But fear not, the servers here bring prosecco to the hungry masses waiting outside--and the crowds are kept happy! Win-win for all.. The service inside was friendly as well, but I do think the food was a little disappointing, as my hopes were high after seeing the huge line outside. Pastas were okay but I've had better elsewhere. The food in Rome was good but disappointing overall. I wanted to be amazed by the food, but that just didn't happen. We tried to stay away from touristy places but I think maybe they're all touristy unless you get out of the center of the city. I've had much better Italian food in the US. The Roman Stew here was probably the best meal I had in Rome, the meat was very tender and I wanted more when I was done. But my girlfriend's pasta was undercooked (no, it wasn't just al dente), and the side dishes were kind of boring afterthoughts. The house wine also wasn't very good. read more

Pretty fun restaurant. Their business model is built on getting customers tipsy off of free prosecco dished out in line before eating. The service is definitely excellent. This place may be great for some, but it is NOT fit for those with tree nut allergies. This is a common type of allergy, and there were no good alternatives. The famous spaghetti with meatballs that many reviewers raved about was replaced with basic watered down tomato sauce, no cheese, or toppings of any kind. The meatballs and meat sauce apparently contain nuts and the restaurant couldn't be bothered to make a better alternative. I think this could be a wonderful place for many, as the service and vibe of the place sets it apart. They gave us some shots afterwards (well...by alcohol I mean sweet liquor) to try to raise spirits, but as someone with a common tree nut allergy I don't recommend it. read more

We had a fantastic time under the careful service and King direction of Salvatoro. He helped to make our little girl super comfortable in a rather loud and tightly confined restaurant space. Now, for the food - it's really a great departure from the vast majority of other "osteria" in Rome. In fact, it truly is a pub-typesetting with a mix of traditional Roman meals made in a bar food manner. It's a pleasant departure from the pizzeria scene or the traditional trattoria. The location, just far enough off the tourist trap zone of the Piazza Navona, makes it an easy place to find and a refreshing escape from the status quo. Worth it! .. I never waited at a restaurant and while waiting they have refilled my glass of wine (on the house) every time I emptied it. Which it was like 4 times since the wine was SO GOOD! When I got there they told me the wait time was 30 minutes but maybe 15 minutes when by and I had my table. The menu was great. We ordered calamari for appetizer with a bottle of Amarone and we ordered ravioli and carbonara. The food was AMAZING, so fresh and incredibly tasty. I recommend this place 100% read more

Today was our last day in Rome and this was the perfect spot to say addio to this beautiful city. Small little spot near piazza Navona. The line to get in was no joke, but they had the host a nice kid making sure we stayed hydrated with some good complimentary vino while we waited. The fried artichoke was amazing!! I will be dreaming of this for days. I had the ravioli which was great and my husband had the amatriciana which was very tasty. We also ordered the Rustica pizza & it is an understatement to say that it is the best pizza we had here in Rome. We ordered the spaghetti with meatballs. The food was amazing. They gave you three giant meatballs that are seasoned well. We also ordered a wine that was supposed to be a sweet wine, but it turned it to be semi sweet. The space is kinda small, so they fill it with tables all the way to the back, which causes a blocked path to the restroom. The staff overall was nice. I found this place on yelp and was incredibly satisfied!! Our waiter, Lorenzo, was absolutely fantastic! He was very lively and had some nice conversation. The restaurant had a little bit of a wait, but it was not bad at all, maybe 5 minutes. I had the spaghetti and meatballs for dinner and it had some great flavors. My brother had the Roman beef stew and said it was divine. It was not what he was expecting, being from the states, but he quite enjoyed the "stew". The vanilla ice cream with fresh strawberries was very delicious. Jasmine also helped us out and she was very fun as well. Lorenzo was great with helping us decode the menu, as we are from the states. He told us what was good and recommended some items we might not have looked at. We tipped our servers 20%. Honestly I saw some great reviews, and I thought this place was gonna be great, the atmosphere is amazing. On the other hand, the food (that I've had) was pretty bad. The fried Roman artichokes were fine. The pizza was soaked with grease. Crust was soggy, there way *way* to much Parma, and cheese. Service was mediocre at first, but got better after about 5m once we asked for the menu. My husband and I stumbled across this place the first time just walking through the alley ways in Rome. The second you walk in, they'll ask you where you're from. At first it was strange to be asked but you soon realize they ask everyone coming in because they literally have a refrigerator of menus in different languages. I also think depending on which language you speak, they try to assign a waiter/waitress who speaks the same language. We actually went twice when we were in Rome which I think says a lot. There's literally a sea of restaurants everywhere you went in Rome, sometimes you couldn't even tell where one restaurant started and another ended. But this place just stood out. We found it our first day in Rome and we came back our very last day. Menu: it isn't excessive but there's enough good choices on there to make you wish you could have 4 appetizers, 3 entrees, and maybe one of each of the desserts. Price: very fair, I wouldn't say it's "local" prices but for where this place is located, I would say for the excellent tasting food the price was definitely worth it Atmosphere: there's dried flowers on the wall, a bar when you walk in, and funny little pictures/signs on the wall. The staff is awesome! They ask you where you're from when yo walk in and gives you a sense of importance as a customer. The Rustica pizza is to die for. (Tried my gf's pizza as well, and it's also delicious). We went back for dinner a second time because we wanted to try something else. The steak and potatoes were awesome & the Tiramisu was classic. They even give you a candy or a shortbread cookie on the way out. We got a free shot of alcohol one of the nights we dined there. That's always a 5-star in my book. We went on a 10 day trip to Italy in March. Our first stop was Rome, and we had some of the best food we had our entire trip. On our last night in Rome, we went on a walk and ended up finding this restaurant tucked away. Everything was amazing. One of our top meals across four cities. The artichokes were delicious, we had the most incredible tiramisu and the service was amazing. Claudia was our server and she did such a fantastic job with giving suggestions on what to get and even where else to go in the city. This is truly my favorite restaurant in all of Italy!!!!! We were in Rome for 3 nights and ate their every single night. I tried the lasagna, the potato and sausage pizza, and the margarita pizza. ALL OF IT WAS PHENOMENAL. In addition to the food being bomb diggity, while you wait in line to get in (which is there every night but usually only takes 15 minutes to be seated) they bring you champagne and sometimes warm bread!! It was so fun to stand in line talking to other tourists and enjoying some champagne. If you are in Rome, I highly recommend going here AT LEAST once!!! We had to wait 20 mins for a table but they do a good job of making the wait a nice one by given us samples and Proseco. The ambience is warm and lovely. The food was well priced and plenty. We ordered the fried artichoke, rústica pizza, carbonara and the ametricana pasta- Delicious!! For desert we had the tiramisu, a different version from the traditional, is was good for 2, but you may want to order your own so you don't have to share. This place was amazing. There is limited seating and what seamed like a large line, don't be concerned, it moves quickly! Jimmy and Rasa were the best and made us feel like family. SIGH. I'm so disappointed that I had such a bad experience with this place because the reviews here were so good and I was hoping this would be an awesome meal. I was SO ready to have my world rocked by this place. There were just a bunch of little things that added up and overall made this place a place I wouldn't want to go back to. The service was extremely slow. We got there at 10PM and were seated immediately and the food arrived on our table AN HOUR LATER. The server actually looked at us and realized that we didn't get our food and frowned. It also took forever for the check to come. It sucked because we really wanted to leave but we were caught waiting there because the service was so bad. The server forgot our appetizer. After getting our food an hour later, we asked if we were getting our calamari soon. He didn't seem to understand and I said it multiple ways... we are missing a dish, we didn't get our squid, our appetizer isn't here... Then, he looked at us and said ohhhhh okay and walked off so we thought he understood us. We waited some more and he came back to take some plates and asked if everything was good. I asked him again if our calamari was coming and he said that he was confused. This honestly could've been handled differently and it made me really upset that he pretended to understand and ignored the problem. He could've asked for help from another server or even brought a menu for us to physically point out what we ordered. There was an English menu and he even repeated the order back to us so I'm not sure what happened there. We didn't get an apology or anything.
