Love the concept of the takeout steam pot that allows you to make your own crab boil at home or in your vacation rental. This added a special touch to our last night at the beach. Service was great. We ordered 3 crab boils which came in one small steam pot. We added an additional pound of crab legs because those are my daughter's favorite. This was our second year in a row ordering from Cape Fear Boil Company, and just like last time, it was a fantastic experience. While they don't offer dine-in, their carry-out steamer pots are the perfect way to enjoy a coastal boil from the comfort of your home or vacation rental. We ordered The Traditional pot, along with cornbread muffins, which were absolutely delicious. The ingredients were fresh, the seafood was well-seasoned, and the portions were generous and filling. Liam helped us during pickup and was great, he walked us through the cooking process, answered any questions, and made sure we had the instructions. His attention to detail and friendliness added to the overall great experience. It's a fun, easy, and consistently satisfying meal that you prepare in the comfort of your own space without any fuss. Went with wife after afternoon at the beach. The place was packed - had a 30 minute wait. Had their country boil and crab legs - all was seasoned well and cooked right. Had the painkiller drink - it is a pina collata type drink (saying that 'cause of the coconut flavor) which was fantastic. Service was good - we were at the bar and the bartender was busy so we did have to wait a couple times but understandable. The reason it's not a five start was people sit outside the door at tables and the cigarette smoke drifts in (we were close to door at the bar) - not the restaurants fault but it does take away from the experience. I would not bring young kids here - it's noisy and people are close together. Really good for that meal after sitting on the beach or hanging out at the house...... read more

We could've picked up Cape Fear Boil Co every night, it was so amazing!! Noting this is a pick up to cook at home ONLY - on vacation with limited cookware this is a GREAT option as it has per person options that come in the pot to boil. Such a great idea :) First time, we did the pot shrimp boil. Had all of the seasonings & it made my sister in law feel like a 5 star chef. It was quick with all of the directions. Literally couldn't be easier; if you think going out to eat is easier... not on this one! After wanting lobster & not finding it on many menus, Cape Fear came through. We did an a la carte of lobster tail & mussels. A la cart doesn't not come with cookware so you have to have your own pot. I'm glad we didn't have this earlier in the week or I would've had it every day. Fresh, easy, tasty. You won't be disappointed. Staff was great when we called to push back our pick up. Absolutely recommend! Fresh seafood right at your fingertips. The best part is being able to cook it at your own place. Don't worry they provide detailed instructions on how to cook it as well. Cape Fear Boil Company was AMAZING! We did the Masonboro boil and needless to say, it was so easy to follow the instructions and make it! In under 30 minutes we had a great meal for my fiancé and I! It was a rainy day in Carolina beach so this was the perfect activity for us. The customer service when picking up our order was top notch. The cashier was so attentive and courteous and even offered to help us if we struggled with our boil by telling us we could call her and she will guide us through it. If you find yourself in Kure Beach and are looking for a great seafood boil while enjoying your beach house - THIS IS THE PLACE! We got the Masonboro for three of us with additional crab and genuinely, it was above and beyond delicious. The clams were a little iffy for us (a lot of them didn't open fully) which was a little depressing but thankfully there was enough of other options to make it worthwhile. read more

This was our first experience catering a boil at our oceanfront rental. Cape Fear Boiling provided excellent service, a delicious meal, and the ease of not having to do a single thing other than eat and enjoy! Even though the weather did not cooperate we had everything set-up on the back deck and Nick, our boiler, was great! If the weather isn't being cooperative, still have the BOIL, it's worth it. Carry out only no dine in tables. Call ahead and picked up our order within 45 minutes. Took back to the beach house and cooked on the stove top. Had the lobster tail pot for ten, it easily fed thirteen including six adults and seven children. Came in two large metal pots. Easily this was the best meal of our trip. Used all the spice and butter it came with, gave a nice spicy flavor but the kids still liked it too. Would return if ever in the area. Would have been quite a bit more difficult without a gas stove top, I'd imagine. read more

Hooooollllly mother of god! This was the best thing we stumbled upon while staying in Carolina Beach. So much bounty, so freakin delicious and fresh! Everything was just spectacular! Got it to cook at the condo and it came with everything you'd need, including the pot to boil it in and very detailed instructions on how to do so. Totally blown away. Staying here with my son for the weekend. Didn't want to go out, but didn't have provisions to "cook" at the rental. Stumbled across them and happy we did! Customer service was exceptional. Portions are generous. Food was delicious and easy to prepare in one pot on one burner. Only recommendation would be to include a butter cup per "portion" - we were fighting over the tablespoon provided while eating the fresh crab legs. This was one of the best things we did! Nick was amazing so personable we had such a great time just talking to him! Then the food oh my goodness it was so good and well worth it having someone come and do the boil for us! We had amazing service from the start when I initially contacted the company to ask my many questions they were prompt with responses and even adjusted items that we wanted! We had a crab pot tonight and O-M-G! It was so delicious. The directions we're fun and easy to follow, so it turned out great! They even include the pot to steam it in. There was a ton of food, so tomorrow I'll make a chowder out of the leftovers! The staff was super friendly and helpful, you can really tell they love what they do. I can't really describe the dip and apparently it's top-secret because I asked for the recipe! Our friends ordered the beet salad with extra beets; shrimp Tapatio and a bowl of the soup of the day. All were delicous and there was not a crumb or a drop left on their plates while my husband and I were still eating ours! The soup of the day was a potato jalapeño cheddar and it did not disappoint! this seriously is one of the few consistent restaurants on the island! I'm still dreaming about my food this morning!

When I called out what I felt was homophobic treatment, one of the staff responded, "Yeah, and you still need to leave." That response only reinforced my impression that we were being treated unfairly. The staff was unprofessional, and I was shocked by how the situation was handled. Our group had spent well over $200 on drinks without any issue, but once they decided to remove us, none of that mattered. The entire experience left me feeling disrespected, dismissed, and gaslit. I would never recommend this bar to anyone looking for a welcoming or respectful environment. -100/10 experience.

There's also a stage inside for entertainment (which started later than we were there, but the band was setting up). We ordered the ahi tuna nachos, and I got a crabcake sandwich. My partner got black pearl salad. Food came out in under 20 minutes, which was impressive given the place was HOPPING. The ahi tuna nachos were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. They had bits of mango, a delicious sauce, really good nachos (made from wonton wrappers), and the tuna was amazing (served rare). It was about $20, but a very large helping. This would make a great meal for one person eating that alone. The crabcake was fine-- nothing unusual but tasty. I may not order that again, but it was good. My dining partner said the black pearl salad was really good and liked the blackberries, feta, and walnuts in it as well as the vinaigrette. Our drinks got refilled, and plates were taken away quickly when we finished any part of the meal. Our server was really nice, too. Clearly, customer experience is number one with this company! We utilized their at home boil service, and from our first contact with them, we knew that this was going to be a superb experience. They did not disappoint, they delivered first class service right from the very first inquiry we made. All of that being said, the best part was the low-country southern boil dinner! The quality of the seafood and other items was absolutely the best. Andouille from the New Orleans area was spicy and delicious, the shrimp were large and cooked to perfection (along with their own cocktail sauce which was not the usual ketchup & horseradish concoction), corn, clams, potatoes, corn bread and coleslaw. Ty set up our indoor table, fired up the burner, loaded up the pot, and presto! We had dinner on the table within 45 minutes - literally ON the table -- everything gets dumped right on the table, and all of the guests dig in. Ty had set everything up,cooked everything up, served us, entertained us with his local knowledge, helped us pack up the leftovers, made suggestions for the leftovers (andouille in eggs for breakfast and homefries from the potatoes and onions). and cleaned everything up. We did not need to do anything other than provide wine and cocktails, and then enjoy Ty and his magic. This is an experience not to be missed. We've always done our own low country boils at the beach, but decided to have Cape Fear Boil Company come cook for us this year and I am SO glad we did. The meal was exceptional and it was so nice not to have to worry about anything. Ty showed up right on time. He took a quick look at the house and recommended where to set up the meal based on the size and weather. A large part of our group was playing in the pool when he arrived and he gave us an estimate of about when dinner would be served and he kept us posted as he was preparing everything. It was amazing to kick back with friends and family, without anyone stuck inside, as the amazing scents of the boil started enveloping the neighborhood. I've got to imagine our neighbors were jealous. Everything was cooked perfectly. The sausage was amazing, the seafood was fresh and the vegetables were delicious. Ty set our table with several dishes of melted butter, cocktail sauce and their own take on old bay (which honestly kicks old bay's tail), as well as napkins and utensils. We also ordered some Coleslaw (which I highly recommend) and some pulled pork which was very good. At the end of the meal, Ty took care of clean up and packaged up our leftovers. All-in-all, everything was top-notch. An excellent low country boil!! Simple to prepare and fun to eat. CFBC sends you home with a prepared pot and all you need to do is follow the easy instructions. We've enjoyed their pots three times now. We wound up getting the BBQ this time too which was great. A few reviewers seemed to not realize that this is not a traditional restaurant. There is no "dine-in" option; it's "to-go" or they will bring it to you and cook it for you at your home as a catered boil. We've had the standard shrimp boil and also added mussels, clams, and crabs. It's all excellent! On our last pot we used a beer, rather than water and tossed in the butter that they gave us as well and it added a whole new dimension to the pot. Try it for sure! read more

The customer service is top notch - friendly, helpful and informative. The meal was so good and, I believe, the secret ingredient in their special spice blend is their love for what they does. Our order for four people had plenty of food for us. The shrimp, crab, clams, and sausage were delicious. Potatoes and corn were very fresh. Cooking was incredibly easy--you basically just add water or beer/wine and steam. For our stove, it took about 35 minutes. We took an entire family vacation this summer and Cape Fear Boil was the best way to dine with everybody. We booked in advance with Ty and they came on out right to our beach house! Our boil consisted of shrimp, clams, sausage, potatoes and corn on the cob! Everything was delicious. They also cook/clean everything up. They had everything ready in less than 45 mins. The seafood was so fresh and the price was very reasonable. Andouille Sausage - 8 Pieces of Sweet Corn - 10-12 Red Bliss Potatoes - Homemade Seasoning - 5 containers of Cocktail Sauce - Paper tablecloth (also used for cleaning up) - Instruction card I also ordered the following additions: - Extra Corn and Potatoes for $6. 00 - 2 dozen Little Neck Clams for $20. 00 - 1/2 pound Andouille Sausage for $6. 50 - 1 pound Kielbasa Sausage for $13. 00 - 2 Lobster Tails for $30. 00 The meal preparation was easy, involving just a few steps. First, remove the protein and add wine, beer, or water. Second, steam the vegetables for 30 to 40 minutes, depending on your stove.
