I came here for lunch to grab 2 salads! I ordered the Newbury Salad & Sally's Salad. I would rate these salads 4/5.. I mean.. it's pretty hard to mess up a salad. Ultimately, I'm giving 3/5 stars for the portion size. For almost $9... I got skimped out on my lettuce for the Sally's Salad. Side note, the worker that rang me out was very friendly! read more

Used to really like this place. Today I ordered my usual bacon egg and cheese with a hash brown and literally got blocks of potatoes. Could be due to new staff but still this is unacceptable, especially when a sandwich is 3.99 and hash brown is +$2!!!!! Beyond disappointed. read more

Good service with good food. We normally grab egg sandwiches or breakfast wraps. The rolls are fresh and the eggs cooked just right. For lunch I usually go with one of their specials. Either a PFC, Cuban or mayor Joe.. don't forget the baked items to finish. Either a cookie, Portuguese Custard, or a little cheese bread. The only negative is it can get pretty busy around lunchtime. Call ahead if you're in a hurry. They do try to get you in and out quickly but it is busy. read more

1st I have to say that the place is clean! Very important especially these days with Covid! My friends and I have been coming here for months and the food is overall good. You get a seemingly generic but nice greeting from the owners sister in law. The food and sandwiches are really good. Portions for the price are average at best. BUT $4 for a small sliced cup of fruit is outrageous! However half the time they mess up the order! Missing ingredients that show on the menu or when ordered in person. Recently I ordered in person 2 Breakfast wraps: 2-eggs(as it comes with) Steak, peppers, onions and cheese.....All I got was a steak and egg wrap. This is a trend by them(see other reviewers) and if it continues I will not be going there anymore! read more

We have been coming to this place since it was at the location across the street from the fire department. We have seen the deli change hands and staff over the last 9 years. I have decided today to finally review as not only had this place been our go-to deli for breakfast and lunch, now with the addition of Debora as the owner she is pushing boundaries in the best way with the great selection of bakery items. I stopped for a breakfast sandwich and a pastei de nata aka custard tart. Hands down they are the best in the area and great at customizing and sandwich you could think of. The staff is the friendliest ever and always so attentive. So glad to see the deli continuing the thrive! My favorite sandwich is the chicken pesto with cutlet chicken instead of the grilled, no tomato or lettuce with extra pesto Mayo. Breakfast would be a sausage double down or a sausage, bacon, egg and cheese with hash brown and ketchup. My other half enjoys their Italian sub and we always make sure to try to specials. In the summer my coworker and I love to order from here knowing everything will be made to perfection. The bread is so soft and everything just tastes handmade with love. read more

Not often do you have a world-class trained chef as the Owner, and her talents are evidenced in the tremendous choice of delicious sandwiches and wraps, with everything baked fresh early morning! Great brewed coffee and pastries, plus incredible food at very reasonable prices. What more can you ask for!! My new favorite food shop! I was craving a good salad (trying something healthy) I did a yelp search and came across this place. Looking at the menu I said the hell with a salad, I'm getting Al's Favorite! Chicken cutlet with melted provolone cheese with red peppers! Omg it's so good and it REAL chicken not that fake crap of mixed parts/rib meat. This is the worst deli I have ever been to. They are under new ownership, since then I've been in four times, each time I've had a simple order of a bacon egg and cheese and a ham sandwich for lunch. They have proceeded to mess it up every single time and give me two breakfast sandwiches. The last time I was there they couldn't even except debit cards. Best deli in Danbury. I hesitate to give it a great review because it's never crowded and I don't want the secret out but they are great. Very friendly staff, good variety, they always have interesting specials and like I said I never wait more than 5 minutes for an order. My only complaint is they close too early. If they were open later I'd probably get half my dinners there. read more

I used Capers Too for a Client Visit/Training. Al and his team were very attentive when helping me decide what to offer. The muffins were indeed baked fresh they were so moist, the Pasta Riccardo was great. My clients truly enjoyed it. I appreciate a vendor who takes the time to make sure we are happy. If I could give it a ZERO I would. This is probably my 6th time here, and while their food is only decent, their service is a complete ZERO. Today was the final straw. Called in a steak and cheese at 1155 and was told the typical "10 minutes" well, at 1220 when I arrived and had to wait in a line of 8 people waiting to order, I was told that my steak and cheese WASNT EVEN MADE YET! WHAT?????? There's ALWAYS ONLY 2 people working (1 to cook) and 1 to take orders/work/register/take phone orders AND to make the cold sandwiches. REALLY??? I've been going to capers as long as I've lived in Danbury, and their food has always been amazing. Al is a wonderful cook and is always friendly and willing to cook me whatever i want no matte the time of day! The other staff is always pleasant, and the deli is always clean and well stocked. I go here for here for both breakfast and lunch at least 3 times a week. I always get a sausage double down (sausage, egg, and cheese but double everything) for breakfast. The philly cheesesteaks and san diego sandwich (chicken cutlet with pepper jack cheese, bacon, and ranch) are the best sandwiches I've had in the area.
