Solid for being the only pizza spot in town. Pizza and calzones are great. Subs are decent. Salads are pretty decent. No fryers, so anything "fried" is actually baked.

One of my favorite places in the Upper Valley. The owner, George, and his family, couldn't be nicer. Fantastic food at great prices!

Most items on the menu are okay/average. However, the sausage grinder is killer! Never fails to please.

Nice staff, clean restaurant. I order Gluten Free pizza and it's good and I've never become sick. Great to pick up on way home from work.

Courtney was our server; she was excellent & made sure we had what we needed, as well as willing to take a photo of us. I will say... the aioli they use for the tuna crudo was AWESOME - it also pairs great with the chicken marsala. I asked for a 'house margarita' which they were able to accommodate. I noticed that the bar area was slightly more busy. Mind you, it was a Wed. evening in late Sept. I cannot wait to go back to order a few apps, paired with nice red wine. Elegant & romantic place considering the location. The dim lighting is a nice touch.

DoorDash refuses to refund her, as they said they restaurant accepted the order and confirmed everything on their end. We've tried calling and emailing multiple times to rectify this issue, and there's been no response from Diomede's. Diomede's needs to TURN OFF online ordering ASAP, as everything was processed for our order according to DoorDash, so they will not refund us. They also didn't even believe my wife when she informed them the restaurant is closed, and that I had driven there trying to pickup the food that DoorDash said was 'ready for pickup,' according to the restaurant. Will be happy to delete this review if this gets rectified and resolved, but as of right now we're out $60 and nobody seems to want to fix this issue.

Giabella's is without a doubt the best Italian in New Hampshire. I would say it goes beyond bringing the North End of Boston to New Hampshire, it brings the best of your mother or grandmother's kitchen. The restaurant itself is spotlessly clean, and although it is not in a large spot, the tables are spaced out and for some reason it has an intimate feel in a buzzing restaurant with a good vibe. I tried one of their specialty martinis, and I was not disappointed. I also tried the recommended wine and was very happy. I am a food in Italian wine snob and both were great. Attention is paid to detail. The bread that came out before the meal was fresh and tasty. I had the eggplant and veal parm and Bella had the chicken Parm. The gravy was cooked so perfectly that we ended up, sopping it up with the bread. The meal was perfect, and we had enough to take leftovers with us. Hats off to the entire staff of Giabella's,

The Caesar, although over dressed, had lovely flavor and I liked the whites anchovies they chop in the dressing. Ambiance was what we expected. And now for the cons: we ordered the special of the night... the waitress said she loved these potato filled pasta, so we ordered. Along with the clams and pasta the mushroom horn pasta. The special, was 22 maybe $23. There were literally eight pasta purses on the plate. They were undercooked and while I enjoy flavor, the pasta was too undercooked and nothing hot, the clam dinner that my husband got was warmIsh. Although he ate it, it was quite heavy on the butter in the end. His was just warmer than tepid. Now onto the trumpet mushroom pasta that I ordered. One bite, pasta was undercooked! And the overall dish was too cold for me so I asked for them to heat it. I had eight pieces maybe nine pieces of pasta on my plate. It was a $26 dinner and she comes back and she says they're going to make me a fresh one and it'll be right out. After some 20 minutes go by, nothing...They brought out my to go order before my dinner. So I told them to keep it. As for the to go order, I ordered the pork Milanese. The pork looks lovely, but it was a to go order and they threw a very heavily dressed radicchio salad right on top in a box that was too small for the order and they handed it to me wide open and said here's your takeout order. I asked another waitress to get me another container so I could put the salad in that so we could at least close the two boxes. Lastly, no gloves are used when touching cooked food.... We will not go back...

But, here I go. Walking in -- and all throughout my lovely and unforgettable Grantham dining experience -- I could smell fresh, uncooked herbs. It was the kind of aroma that you rarely smell in restaurants so vividly. So after ordering a drink I walked the floors to find out if there was a popular dish. So here is maybe another secret - or maybe just a coincidence for that evening - many tables ordered the main star pasta. There are less than 5 pasta dishes on this menu, so the fettuccini alfredo must must be magic. And because I'm not a local, I wondered how inviting folks would be. I had people at the bar chatting it up with me and they were awesome! I was so impressed that I walked up and asked to meet Helen. She is one awesome and amazing owner! Very friendly and gracious. I ordered the salad and fettuccini with red sauce and they were delicious. The portions are large. Helen's Place of Grantham is the rare place I have no issues spending $18 for a pasta dish on. It's a standard price to pay for pasta dishes in the Upper Valley but I never felt the price was worth it until now. You know, being part Italian, the meatballs are never right, the sauce may be too laden or not flavorful enough, the noodles are not homemade or even al denté. None of these complaints apply at Helen's Place because I loved my pasta! I even had enough to bring home and share. They must use fresh herbs on many of their other dishes, because of the lovely fragrances. And I just love the priorities they use in their culinary choices: fresh ingredients, winning preparation and abundant quantities. The rotating specials menu is also popular. I saw some awesome things I knew would probably be better than elsewhere, ie the jalapeño poppers. And wine and margaritas all being merrily enjoyed together: I'm all in. Loved the dinner, the ambience, the family setting and the fare. This is a lovely find and there is no place I've been in many years with such fresh aromas as Helen's.

Glad we got there early (just after 5pm on…read morea cold and snowy Friday) because it was like watching a bird feeder with all the people zipping in and out for their take-away orders. In between, people were arriving for dinner and most opted to sit in the bar room where there is a big TV, though I never heard it. In fact, given all the people pouring in, I was surprised it wasn't louder. I spied an Absolut Citron Cosmo on the cocktail menu, and that is the official Cosmo recipe, so I was quick to order it. I was thrilled when our amazing server, Brooke, delivered not only my Cosmo to the table, but a lowball glass with the "dirty" ice the bartender had shaken the drink with and thought to send to the table with the perfectly crafted cocktail! What a great touch! I can't remember the last time I ordered a Cosmo out because I got tired of being disappointed. This one was 100% on the mark. I really want to give Brooke a shout out. I am vegetarian and she was really helpful sharing how they can customize so much of the menu. I had already seen the Impossible Burger on the menu and had my mind made up, but next time I will try the pizza (though the Impossible was perfect and piping hot!). I chose sweet potato fries as my side and they were very thick yet crispy on the outside and tender in the inside. I also ordered Sara's Choice Salad, which was red and green Little Leaf lettuce topped with sliced cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, thinly sliced red onions, blueberries, and big dollops of goat cheese. The maple balsamic vinaigrette on the side was the perfect accompaniment. The coffee is FRESH. Helen's must be one of the only places remaining that dumps coffee if it sits past a certain amount of time. My mother knows her coffee, and she commented on how good it was. The atmosphere is super casual, like a rustic family cabin. Very warm and welcoming, especially on a dark, messy night. Even the patrons were wonderful. I recommend this for a casual date night, family dinner, people of all ages, or if you just want a really good takeout meal. This is a really great local gem and I think I found my kitchen away from home.
