On Friday I stopped for a Chicken Parm sandwich to go. I was driving from Boston to Montpelier VT. I had to wait about 1/2 hour and the sandwich consisted of cubes of Chicken with sauce and cheese. NOT a filet as your menu says. So disappointed! It was a shame cause the bread, sauce and cheese were good. I am used to chicken parm being a filet. What I like about this place is that they are not chintzy. They are generous with their servings! It wasn't immediately apparent from the overhead menus, but 1.) Their pasta dishes - comedically and nostalgically called "Suppa Time" - are served with homemade bread. In these current days, any bread served for free actually matters. But this bread is homemade. 2.) Their salads also come with homemade bread. 3.) All burgers, sandwiches, subs and wraps are served with chips. You can also upgrade to other sides. 4.) You can get not one but two sizes of calzones. 5.) You can also get two sizes of apps and sides: small and large sizes of wings, french fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings and homemade bread. You can choose from 9 types of salads here and 24 pizzas, not including the make-your-own pizzas. I'd love to try most all of the combinations as they look high quality and tasty. As for the calzones and strombolis, I always thought they were the same. Apparently, calzones are circular and crimped like empanadas. Strombolis are rectangular. Both are filled with toppings and cheese. Another thing I was never aware of: Buffalo mozzarella is actually made from Buffalo milk and that is the type of mozzarella they use in their pizzas here. As a foodie, I really always thought Buffalo mozzarella was named as such because it was a big ball of cheese. But it is actually Buffalo milk which they say makes the pizza more creamy. I did not notice a difference but did enjoy my slices. Cantore's Pizza has been under new ownership since Jan 2024. I enjoyed the pizza and good selection of beers and drafts. The slices combo I ate was good. I loved that it was a family atmosphere and people were friendly and festive. I love that you can sit up at the tiny bar and have a draft but shorter patrons, take note: these bar stools are tall. read more

Great pizza! I routinely drive almost 100 miles from Central Vermont to get a pizza at Cantore's. It's the closest thing to true NYC/NJ pizza around here--thin (but not matzoh-thin) crust, just the right proportion of sauce and cheese. Worth the long drive. read more

We had a party of 14, various ages and menu choices. One of us was GF, the pizza was fabulous! It was the best I ever had, I am quite picky and critical about the quality of food. This was a 10+! We ordered take out for lunch, from work, so the photos don't do the meal justice. They were super fast and very friendly when we went in to pick up. Nice group there. The mozzarella sticks were great, above average from what I was told. I ordered the crispy chicken wrap and the ingredients were fresh and the chicken was plentiful. The homemade chips were SUPER- fresh and crispy and were just a nice touch! The california cobb salad was HUGE. My coworker definitely made that salad last all day, so basically 2 meals. I'm on the Saint Michael's Women Soccer team and we were heading down to Bentley University and stopped here for dinner. It was a Saturday night and we walked in with 35+ hungry people. (We did call the day before to make sure this was okay). Just needed to give details because despite all the people and coming in close to closing, this place was AMAZING. They were so so accommodating, we each ordered our meals at the register. All meals had great prices for SO MUCH food. It was all so delicious, many of us got the chicken parm and it was fantastic. I like to add that some of our meals came with a side salad, and their side salad was 100x better than any other pizza places side salad. So fresh and filled with many vegetables. There was a lot of food to make, so we ended up having to stay after closing. They were still so nice, we helped clean and tried to help them get out as soon as possible. Arrived around 6pm, but the kitchen had stopped making pizzas for sold by the slice. The selection was slim and it looked old, so my date and I ordered a fresh "Papa Cantore" pizza. The crust had a good chew and the sausage was tasty, but the pizza itself was super oily. Thankfully there were plenty of napkins at the table, because I probably used about half of the container wiping off the oil from the two slices that I ate. read more

The woman in front of me ordered and then the older gentleman at the register walked out back and proceeded to start eating food and left me standing at the register for 4-5min. I had the gluten-free pizza. It was much better than I thought. There were spices in the crust and the marinara sauce was very good. My friend had a chicken Parmesan sandwich with fresh made potato chips. That was not only good for lunch but was also good hours later for dinner. Went here recently on a Saturday night and won't be back. My boyfriend and I have both worked in restaurants so we understand how Saturday nights can be but the service did not meet expectation. We first ordered the Italian stromboli and added onion and green peppers and an order of arancini balls. The counter person brings us pasta dishes within 20 minutes and we inform her that it's not our food. We were told it would be 35 minutes for our food...45 minutes pass and we receive the arancini balls and are told the stromboli will be out shortly. 60 minutes pass and the counter person brings us our Stromboli and says "Okay so here's the deal... I brought it to the wrong table.. they didn't eat it or touch but cut in to it. We can either make you a new one or you can have this one." After waiting an hour, receiving wrong food once, we did not want to wait for another one. Our stromboli did not have the onions or green peppers we asked for and were charged for so it was still wrong. Also the stromboli was about 16" on a 12" pan so it was partially on the table on both sides which is a little unsanitary. The counter person did not give us plates or silverware so we still can't eat it yet. My boyfriend goes up to the counter to ask for them but is ignored as staff walks by and finally goes behind the counter and grabs the plates himself. The food was okay. That's why I gave them two stars. But we watched other unhappy customers wait long wait times and get comped for their food. I didn't bother complaining in person because there was a line waiting and we waited long enough to actually get the food. Overall it was disappointing. read more

I work in the area of Cantore's. We order from here frequently as lunch is an essential part of the day in my biz (go without lunch in my office, and you'll hear everyone...and I mean everyone...get a case of the hangries reallllll quick!). Cantore's delivers, both literally and figuratively. Good pies, excellent entrees, hot food at good prices. The menu is large without being overwhelming...but you frequent Cantore's for the pizza. Funny thing...the reviews that discuss unprofessional behavior and gossiping in the bar...I've never seen it in the times I've eaten in the restaurant itself. Staff here has always been friendly and welcoming. Also, I've never had an extraordinary wait for food, either (for delivery, pick up or dine in). The kitchen has been efficient each time I've eaten there. Choose Cantore's and you won't go hungry or hangry. And you'll be glad you did. Good food, good prices, easy to find. I recommend them. Hubby and I decided to try dinner here tonight since he was craving pasta. First complaint, only AC I side that we felt was by the door. It was 95 outside. We were sweating inside. Unacceptable!! Second issue we had was misrepresented menu item...hubby ordered Marsala manicotti. What he received was very undercooked stuffed rigatoni... come on folks! Youre Italian! Such a disgrace! I ordered chicken Parmesan with pasta. Pasta was so waterlogged and it tasted like the fridge. Gross! We should of known that the place was e toy for a good reason. I rarely give 5 stars but I truly think this is a place I would come all the time if I lived here. They have awesome deals for pizza fans (which I am not)... Like 2 slices and a soda for $6! Or 2 slices of pep and a soda for $3! Like come on is that for real.... My husband got a 16 incher combo and killed it ( he did say it was a bit greasy)... But what I was impressed with was my salad! I usually get stuck eating some nasty lettuce with pizza toppings which most joints call a "salad," but not here....oh no.... It was an actual salad with awesome toppings (the roasted reds, artichokes, and feta OMG the feta...) The chicken was just like I make at home (so I ordered extra) not the frozen garbage they heat up in the microwave. Everything here from the price to the service to the food was great. Although its just a little joint, in a super old run down strip mall, the place was non stop backed up with people and orders the entire time we were there.
