Pool Refresh with Mini Pebble 'Tropic Blue'

This is an update to a previous review where we were not happy customers. Mr. Tom Mata returned to look at our pool again and offered to redo/refresh at a discount so we entered into discussions again. This time we decided to go with a mini pebble which had a longer life and is clearly much nicer. He also suggested a Concrete Stain for our deck which turned out Great !!! All the workers were professional, clean and did a Great Job !!!

Pool and Hot tub work done.

Tom Mata and his crew did an excellent job on our pool in Fullerton. I highly recommend him and his company. We needed a large crack in the pool repaired, new plaster, tile, lights, etc., and it was all done on time, on budget, with great service.

As with any large project, there were a few issues that came up along the way. What impressed us most was how quickly and professionally they addressed our concerns. They took the time to make things right and ensured everything was completed to our standards, which we really appreciated. The finished pool looks fantastic, and we're very happy with the end result. Because of our positive experience, we've already referred them to friends and neighbors who are considering pool remodeling of their own. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others looking for quality work and excellent customer service. It's hard to find a company that stands behind its work and truly cares about customer satisfaction, and this team did exactly that.

I had them do an acid wash, replace my pool and spa lights, clean the tile, and repair a small concrete patch. Everything turned out great and the whole process was smooth from start to finish. It's not always easy finding reliable pool service, but these guys delivered. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again and would definitely recommend them to anyone needing pool work done.

I didn't feel like there were hidden costs, but note there may be extra costs for you after they demo the pool, if you are also re-plastering. Caesar and Eddie were very responsive to email and text with any questions and concerns and made sure to come themselves to double check any issues. The team overall cleaned up after themselves and left the job site in good shape. The company is full service and brings the pool "full circle" and provides service to fill the pool, check filters, services the pump, etc after the pool is re-plastered. Work style: I imagine like many companies of this type there are teams of craftsmen that come through at different stages. I was able to get a clear schedule for the demo and the plaster phase, but the pool "startup" was a bit more variable (this mattered to me because we have dogs that have access to the yard, so if this applies to you I think you have to be very clear about hours of availability in advance). It seemed that a foreman would come and check in the team periodically. My only complaint through the whole process was that during the plaster day the crew installed a leaking hose that sprayed all over at the spigot at my stucco house and foundation for several hours, when I finally saw it, I had to draw attention to the crew to fix the situation. Due to how long the process with water takes, if it was not caught by myself it likely would have done some damage to the stucco wall. This was my only real issue over the entire job. Overall, communication was great, the finished product is beautiful, and pricing was fair and transparent. The pool came out looking fantastic.

He assured me that they can service my pool and do the startup. I stayed in touch with all of them through the plastering phase to keep them updated on when to come out. They assured me multiple times all was well and they would be ready to go. All the other pool companies I turned away after we agreed on price. On the day of startup, they came out and he spent a ton of time on the phone in the front of my house. No update from him, he left and I get a random text that my house is out of their service area. I told them that makes no sense as we have been in touch for a few weeks and I was assured all was good. They opted to not take my pool on and told me to contact someone else. They said they wouldn't charge me for the visit like they did me a solid..i just don't get it. All I asked was for transparency and not leave me in a position to call back the other pool companies and ask for a quote. I said, since you made a mistake and it's out of your service area, can you just finish the start up you promised me and I'll find another company to do the maintenance. They said no. After a pool is replastered, it's a crucial time to ensure everything is moving in the start up phase and they almost screwed me over. It's an expensive project to replaster and none of that was taken into account on their behalf. I'm very disappointed in how this company handled my service.
