Our Fisher Towers full-day rafting trip with Red River Adventures was one of the highlights of our…read morevacation, and our guide, Molly, was a huge reason why! She was hilarious, incredibly knowledgeable, and kept us laughing all day with river guide stories and jokes. One of our favorite parts was when Molly pointed out a Padlé Oarefish. We'd never even heard of one before! She explained they're unusually flat fish, most commonly yellow with blue, red, or pink accents, and they're surprisingly well camouflaged along the river. Such a cool thing to learn! She also showed us a rock formation that looked exactly like Winnie the Pooh wearing a beret and breathing fire. Once you see it, you can't unsee it! The wildlife was unbelievable. We saw bighorn sheep, three otters, geese, blue herons (mud flamingos), a baby deer, a fox catching a fish, and a huge eagle nest. Molly said we're officially her lucky group because they usually only see a couple of those animals, and she'd never seen the deer or the fox on a trip before. Lunch was fantastic too! The "conewiches" were surprisingly delicious. We were a little hesitant because we'd never tried Mediterranean food before, but the homemade Mediterranean salad with feta and kettle chips folded into a tortilla absolutely rocked. I'm still wishing I had Molly's recipe! If you're thinking about rafting in Moab, book the Fisher Towers trip with Red River Adventures. If you get Molly as your guide, consider yourself lucky. You'll leave with great memories, sore cheeks from laughing, and probably a newfound appreciation for the rare and majestic Padlé Oarefish. Oh, and I t's officially Hank's Bubble Bath in our book. And they were so knowledgeable about Ancient Indian facts, rocks & geography. They really did it all. Sleeping arrangements were awesome-- cots under the stars or tents. There were optional hikes (easy hikes). The rapids were amazing & our drivers were so skilled & knowledgeable. It never felt unsafe. They were very concerned about our safety! From beginning to end, Josh had a lot of information and history to share with us, and he made everything interesting and fun. He enjoyed answering questions, sharing his knowledge with us, and taking all the pictures we wanted. We even stopped for a quick hike on our tour (and those that didn't want to join were welcomed to stay on the raft). This was an amazing way to see a lot in a "short time" and learn.

I was searching on line and found Navtec. The river ride on the Colorado sounded like a great way to see the park. And it sure was, we nailed it. We arrived at their location downtown Moab a little while after checking into a hotel downtown. They offered to pick us up but it was a nice 10 minute walk to get to their office. It's a nice spot with plenty of last minute necessary's like sunscreen. Within minutes of rallying our group of 6 we were off to the launch point for the tour with our motorized blowup boat. We had a stop along the way at the great wall to see hieroglyphics. The boat ride was great, with information on spots and stories as well. Our guide Josh was excellent. Happy to say we had a great time.

I contacted the company to reschedule, but instead of showing any understanding, they charged me a rescheduling fee that essentially made me pay double for the same tour. I understand that businesses have cancellation policies, but charging a customer extra in a situation like this feels unreasonable and unfair. A company's customer service is tested when something goes wrong. In my case, there was no flexibility, no empathy, and no attempt to find a fair solution. On the day of our trip Jay picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the Canyonlands needle District. We can't see enough good things about our ghide Jay. He was informative, engaging, friendly, and really funny. We couldn't ask for a better guide. We stopped at various points and did two hikes in Canyonlands Totaling a little over 5 miles. Jay made it a point to keep the pace slow and easy. Wild West Voyages provided snacks, water, and a great lunch. We enjoyed our tour of the needles district so much that we immediately booked a white water rafting trip the following day. We spoke with Catherine at Wild West and she couldn't have been more helpful. She booked us for a rafting tour the very next day. We were pleasantly surprised the rates which we believe to be very reasonable.We recommend Wild West Voyoges to anyone who's thinking about taking a tour in and around Moab.

I had never heard of Canyonlands and we saw parts that we would never have seen. It was awe-inspiring and so very beautiful. I felt very safe and he taught us a lot about the area but also gave us time just to soak it all in. My favorite part of our trip so far was this ride. We rafted in the afternoon with Evans and Sam. They both worked very hard navigating the rafts, setting up and breaking down the lunch, and loading and unloading rafts. The water is low so it is not a fast moving river but the winds were really strong and pushing against us. Evans kept a great attitude and engaged with everyone and maybe that is just the norm. I was exhausted watching him! We saw a bald eagle fly over and land very close to us and that was a great highlight! Overall, a great day!

The scenery was breathtaking, but what truly made the experience unforgettable was our guide Shaun. Shaun was absolutely outstanding. He was incredibly knowledgeable, not only about the river, but also the history, geology, wildlife, and the entire surrounding area. Every question we asked was met with an interesting answer, and his passion for what he does really shines through. Beyond that, Shaun was kind, funny, smart, and made everyone feel comfortable and welcome from the moment we launched. He struck the perfect balance between keeping us safe, sharing fascinating information, and making sure we were having an amazing time. By the end of the trip, it felt like we had spent the day with a friend. We can't wait to come back to Moab and do it again! When we do, we will absolutely be requesting Shaun as our guide.
