Ryan's company Perfect Pool and Spa Service has been servicing our home pool for five years with quality work. So when our church in Fullerton needed its baptismal pool heater replaced, Ryan's crew performed above and beyond....the work was done in five hours, even with a slight hill to have to climb with the heater in tow to the installation enclosure. There was one little glitch which at first indicated an issue with one of the circuit boards inside the heater...but, after a couple of calls to the tech specialist, the problem was fixed, and the job was completed....(a simple tightening of a loose wire did the trick)....an excellent job by Bruno and Sean from start to finish...even painted the white PVC piping with gray spray paint to match the other piping in the enclosure. We call Perfect Pool and Spa as we had an issue with our pool vacuum. The plumber said that we had a crack in the pipe because it was just sucking air. I wasn't convinced so I reach out to perfect pools and they said that the pipe was probable clogged. They sent out a tech with an air tank and within 15 minutes the line was cleared out and is now working great. They also replaced one of our valves. Our pool heater stopped working and it was showing the "LO" code. After a quick search on Yelp, I decided to go with Perfect Pool and Spa Service. Kay was able to fit me in the same business day. The technician (Bruno) arrived at my house and was able to assess and address the problem. Bruno was very skilled and knowledgeable. Apparently, the sensors on the pool heater were going bad. Bruno quickly picked up and swapped out the parts with no issues. Fair-weather pool service, at best. As you can see from my Yelp account I only try to leave positive reviews but felt I needed to warn people about this pool service. I went on vacation for a week and came back to find my pool filled with algae. Nobody called me to tell me anything, I had to call them. When I called i talked to Steve the owner, all that happened on the phone call was Steve blaming me and talking down to me condescendingly, telling me how it was my fault for not adding water to the pool. It was VERY unprofessional. I did add water many times. Regardless of being talked down to, I begged them to send someone out that day or the next day so the situation didn't worsen. No one was able to come out for 6 days. In the meantime the pool got worse and my house guests who were excited to use the pool couldn't. "Perfect" pool and spa, finally sent someone out the following Tuesday to look at it. He left without explaining what was going on. Later that day I got an email from Steve essentially saying theres nothing we can do so we are terminating pool service. All he left me with was a phone number of a leak detection company. He said that he had spoken to someone at the leak detection company and briefed them on our situation and that they should be able to help. However, when I called they said they couldn't come out for a month. This pool service was here for me in the good times, but NOT the bad. which is why I'm titling my review "Fair Weather Pool Service" A couple other things to note: 1) After THEY terminated pool service, they had the audacity to send one of their guys out to collect chlorine tablets that they had previously given all their clients (that we paid for). They came onto my property without notice (no knocking or ringing the door bell or calling) and trespassed on my property. 2) When my driveway was unavailable, their pool cleaner also parked his truck in my neighbors driveway. My neighbor was thinking who the heck is parking on my driveway. He could have easily parked along the street! 3) They didn't want me writing this review and accused me of being vengeful however I wasn't going to be silenced and not share my experience. They have admitted their fault to me three separate times acknowledging they were in the wrong and I have forgiven them, but found it necessary to share this for the benefit of anyone else looking for an honest, and KIND pool service. read more

One star - find another place to do your pool. You'll thank me later... Hire at your peril - service was anything but "perfect." Cannot recommend this company for monthly pool service. (Until stopped using them, was paying approximately $150/mo ($200+ with "extras") for monthly service for regular sized pool in Yorba Linda, plus around $1,500 more upcharges each year for other "needed" items.) The vast majority of my many reviews are positive (only 2 other one-star ratings), and most importantly, they're truthful. I use Yelp to find good companies, where I rely on other Yelpers' ratings, so I want others to likewise be able to do the same from my ratings. Unfortunately, this company merits only one star. As this company's other negative ratings have noted, after starting off good initially for a couple months, they unfortunately start to either overcharge and/or deliver substandard service, failing to keep pool in good condition or to show up when they say. Then, when they receive bad ratings, they get personal and blame and/or attack the customer(s) with name-calling, or come up excuses, and candidly, seem a bit rude. Further, their communication was lacking. Sadly, the only time they seemed to be able to timely communicate to me about my pool was to raise prices or tack on hundreds of dollars of "extras." Any time there was an issue, they couldn't fix it, were too busy, or had some excuse. Save yourself some aggravation and find a more reputable OC pool company with fewer negative ratings to service your pool, especially if you want your pool to be clean, and want to avoid being overcharged. (P.S. - When writing this review, I couldn't help but notice that for a couple of their positive reviews during 2022, the raters appear to either have this company as their sole rating or just 1 or 2 ratings and/or not even be local-- either from San Fran (10/22) or Houston (5/22), or both!....lol) read more

I found this company through Yelp 2 years ago when we needed someone to come take care of my father-in-law's pool as we felt it was too dangerous for him to continue trying to maintain it on his own as his mobility was decreasing and tbh he wasn't doing the greatest job at it anyways bc it never looked like it was ok to swim in. I'm so glad we hired Steve and his team - they have been awesome. They came in and brought the pool back to life and made it swimmable so we were able to have family functions there again and let the kids swim in it. Last year as supply shortages started to hit every aspect of life as we know it, Steve had already anticipated it and had purchased an extra bucket of chlorine tabs for us so the chlorine shortage never affected us. As we ran into problems like dad forgetting to fill the pool with water and letting the levels get too low, Steve helped us come up with cost-effective solutions (like a hose timer) to resolve. When there was a recent need for some major overhaul to fix a massive algae growth (due to the pools age, old equipment, etc - it was no fault from their services) that could cost over $2500, Steve worked with us to figure out the best and cheapest thing to do given that we were planning to sell the home in the near future. He saved us hundreds of dollars and kept the pool in decent condition to carry us through selling the house. I really can't say enough nice things about Steve and his team. He's super responsive, reasonable priced, honest, and overall so easy to work with. If you need a good pool service, this is it!! read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! My husband hired this company the same month we finished our pool (October 2023) and what a complete nightmare. They have completely ruined our plaster and caused us to have to drain and refill the pool. After multiple back and forth emails, my husband sent a email as a final effort for the owner to make things right and yet the owner responded trying to blame us for the problem and failed to take any responsibility. Quite honestly I am completely appalled with how he treats customers. This owner has acted in bad faith and never once answered the simple question - Why were we the ones to notify them of a problem with our pool if they conduct a weekly service?! We started seeing yellow markings, markings on the plaster and a dark line on the tiles. I'm not quite sure why we were the ones to bring up these problems and request further investigation/action when they complete a weekly service. Shouldn't the pool technician have noticed this and tested the water? Did they not test the water when they first started our service? So many questions with no answers. And no proof to even supply us that they didn't cause the problem as they claim. They have not taken any responsibility and the funniest part about it is he offered to help rectify the issue by draining the pool for $675. Bad business! Horrible customer service! read more

Per my conversation with Ryan, I did promise him that I would update my review. He explained to me that some California law was passed in 2019 about sub-contractors and for that reason his minimum is $120,which explains why my sister & I received differing quotes. That price is still really steep considering the fact that our current pool-man is charging us $90 based on the size of our pool. Nonetheless I do appreciate Ryan taking the time to clear that up. I did tell him that I would completely take down this review only on 1 condition. And that is if the algae grows back. My frustration stems from him not exerting all efforts & failing to use all resources BEFORE quoting us a $525 fix as the only solution. I have given this company an additional star for taking the time to follow up with me based on my review. But unless my pool proves to be resistant to the more cost efficient solution that my current pool-man treated it with, this review will stand. read more

I hired this company to replace an old pump that was leaking and to reconfigure some plumbing to make access to the equipment easier. They did a fantastic job. I asked them to come back to fix a leak I thought was coming from the new plumbing but it was actually coming from my salt cell. They came and even though they discovered it wasn't from their prior work, they fixed that at no charge. Kay responded within minutes to my yelp inquiry. I called and she said Ryan would be able to come same day and give an estimate on salt system that seems faulty. Ryan called and gave me an arrival time of later that day and showed up on time. He pointed out two problems right away-pressure is too high (filters need attention) and algae in pool. Salt system is very old and likely the fault in the system is not fixable so he will quote for replacement. Also was very pleased with their maintenance program. He was extremely professional and gave details on how service fees work and how scheduling works. This is a shady pool service company. They "took over" the route from my previous pool servicer. Promised "no increase in rates". They lied, in a roundabout way they figured how to increase the rates. Then proceeded to bill me without me agreeing to their new terms. They were hard to get ahold of, AND worst of all let my pool turn green to the point I needed to bring in another company to fix it, for a hefty fee.
