The administrative staff were warm, welcoming, and easy to communicate with, which made for a pleasant initial interaction. Unfortunately, my consultation with Dr. Loffredo did not meet professional expectations. During our brief interaction, approximately 10 minutes, he was dismissive and spoke over me throughout the conversation. Despite asking questions, he repeatedly interrupted my responses, which made it difficult to feel heard or respected as a patient. Additionally, the nurse present in the room demonstrated a similar lack of professionalism. As a nurse myself, I hold fellow healthcare professionals to a high standard, and I found the behavior of both Dr. Loffredo and his nurse to be discourteous and unprofessional. Following the appointment, Dr. Loffredo contacted me by phone and spoke in a manner I found abrupt and inappropriate. Given the nature of this experience, I would not return to this practice, regardless of cost. While I had heard positive things about Cape & Islands Plastic Surgery, I can only assume those reviews pertain to other providers within the practice!

A questionable spot was found on my mammogram and I had always considered having a breast reduction. I decided to just do it! I had breast reduction and lift surgery, with liposuction. Two words... NO DRAINS! I never knew until Dr. Costas told me, that I had what is called Breast Hypertrophy, just another example of the extent of knowledge and experience of Dr. Costas! I was scheduled when there was a cancellation, and had my surgery one week after my consultation! The staff shared their own, personal surgery stories with me and they have a way of putting you at ease! My primary doctor, NP and my specialists are familiar with Dr. Costas' work and speak in high regards of his talent. I work in the medical field, and I have highly recommended Dr. Costas to my patients and colleagues. I am so glad I had the surgery, and wish I had done it sooner! I developed keloid scars under both breasts. Still, he did not inform me what I had or how to help myself. He repeatedly advised massaging the area with vitamin E. Keloid scarring is irritating and erythematous. The scars are raised and thick. I would not recommend this doctor. He does not take the time to evaluate each patient properly, and his communication skills are inadequate. I waited to write this to see if my scars would heal over time, and they have not. Working with him was the worst decision I have made in the field of plastic surgery. There is more, as he did three procedures, but I will not go on. I wasted my money and am permanently scarred. The lack of communication left me feeling empty, uncared for, and cheated. Please! Find someone who listens, asks about your health condition and previous procedures, gives you the facts, and treats you like an individual with unique concerns. 12/31/25. The initial appointment was easy to schedule, and I was very satisfied with everything from the location, affordability, professionalism of his office staff, and his personal evaluation and details of the procedure. If you want someone to actually listen to your concerns and to care enough to have a conversation with you, do not go to Susan Sullivan. I have family history of melanoma, my mother recently passed. I have a very strange large raised mark on my leg when I tried to show her she immediately, with out moving an inch closer to look at it, she laughed, smirked and said curtly "that's a freckle." It absolutely looks nothing like a freckle. I also wanted to mention sharp chest pains in my chest she kept the smirk on her face and laughed at me again and said that's normal. Again asked no further questions and failed to explain to me how sharp pains in my chest are normal. I told her about a very strange numbing wrist pain that feels paralyzed at times, again she laughed smirked and said that's from sleeping and totally normal. Failed to ask me a single question or look into any of my concerns for even a second further. (I am not a dramatic person and don't even like to go to the doctors for my problems I'd rather just live with them, but here I was trying to do the right thing and let the doctor know how I've been feeling and she treated me like I was stupid for doing that) I feel very un-cared for.
