No more. I've given up on this place. I went a few times in the past and it was "good enough." Unfortunately, the two most recent times I walked out very frustrated. Today, I ordered Crab Cakes Benedict and as they were being brought to the table I smelled a strong fishy smell and I have a weak sense of smell. I took one bite and lo and behold, it tasted off. I let them know and asked for just regular Eggs Benedict. She asked if I wanted Canadian Bacon and I asked for other options, and decided on regular bacon. I waited a little bit and they brought it out with Canadian Bacon, not regular bacon, I was about to just take it off and eat it but the girl realized her mistake and said she would fix it. By the time they brought out the "third" version we barely had any time left. It comes time to pay and the bill has Crab Cakes Benedict $20. I mentioned it to the server because what I ate was cheaper and she said "the kitchen told me to charge you that." Excuse me?! You mean the fishy, old crabcakes that could have gotten me sick? Not to mention the inconvenience of waiting. I honestly couldn't believe the audacity. Also, SHAME ON THEM for trying to get away with that--what about someone else that doesn't notice or just acquiesces to not be a bother. Also, two weeks prior when we went, we were about 50% done with our meal and my young daughter suddenly had to use the restroom--I left my keys on the table and smiled at the servers on our way to the bathroom. I come back and our food was thrown out and my keys were at the hostess stand. Really?? They offered to remake the food after the fact but I had to get my daughter to school and we didn't have time. Never again Edit to add my response to the owner's reply: Ron, I'm happy for you and your crab cake business. I love crab cakes which is why I ordered them--there's absolutely no reason for me to not eat them after ordering. To reiterate, within the first bite, I noticed they tasted off, smelled off too--I didn't care to chance food poisoning. In your reply to my review, your accusation that I'm "trying to hurt a small business" is an interesting, if not telling choice of language and one that's quite incendiary. I posted my review on Google & Yelp, the two places that I use for reference. It's curious that you view this as an attempt to essentially dismantle your business. This was the perfect spot to grab breakfast after my triathlon! It was right down the road from the ridgefield triathlon. The corned beef was cooked perfectly and I've never been able to pair it with a Benny! I loved that they weren't drowning in hollaindaise and it was the perfect amount. I really enjoyed how crispy the tater tot's were and had never had them in that shape/style before. It wasn't crumbly and the crisp was perfect. It's much bigger than it seems at first with indoor diner seating, covered patio seating and picnic tables in the grass. Perfect for spring to fall! The food was good. But the place is run down and dirty. The tables were not clean. I had to use wipes to clean it. They served us coffee and the milk (they serve it in a metal container) was spoiled! And not mildly spoiled. It had been sitting there a while. The glass of water had lipstick stains. And one of the forks they gave us had dried up food in it. Maybe it was an off day? I ordered the corned beef, because I heard they make it from scratch. They do. It was really good. I just wish the place was cleaner. I have been planning to go to Wooster Hollow Cafe in Ridgefield, Ct, a long time. Finally this Memorial Day a invited a friend to go have breakfast there . After having our meal, we were talking and having a good time and Everything was great until the waitress came to us and asked us to leave because she needed the table. My friend and I were terrified by this waitress attitude in asking us leave place because she needed the table for another party. We immediately left the place and told the waitress that we would never come back to that place again because of that. We got very frustrated because after spending $70,00 in a breakfast we were told to leave just like that . That was the first time in my life I experienced such a thing in a restaurant . This morning my Dad, Brother and Myself tried Wooster Cafe for the first time. I found out about them via their Facebook posts. First I have to say the owner Ron answered multiple posts of mine on Facebook. This is a man who cares about potential customers. I cannot tell you how many times Ive asked a question on a post or sent a message and got no response. When entered the restaurant we were greeted by Manuel (I believe the receipt said Manual D) our server. I have to tell you he was AMAZING - friendly, knew the menu, made suggestions, and kept my brother and Dad's coffee cups filled. My coffee mocha Manuel made it so pretty whipped cream, chocolate syrup and sprinkled. So much attention paid to just my drink. The food homemade brisket so good. I cleared my entire plate. Came here today for a quick lunch with a friend and was impressed! I always drive by here and saw how popular it was and finally got to try it! I ordered a Reuben with corned beef and sauerkraut and side of sweet potato fries. I also got a cinnamon roll to go which I haven't tried yet but looks and smells delicious. Everything was great! The restaurant is clean but the 2 waitresses on duty looked tired and not too happy to be working. I needed gluten free and our waitress acted like she didn't totally understand or care. My gf is medical and I said so. I was not made to feel I was being taken care of. The choices for me were basically nothing. They only substitute GF bread for regular bread and of course charge $2-$3 which they all do and I think it's unfair. At least deduct the $ for not eating the regular bread. So I was forced to order a salad which sounded ok but it was a $13 small bowl with romaine, some tiny feta , and a few olives. My dressing was oil and vinegar. In total this cost me $16 and I was so dissappointed. My friends meals looked great. I would not go back because I'm GF and this is not a place I can enjoy. Good diner with fair prices and attentive service. Went searching for a simple Sunday brunch and popped in here after a quick search. Got a table right away and had drink orders placed within minutes. The coffee was hot, nothing amazing, but did the job and the others in my party enjoyed their variations (cappuccino and latte). We enjoyed a stack of pancakes, scramblers and an Omlette which we all shared and enjoyed. If you're in the mood for a simple diner with good breakfast this place ticks the box. read more

I'm rarely up that way, heading to Danbury from Ridgefield, so I had made a mental note that I needed to try Wooster Hollow one of these days, yet I never got around to it. Since I've been self-isolating, I've finally tried Wooster Hollow through delivery, and when we're finally free from quarantine, I will definitely make a point of going there to eat in the future. I love all the variety of breakfast and lunch foods that they have. They have some classics and some unique dishes, but everything has their zingy spin on it. I've liked everything I've tried over the last few weeks, and there are many more dishes I look forward to trying. No matter what, I always have to get a bowl of the Mushroom Soup. It has just the perfect texture, a harmonious melding of broth and cream without being too thick or too rich. Today, I finally tried the Avocado Caprese Toast, and it is out of this world! It is so filling without being overly heavy, and the tastes are just so bright and fresh that it doesn't need any salt or pepper. I could gladly eat it every day! Anyway, I thank Wooster Hollow for getting us through this tough time with their delivery, and I look forward to visiting their establishment in the near future. read more

Nice local brunch and lunch place. Good portions and has a nice vibe. Owner is very friendly and welcoming, but the staff are hit and miss. Some are attentive, focusing on their customers, while others are either helpless or spend their time socializing with each other or the pretty girl at the counter. Food is good, but can be somewhat flavorless and uninspired. A nice place to drop in on when you have family or friends visiting from out of town, but not good enough to make it a weekly destination. Interior spacing was every other table, and tables were outside with an nice awning and several picnic tables as well. Food is fine as it was last time, but again the service just isn't there. This time everyone seemed to be extremely stressed out. Waitress came to take our order and when we started, she told us to wait while she found a blank page in her notepad. My kids were stuck on which items to order, and she became annoyed at their delay. She didn't make eye contact, but sighed audibly when they were deciding slowly. After that-- nothing. We were left alone with empty water and ice tea glasses almost the entire meal. Asked for a new set of silverware three times from three different servers before we got the replacement. When the food came, the server was overloaded with plates. He reached out to put one down, but then held it out for me to take. He asked, "Can you please take this from me?? It's hot and hurts." (Wasn't my plate.) One table next to us complained to the waitress that they had been waiting for a long time without their food, and other tables around them had been served even though they came after. When Wooster Hollow is good, it's great. When it isn't, it is disappointing. Overall, the food is very, very good. High quality ingredients, well prepared, brought out freshly made, generous portions. We usually go for breakfasts/brunches, so that is the focus of this review. There is the standard menu and a menu of specials, which often features seasonal produce and more non-traditional combinations. Both menus offer lots of gluten-free options, including bread, pancakes, and waffles. My gf spouse says these are all done well. The house coffee is good, and waitstaff keeps the cups filled. The place is cozy and welcoming, with rotating shows of work by local artists hung. There are tons of regular customers, which just adds to the sweetness of the environment. I'm a lover of pancakes, waffles, and French toast, while my spouse leans towards eggs. The latter are consistently good. Omelettes in particular are fantastic. The pancakes are less consistent. Sometimes you can taste the reasons they are beloved, while at other times they are flavorless and have an almost styrofoam consistency. The reason I'm only giving Wooster Hollow 3 stars is the service. There seem to be a fair number of inexperienced people in the front of the house, which sometimes delays seating new customers. The problem is magnified with the waitstaff. Many seem unfamiliar with the menu and don't ask simple questions like what kind of toast one wants with one's eggs. Sometimes they come back a couple of times to fill in the missing information, but sometimes either they or the kitchen decides for you. An example: yesterday I ordered a short stack of blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup. My pancakes, which were delivered by a different server, were visibly lacking in blueberries. When she placed my order on the table she said "your short stack of pancakes, with real maple syrup." I said "and blueberries?" "Yes, and blueberries. They're on the inside." Except they weren't. She reappeared a moment later to tell me that these weren't blueberry pancakes, that our waitperson hadn't put that in the order. She offered to get me a dish of blueberries, but I declined. I wanted the blueberries in the pancakes, where they often explode while cooking and are warm and jammy. A moment later our original server came back to tell us that she hadn't heard me say blueberries, but she could get me a dish of them. I again declined. Here's the thing: when an order isn't right, the waitperson should offer to get it right, including asking the kitchen to make it again. Neither waitperson offered to do this. When I declined their offers of blueberries on the side, they apparently figured there was nothing else they could do. At that point I didn't ask them to take them back and correct my order because I figured they'd just put some blueberries on top and bring them back - in other words, doing what I had already declined when they offered. Maybe they don't know what blueberry pancakes are (in which case they need training), or maybe they're afraid of getting yelled at by the chef. Whatever the issue, it didn't occur to either of them to offer the best, simplest solution: take them back and bring a fresh order, prepared as originally ordered. This wasn't the end of the world, it didn't ruin my day. But it was disappointing. I'm thinking that I'll continue to patronize this business, until the next time this happens. In the meantime, I should probably start looking for a new breakfast/brunch place. read more

Wicked good diner style place, super well staffed and very fast which was surprising. Every time we pass by the parking lot is filled ti the brim but it wasn't overly crowded today which was nice. They have ample seating including an outdoor covered patio in the back. We had Eggs Benedict Your Way and Lucky Charms Benedict which comes with spinach and brisket hash - delicious. I would come back for the brisket hash specifically. We also got banana walnut pancakes, and they do any sort of additional flavors inside the pancakes. Wooster Hollow is our go-to spot for an early weekend breakfast. They're usually busy around 8-9am, but we've never had to wait for a table. Our favorite dish is the Eggs Benedict with canadian bacon. It's absolutely delicious. The Hollandaise is velvety without being too heavy. Eggs are always poached to perfection and the seasoning level is spot on. The Blueberry Silver Dollar Pancakes are a hit with my toddler. They 're pillowy and taste homemade. We always order a side of berries, which includes strawberries and blueberries. These come out quick and complement the pancakes really well. We also like the French Toast BEC (bacon, egg, and cheese). It's really good, but heavier than our favorite Eggs Benedict, so we rarely order it. The latte is decent, but I find the iced tea to be too bitter, so I opt for the club soda, instead. Overall, Wooster Hollow is my favorite diner in the area. Although Orem's is more convenient for us, the food is superior at Wooster Hollow. The only dish I like at Orem's is the cheese blintzes. The Eggs Benedict and Blueberry Pancakes are subpar at Orem's. The service at Wooster Hollow is outstanding. Our toddler was on the cranky side one day, so our server came by and brightened his mood. Every aspiring entrepreneur should have a meal at the Wooster Hollow Cafe, regardless if you are opening a restaurant! From the moment you walk in it is clear the owner has a very good and efficient model for running his business. The staff are courteous and attentive and while they are working at a noticeably fast pace, they are not pushy. The kitchen is well organized and clean. The front of house is calm, cool and obviously in charge. The food is well prepared and has an elevated taste from what you normally expect from a diner. I had French toast with some very good smoked bacon. My wife enjoyed her eggs Benedict and said it was nice to see spinach as an option rather than meat. I was planning to have lunch here, but when I saw they served breakfast all day, and several of their lunch specials said, essentially, as good as the breakfast equivalent, a late breakfast it had to be. The coffee was hot and fresh, and my cup was refilled often. I opted for the breakfast bowl, which was a great way to combine many of my favorite breakfast foods. It also came out very quickly. The Cafe is very clean, and the staff are friendly. The artwork on the walls that was for sale was okay, but I liked better the kids artwork and thank-you's displayed just as prominently. We've been here several times. Lots of breakfast choices. You can add any ingredients to any choice. We had a "breakfast bowl" that was filled with lots of breakfast goodies. We also had Eggs Benedict with turkey bacon and spinach. Both choices were delicious. Home fries were good as well. Staff is very friendly and genuinely cares about your order and service. I wasn't going to bother to write a review, but when I see a four and a half star rating for this establishment, I have to think that someone stacking the reviews in favor of the restaurant. So I'm going to contribute my thoughts on breakfast. I set what I thought were reasonable expectations for this diner when visiting this past weekend. I wanted it to deliver good, hot diner food. I hoped it would be a notch above our two local mediocre breakfast joints, Dimitri's, and the Early Bird diner. The place was not even half full, and I mentioned this so that one can understand that there wasn't an overwhelming amount of pressure on the kitchen. Or on the waitstaff. I'll cut to a description here, just so that you can set reasonable expectations yourself. I ordered an omelette. With home fries. The omelette was delivered lukewarm. It wasn't cold, but it was close. The home fries were greasy, lukewarm, and not well browned, so a somewhat bland mush of potato. Another diner at the table had an order of pancakes. They were uninspired at best. The Belgian waffle was tolerable, but nothing to write home about. One diner had no cutlery and sat there staring at their food. Our request for the check was either forgotten or too much to ask for. We had to eventually stand up and put our coats on in order for a check to arrive at the table. I fully appreciate that this is a diner. I'm not expecting five star service, or five star food. I just wanted a nice cozy local diner experience.
