I love this store more than I love life itself. I've been on the hunt for cute & unique plates, bowls, and other eatery-ware for my collection, and this little shop was an absolute goldmine. A treasure trove for trinkets, household goods, and more. I also bought a bunch of adorable and designed paper lanterns, which are hung up in my apartment. The lady at the counter helped me dig through the massive stack to find ones that I liked the best. It was only $3.99 for each lantern, and the bowls ranged from $5-$25. Great deals, great vibes, great purchases. I'm going to visit again to buy more plates and paper lanterns. read more

Kind of an everything you can find store, but with lucky cats and good luck emblems and fortune. There's a lot of everything here, from gifts, decorative wallets, to positive rocks with traditional Chinese characters on them. They also have incense of all kinds, including Japanese ones and Indian ones. Guess you can say this is a variety store, but quality of things looks on the upper end. There's also some cute pet costumes that are upfront, especially for the Chinese New Year season. Fun place to shop. read more

This is a good size store. As you walk in, make sure you start and check each level since they have three levels. Downstairs is where you find furniture, tea sets, and houseware type stuff. I love the fact that the tea sets dishes, and things like that are a good price as well and they have higher items on the higher end. The middle section has more of ornamentation type items to include some furniture and trinkets. The top level has a lot of clothing and a great selection of fabric. Definitely stop here if you're looking for some really vibrant type fabrics. read more

If you're visiting San Francisco's Chinatown, you MUST shop here. Wow! They sell a lot of different stuff. Ie. Statues, coin purses, jewelry, umbrellas, figurines, cello shaped wine racks, clothes, you name it. A lot of gift ideas for sure, and it's two stories. There's a lot to see. There are many sales people to assist, and they are adamant about closing on time. They will repeatedly verbalize it's nearing closing time throughout the store. They have to because there is a crowd of people shopping within the narrow aisles filled with merchandise. read more

I have been browsing and shopping here since my student days in San Francisco! It probably boasts the most diverse assortment and price range of Asian gifts on Grant Street. If you venture in, be sure to explore all three floors and you are bound to find a treasure! Whether you want a small ceramic item from the basement, a piece of luxurious jewelry from the main floor, or an elegant embroidered robe from the third, you will find every variety and price range of goods. The less expensive, more touristy items are displayed near the door, but if you venture farther back, you will find exquisitely beaded Mary Francis purses at prices lower than fancy boutiques. When visiting this store a few years back in San Francisco, I was in love! The variety was awesome and I purchased multiple things. Check out wad quick and customer service was top notch. When I arrived home I ended up giving many gifts to family and friends and it was great because they were unique. Recently I decided to reorder some items ( 2nd time I ordered after visiting the store) and once again the service was perfect. My items came right away! The down side is tax is higher in San Francisco and they really do not have a website so unless you visited store you really can't order from them. read more

If you're going for a joy ride through Chinatown, this is the best place to pick up all the quintessential Chinatown knick-knacks. I know this because my brother dragged us into every shop on Grant. This place is not only 3 floors of stuff, but has the best prices across the board, generally an entire dollar less or 15% cheaper than similar shops in the area. It's well staffed and you can taste some tea in the basement. It's not a place I'd go shopping on the regular, but if you're doing touristy stuff, this can be your one stop shop for SF Chinatown souvenirs. read more

Canton Bazaar is one of the larger, nicer stores in Chinatown, with 3 floors of just about anything you come to Chinatown for. You could easily spend an hour browsing through everything. It's usually got a considerable amount of customers but I haven't seen it reach that packed-like-sardines choking level of crowd. 2nd floor is apparel, including kimonos and Chinese dresses (Qipao) and accessories. Ground floor is purses, accessories, jewelry, and decorative sculptures. Basement is furniture, home goods and assorted kitchenware. When I happen to be in Chinatown, the last place I want to be is inside one of the many Tourist shops on Grant. I'd rather be checking out the Market action on Stockton, wandering wandering the Alleyways, people watching at Portsmouth Square, or heading on towards North Beach. Yet during my last visit, I was hosting out-of-town guests and they preferred to shop instead of explore. Canton Bazaar was one of their key choices and I spent a LOT of time among this store's 3 well-stocked floors. Are you aware of the notion that if you spend enough time in a place, that you'll eventually buy something? It's True. I was happy to eventually leave, but did so with a grudging appreciation of the selection and the helpful and friendly service here. read more

Canton Bazaar is my absolute favorite place to visit when I come to SF Chinatown. They have three story's of fun little trinkets. I feel like Ariel from Little Mermaid when I go in there. They definitely have gadgets and gizmos aplenty. The main reason I like going to this store is the large friendly Buddha statue that is located in the front of the store. He is so welcoming and a beautiful piece of art. I just wish I had the money to take him back home to LA with me. Every time I come in I grab my children new sets of chopsticks and beautiful silk pouches. They have come to expect that they will get these as a souvenir whenever I am in SF. If you are ever in the area I definitely recommend taking some time and exploring the canton bazaar. You might just find something you never knew you always wanted. read more

What a cool and fun store! You can explore here for hours. Yes, it's absolutely tacky and touristy... but that's the best part of it! You'll find kitschy things that you could find at stores like Urban Outfitters, but also inexplicable little Asian boxes with erotic art inside them, thousands of candles, musical instruments, furniture, and clothes/costumes. I know this isn't authentic Chinatown, but there's tons of that in the surrounding blocks. This is a very only-in-San-Francisco shopping experience, and it's good for an (adult) laugh! read more

So much bang for your renminbi! Canton Bazaar has all your spiritual enlightenment supplies. They've got all the Buddha statues you can ever need. This market in the middle of Chinatown is a huge destination for all your touristy needs. They had cheap t-shirts, printed with images of the Golden Gate and other SF sights. But their selection is so much more- they've got everything you need for the home. Bats and scorpions sealed in resin? What home wouldn't be better displaying a dead bat in plastic? They have a second story that has a bunch more stuff, along with tea, exotic art, tiny boxes, and a bunch more Asian themed merchandise. They offer the Yelp check-in, which is pretty great of them! Be sure to hit them up for some free tea samples while you're there. They've got a great selection. read more

Super cute and fun store located in China Town SF. They sell awesome silk goods/clothing as well as Chinese gifts. I noticed one of their mannequins had a beautiful silk robe on a wanted to get one it costs $69.99 I was thinking DAMN! That's the same price you would get a robe for at Victoria's Secret, obviously VS doesn't sell Chinese Silk but the same concept of a girly get-ready robe. I decided not to get it and good thing because next door they sold the same thing for only $19.99 ha ha both my friends ended up getting one as well! Even though it's pricey here they still had nice stuff! I saw some stress balls here I forgot how much they cost and I wanted to get some for my boyfriend but I didn't want to carry them around while we walked around SF the whole day. TIP: The deeper you get into China Town aka farther away from the main gate, the cheaper it is for the same goods! read more

Extremely unhappy with this place. Spent money here with my children. Less than 10 minutes later came back with my young son who was desperate to use a bathroom. Still holding his purchase from the place in his hand. We were then told they didn't have a bathroom. Which of course is not true they just don't want the public to use it. I get it if you don't want to open it to everyone but this was a desperate child who had just spent his savings at your business. Someone said they spent an hour and a half... I spent 2! This place was amazing with affordable and quality clothing, purses, and other goodies. It was such a delight to shop here vs. the stores selling cheaper wares. If you're ever in Chinatown, you'll likely stop by every store and you'll end up going into this store. as far as gift stores go in San Francisco's Chinatown, this is simply one of if not the best. HUGE (THREE floors, don't forget the basement!) everything from shoes to purses to furniture to fantabulous jewelry including crystal TIARAS!!! (someday), you name it or are looking for it, this place most likely has it, if it doesnt... you prolly are SOL as far as finding it.. In addition, the staff is nice, polite and welcoming. oh and four of the most important words i've uttered this year... SUPER TINY LUCKY CAT! Look for these niblet sized Maneki Neko at the check out in front of the cash register. The cutest things youve ever seen and I can tell you from experience that having one (I have six) may not bring you the winning ticket in the lottery, but they will increase the size of your smile exponentially. It's a FANTASTIC place to rest your legs in a just shy of midway walk from the Union Square area to the Wharf, before you hit North Beach. Put aside a MINIMUM of half an hour to explore... so MUCH fun in one store it's almost unbeliveable! read more

Go downstairs because they offer free tea tastings and a map of chinatown :) Canton Bazaar offers a wide variety of cute small dishes, chopsticks, bowls, buddahs, anything that will be a perfect souvenir. I managed to find a mini harmonica necklace for only $4 and works pretty well. Bring cash unless you plan on doing a lot of shopping since there is a $10 minimum for card. A must stop! read more

This one of the better touristy kind of shops that line both sides of grant in chinatown, this one distinguished by it's greater variety of items for sale. This is chinatown, so there will be no parking, but it's always better to walk in chinatown anyway due to the narrow congested streets. While they have the same amount of ticky tacky that is carried by literally every other store in sf-magnets, cable car christmas decorations, T shirts, they also carry some more tasteful and unique items inside, including some decent buddhist/chinese iconography. There is also the expected jewelry counter, but really the home decoration items/clothes are a much better bet. Pricing is variable-subject to change according to the season, supply and demand and the usual chinatown quirkiness. Don't be afraid to attempt to negotiate on pricing-sometimes great results can be achieved, sometimes not but it's always worth a try. Truly one of the better touristy type shops in the area. read more

Granted this place is a touristy spot/gift shop, I've occasionally shopped here to give away "local" gifts to friends visiting from out of town or friends from out of town. This place has a bunch of trinkets, some with the Chinese motifs. I come here for cheap souvenirs including chopsticks, fans, shotglasses, keychains, and postcards. The items are decent and they have huge variety. Coming here is like shopping at several stores along Grant Avenue's souvenir shops because of its size. They have a downstairs portion with dishes and other household items in case you want to do additionally shopping. They also have a backside with vases, flower pots, antiques, and some neat ($$$$ expensive) items you can take home for a hefty sum. read more

This is probably my favorite souvenir shop in Chinatown. It is big and the staff is friendly. They have two floors of all the stuff that you absolutely can't leave San Francisco without - bats sealed in resin, little pouches for your spare change, teeny tiny dishes, assorted chopsticks, tea sets and of course more. Also, i like the soothing Chinese music they play in here. One thing that they don't have that much of is toys but you can get those gems across the street. I love this place. I grew up going to school right around the corner so I have lots of memories of shopping here with my mom or with friends after school. I just went a week ago to buy my dad some black tai chi shoes for Christmas (which they had in his size, a 43! Even though they were much more expensive than I had hoped, I found they were one of the only stores on Grant Ave that sell them at all) While I waited for the woman to search downstairs for his size, I browsed some very odd tins (for your cocaine, weed, pills and other uses, painted with retro Asian designs, sooo odd!) And some dead bugs sealed inside plastic keychains (only $1.50!!) It's such a trip looking around. I paid my 10 cents for a bag and it's a work of art! A beautiful painting of a woman on it. The Canton Bazaar is an awesome place, it has a whole lot of beautiful furniture, jewelry, Knicks-knacks, clothing and memorabilia. Asian and CA in General too, mainly Bay Area based though. There's 2-3 floors, not sure if they're all always open, or if they switch on and off between ground/down and ground/up...? Everything seems very genuine, for a good price. And they do have everything--jewelry, purses, dishwear, tea, chop sticks, statues, kimonos, slippers, furniture and much, much more. I bought a "happy coat" with matching slippers and a cute little bag that has a waterproof lining that I'll probably use for a make-up bag.
