I contacted Rob with Cantrell to have my lock changed and we agreed to a certain time for him to perform the service. He called about 30-minutes before the scheduled time to ask me if I wanted him to come sooner. I agreed. As he was attempting to locate my home, he advised me that he had to hurry because he had a prior obligation. He entered my home with no courtesies and again stated that he had to hurry. Our agreement was that he would change two locks; one in the interior of my home and the exterior door. He looked at the interior door and said I would have to go buy a lock. When I asked him what he meant, he dismissed me. He then set his intentions on quickly changing the lock on the exterior door. Again, I attempted to engage him with questions, and he interrupted me saying that he needed to hurry because he had a prior engagement. His rudeness was beyond acceptable. I asked him if he would like to reschedule since he needed to be somewhere else, and he said, "You still owe me $75 for showing up." When I said I would not pay him due to his poor behavior and that I would include this experience in a review, Rob stood in my doorway in a threatening manner and said, "You're not going to write that in a review." I had to ask him to leave my home. On his way out, and in a threatening tone, Rob accused me of attempting to scam him. This is the man who misrepresented his services to me prior to me scheduling, including the fact that he even had the time to complete the services. I'm an African American woman and judging by Rob's hostility, it felt like he was engaging in stereotyping. The most inappropriate and bizarre business experience I have ever had. He was so courteous on the telephone when I scheduled the appointment, but nasty and condescending in person. So unacceptable and recorded. When you think about something as serious as a lock to your residence, I think few people would have felt comfortable with Rob insisting that he needed to complete the job in a HURRY! I'm not paying for someone to just show-up and treat me abhorrently! I pay for professionals to answer my questions about the job and to act ethically and with integrity and honor business commitments while completing the job. Please see Rob's response below. Robert Cantrell was on time and did great work. It was very easy to schedule an appointment. He was able to fix our front door lock. It was original with our 1940s house so he replaced the tumbler but kept the look of the lock. We are thrilled at how easy it is to lock and unlock. We weren't sure what to expect as far as price because this was our first time using a mobile locksmith but the cost was very reasonable and for the exceptional quality of Robert's work--we felt like we got the best deal. RE: Cantrell's Lock & Key - Fabulous experience. I needed my exterior door locks re-keyed that night. Room-mate had key stolen - and I didn't want to take a chance. I called for service - described to project - 4 door keys - two deadbolt and two regular. Cantrell said they could be there by 9pm - and did so - on the button. They were clean - professional in appearance - with positive can do attitude - explained process and was done in 30 minutes. Fee was very reasonable considering a night call. Hard to find a business less professional and more dubious than Cantrell Locksmith It started poorly with a complete lack of interest in Covid protocols and the need to pry visit fees and information out of him. Despite having access to the other side of the problem door and having already removed the knobs and plates, after a 15 second twist of a wrench, without agreement about charges we were told to pay $150 for a "locked out" fee. The lowlight of this increasingly insulting encounter went like this. Him "I usually don't work on Sunday's" Us "Today is Thursday" Him "Did you think I thought today was Sunday? You know what they say about assume? It makes..... Who starts a conversation with the phrase "I don't work on Sundays" if no one asked you about your work schedule? I'm leaving out at least 3 other examples of horrifyingly bad service but implore you not to experience your own. read more

I was shocked, enraged and disgusted when this technician left my house over the past weekend. I locked myself out of my house with a blink of an eye on my way to a birthday party with my 2 young children and 5 month old baby. With no one to call for help, I found this business on my phones map app. They responded right away and said he would arrive within 5 minutes. "Thank god!" I thought. When he arrived I preceded to explain that a previous locksmith was able to open my front door for me even though it seemed to be a difficult style lock. That's when it all went downhill. The man decided to tell me that I was wrong and argued that my lock was impossible to open. He started making rude comments such as "are you telling me how to my job" and "maybe we should call the last guy who opened it". I was shocked with his attitude and demeanor . I (politely) demanded that he at least try to open the front door since I knew it had been done just months ago. Against his will he attempted to open it and the door swung open in less than 2 minutes. Not only should he have been embarrassed at that point, but he should have apologized for being so arrogant. Instead he charged me $100 for the service call and another $100 to open the door and. Thats $200 for 10 minutes of arguing and 2 minutes of work! Meanwhile my kids are running around, my infant is screaming and he's giving me a lecture on how much Google charges him to advertise and so he much charge me much. Bottom line is that this guy was a complete a$$&@"! and he took advantage of me. I was grateful to be on my way after only 20 minutes and would have paid a nice fee for that, but considering he did it so quickly and that I was right about getting the door open easily I would a have expected something more fair. If you care about integrity, do not hire this guy. Or at least get a quote first and don't bother talking to him. read more

This person (in the picture) is the worst business person ever. He was contacted by another/associated company to rekey a lock on one of my properties. His is unprofessional, rude and was ill prepared to perform the simple services. When I presented him with his Groupon, he decided not to honor it and began making racial comments and causing a disturbance throughout the complex. He left the door rekeyed, but took the key back and drove off. If you care for the safety of your family and property, I would not hire this person. I have never experienced such vile and nastiness from one human being. I rarely make negative Yelp comments but this experience with think guy sincerely warrants it. read more
