They were able to get me in for a same-day emergency appointment when I had a very painful infection that honestly scared me, and they handled everything quickly and professionally. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the office is very clean and welcoming. I also went back for a regular cleaning, and it was just as great, my hygienist was thorough, gentle, and made the whole experience really comfortable. When you make an appointment months in advance and arrange to take the time off of work you expect that appointment to be held. I understand that sometimes things happen and it might get rescheduled but when it happens for the third time over two years it becomes a pattern. I had a "deep cleaning" scheduled for 12/9 I was called early 11/28 and offered 1 possible slot that conflicted with another doctors appt. Making the effort to get this done under 2023 coverage has failed. I think it's time to find another one of these impersonal dental factory machines. What happened to my local independent dentist?? I had one for years in Los Angeles. I had one growing up in New York but in Florida they all seem to be part of a "chain". Poor service. Nice desk staff and hygienists but poor upper management. Do not see Dr. Wise. No bedside manner and wouldn't recommend to anyone. I recently lost my job and my dental insurance coverage will be ending August 30, 2024. I called Cape Smiles Dentistry to make an appointmen and they were able to get me in today for a new patient appointment. They informed me that this appointment would involve x-rays, full examination and a full mouth cleaning. After an hour and a half x-rays and examination, They informed me that I needed a deep cleaning that would cost me approximately $500 out of pocket. I informed them that I lost my job and unfortunately could not pay for this, so I would just like a general cleaning that was included in my visit and covered by insurance. They refused to do the cleaning. They stated that because I needed a deep cleaning, it would be unethical to give me a general cleaning. I informed them multiple times that I could not pay for anything other than what was covered under my insurance. I asked them if doing a general cleaning would pose any risk to me, and they stated it would not, but it would just be a surface cleaning. I stated that I was fine with a surface level cleaning because it was better than nothing. They still refused to do a cleaning. They are billing my insurance company for the full new patient visit, yet refused to provide the services that were included and covered. And because of this, I will be unable to make an appointment with another provider because it will not be covered by my insurance. What is unethical is refusing to provide any sort of treatment to a patient because they are not willing to pay out-of-pocket for what you think they need. If I went into the emergency room with a broken arm and an open wound, and my insurance only covered bandaging the open wound, as a doctor wouldn't covering the wound would make more sense than telling me you'll do nothing. Update: I called the office after an auto reply to my Google review and spoke with the office manager. She had another hygienist bring me in for a general cleaning. March/April 2022 I made an appointment, high demand so the scheduled visit wasn't for a month or so, everything was good until the day prior was told i have to go another day of the week - quite problematic, things happen, postponed. Today 02/03/2023 same thing. Made an appointment, showed up on time, couldn't even find me in the books after confirming my appointment yesterday via voicemail. yikes. best they can do is april for xrays. i missed the call on my phone but immediately called back on my fiancés phone and left a voicemail. the lady confirming appointments (both times i can tell by her accent) and she mentioned her birthday was March 25th, the same as mine. might i recommend locating her and retrain or completely rebuild from the top down. read more

I made my appointment, I had a very awful experience prior to calling this dentist. The prior dentist ghosted me and I had no bridge/ no front teeth. They were able to get me in fast/ the next day. The receptionist was very understanding and eased my mind. I did have another appointment that day across town but my teeth were my priority. My appointment was at 2pm it was 2:05 and I was not going to make it. I called and the receptionist asked if I could make in within 30min. I said that I would do my best. Unfortunately I could not make it and called the next day to explain. The receptionist remembered my voice and phone number. She said they had no open appointments till the end of the month. It was an emergency something that couldn't wait that long. I explained that to her and she was no longer so kind. I am glad I decided to look up their Yelp reviews because it sounds exactly like the place I wanted to get away from. My experience I was advised because of severe tooth infection, must be extracted! No other options would work, from the male dentist. Okay so one month later after a root canal success, I visited another dentist, who advised the tooth was fine and installed a nice crown! Either they dont care or are missing dental expertise. Been coming here now maybe 2 years? So far so good. They definitely treat me with respect and its a clean and organized office. They offer coffee and water on the way in, but probably better on the way out? I mean, coffee stains teeth, right? Anyhow. So far I've had a few cleanings, one consult for invasalign (my choice) and one extra recommended procedure which they haven't push on me. It's a business so I get it. My hygienist (spelling?) has been the same one the entire 2 years so she sort of remembers me. I feel like she does at least. Maybe she takes good notes. So, it goes quick. So far I've not needed any major things done so I'm in and out relatively quick. They speak Spanish which I feel is a big deal in this area so that helps. I'm bilingual so I don't mind English of course but I did refer my in-laws to try them out since they prefer a nice Cuban doctor or at least someone with a Cuban accent ha-ha. I have been going there for years, and noticed a continuous turnover in dentists and hygienists. I developed a sensitive tooth that I wanted checked. Concerned about being on high dose steroids and it's potential complications with dental work, I was shocked to hear my tooth had a crack in it next to the filling and would require a crown, I pushed back as there was no infection and told dentist I wanted to wait a few months until my doses of steroids where brought down as osteonecrosis was a big concern and infections could be masked as well. The dentist pushed back and said it needed done that day. I pushed back harder and put the date out a month. The sensitivity went away the next day so a red flag started developing in my mind. I scheduled a second opinion. There was NOTHING wrong with my tooth. This is medical fraud. Beware! read more

One of the things that we appreciate is how they walk each patient through the treatment plan and cost. It makes it easier for us to budget for each portion of the plan. My mom had a terrible experience here. She was experiencing a lot of pain and wanted a specific tooth in the back to be extracted -- she waited 4 hours total and the dentist had extracted the wrong tooth. Now my mom has a gap when she smiles. They wanted to bring her in for further treatment so we went in today, was there for an hour total before being told that the dentist didn't feel comfortable or confident in extracting the correct tooth. So my mom is still experiencing pain and we have to find another place to pay to get the tooth extracted! We wasted money and time here. Wouldn't recommend this office to anyone. read more

At first they were amazing, everything is so nice and everything went smooth for my cleaning, I had cavity's to be filled and they were doing them two per visit. The first time getting cavity's filled went okay. The Assistant was amazing but then after I got my numbing shots I was stuck waiting for almost a hour till they came back to do the work. Three weeks I went back to get two more filled and the same thing but I waited even longer till they came back for the work, I complained my first set of filling were hurting and without Checking or doing any test they shaved down my cavity saying it should stop well it didn't . A little after that I had the most pain I've ever felt. It became so bad I was crying everyday, I couldn't eat, could've touch my teeth together. I went in for a emergency appointment and they barely did much they took a X-ray of the one wisdom tooth that they did a filling on and after waiting 30 minutes they didn't explain anything just that I had a extra wisdom that apparently they never mentioned to me and they prescribed me antibiotics without even telling me what was wrong, just that I need my wisdom teeth out now when they said they were fine to keep. If I were able to give 10 stars I would! Not only is Dr.Joseph gentle and compassionate she has a wonderful staff. I have only been a patient since 5/2018 due to an emergency cracked cap...I'm a big baby (65 yrs old) LOL! My fears were extinguished immediately. On a personal note...I lost my sister 8/10/2018 and I was so surprised to find a sympathy card in my mail yesterday signed with personal condolences from each staff member along with Dr. Joseph herself.
