Came here on a road trip up to VT. Off the regular path, very happy with what we found. The service was basically just a walk up counter, so don't have a lot to say about that. And Ambiance was just pizza parlor with a bunch of booths. However the food is what I will give it a good for (because food is more important than the others if nothing stood out in those categories). The photos are so deceiving, it looks like the best restaurant in the area and it's not, it is possibly the worst. My friend got a chicken parm sub it was served on a paper plate and was made with chicken tenders and a BURGER BUN. I got buffalo wings and surprise- they're raw. Then there was the server, the restaurant was completely empty and he took 25 minutes once we finished our food to bring the check. Please find some where else to eat. Stopped in for lunch. Got spicy curly fries and large pepperoni. They literally put the fries out of the freezer into the pizza oven, which burns them. No seasoning. Spicy??? Not even fried. Since the new owner purchase, this place I must say things have definitely changed and not for the better. The staff are as nice as always and I'm glad that the old staff was able to stay. The new owner is not friendly, and never replies when you have a complaint. We found a big black hair wrapped inside our pizza crust. It was baked in. I sent a message the owner read it and never replied. Last night we ordered two pizzas, wings and a chef salad. The wings tasted like something out of the freezer section of the grocery store. The chef salad had some kind of nasty cooked salami on it , no roast beef as stated on the menu and the ham that used to be good at this restaurant now taste like dollar store ham. We will return because the staff is nice, the bartender she's very friendly and the pizza is still good. My family and I had a good first experience here. The staff were very welcoming and friendly when taking our order. Getting our orders taken were fast and to the point. The food was fantastic for the price (about $7 for a sub) and they were huge! We ordered an Italian sub, grilled chicken sandwich, and the large cheese pizza. The cheese was great and it came out so fast! Bottled drinks lined their walls and they were all the same prices. Tap water is in the front and there are complimentary paper cups for you to grab. I was surprised last week when we returned to Pizza Chef and the quality had fell- a fall from grace as Pizza Chef had been good for so long. We got pizza and salads with grilled chicken. Great time traveling to this pizza gem tucked in the corner of the Vermont and New Hampshire border. Pizza chef is located in Windsor, Vermont. The atmosphere is a little vintage, but not in a bad way. It's also quite casual as well. Service is from their counter. They serve pizza and other dishes as well. You can get a burger, salad, or pasta. The quality of food is average, but definitely enjoyable. They're strength is definitely their pizza. Overall, I recommend it. I've never had a bad experience there (eat in or take out). They have the market cornered on pizza. It's the only pizza place within around 10 miles. read more

Best pizza on Earth. I've lived in VT, MA, FL, and NY and I can not find pizza as tasty, cheap and consistent as it is here. Anytime I'm in Vermont, this place is on the top of my list for places to stop and eat. Try it, and you will forever crave it! What a fun little pizza place in such a charming town. Don't let the 3 stars deter you from stopping in. We've had some really fantastic pizza this year so the competition is fierce. Wow, Italian deliciousness! I was not expecting much from this place, but I was completely awed by the total tastiness of the stuffed shells! The tomato sauce was delicious with real bits of tomato and a bit sweet. The shells were perfectly al dente with a little bit of baked goodness and the cheeeeeese.... Oh yum. This plate of stuffed shells totally made my day. Oh, it also came with some garlic bread and salad but it was all about the shells. Looking forward to trying more of the menu items! Yum! Update: tried the "cheese salad" today as well as the meatballs. These cheese salad was basically a garden salad with an overwhelming amount of tasteless cheese.
