, sour cream and rice on the side. It was a bit heavy on the beans, but it was well-balanced and quite tasty. My friend got the fajitas, and he said they were really juicy and held their temperature throughout the meal. Highly recommended and rest assured that you'll have another meal the next day.

Then this is the place for you. The waitress did not know some of the liquors at her bar. We ordered table side guac and it was not made at the table but rather back in the kitchen and brought out to us. I ordered a mushroom quesadilla and it came with mushrooms onions and tomatoes My dining companion ordered huervos rancheros And it tasted like there was way too much excess salt. Our waitress never waited a moment to see if we had any further questions as we had to flag her down for the check and to order. Then she left the check and ran away even though we left our credit card out to pay. We had to go find her and walk up to the bar and pay for our meal. I do not leave many one star reviews but I will not return to this restaurant... I will make a special trip to the one on Haywood road.
