Corned beef hash, two eggs over easy and hash browns

This was the perfect spot to grab breakfast after my triathlon! It was right down the road from the ridgefield triathlon. The corned beef was cooked perfectly and I've never been able to pair it with a Benny! I loved that they weren't drowning in hollaindaise and it was the perfect amount. I really enjoyed how crispy the tater tot's were and had never had them in that shape/style before. It wasn't crumbly and the crisp was perfect. It's much bigger than it seems at first with indoor diner seating, covered patio seating and picnic tables in the grass. Perfect for spring to fall! Also a bonus for being dog friendly outside!

This morning my Dad, Brother and Myself tried Wooster Cafe for the first time. I found out about them via their Facebook posts. First I have to say the owner Ron answered multiple posts of mine on Facebook. This is a man who cares about potential customers. I cannot tell you how many times Ive asked a question on a post or sent a message and got no response. When entered the restaurant we were greeted by Manuel (I believe the receipt said Manual D) our server. I have to tell you he was AMAZING - friendly, knew the menu, made suggestions, and kept my brother and Dad's coffee cups filled. My coffee mocha Manuel made it so pretty whipped cream, chocolate syrup and sprinkled. So much attention paid to just my drink. The food homemade brisket so good. I cleared my entire plate. Thank you Manuel, Ron, & staff of Wooster Hollow Cafe we had a great experience.

Simple and solid. Basic brekfest bites we have only ever gotten to-go. In Ridgfield when it comes to food, keep your expectations low!

Expensive but pleasant for a diner. The largest salad I've ever ordered. Looks like I didn't make a dent in it!

Honestly, the food was very good and there are lots of sides that can be ordered by vegetarians,…read morewhich is unusual for a BBQ joint. Had smoked turkey and sides of the beans, potato salad and collard greens. The sides were all meat-free, which was great because a lot of BBQ places put meat in all their vegetable sides, too. Liked having two kinds of BBQ sauce on the table (one sweet, one with mustard), and the French fries were decent. My partner asked for lean brisket, and it actually showed up lean. Someone else at the table asked for it fatty, and that's how it came. I do wish they offered a platter with a choice of meat and two sides for a good price, like many BBQ joints, but in the end, I figured out how to make it work (hint: order a sandwich). Would come here again.

Besides the temperature of the food being cold, their haphazard management was inefficient , they made ordering changes for Father's Day Weekend, and the experience was highly disappointed. And for anyone traveling to try, know the brisket and ribs were extremely dry. My biggest issue, was that in my platter order, it contained the following low quality/low standards: 1) two ends from the point, and one end from the flat were in my 1/2 lbs of brisket- thats three ends. One looked like it was reheated from the day before- but this means an employee thought it was a good idea to put MULTIPLE brisket ends in one order. (Btw good bbq places make something called 'Burnt ends'-you should google that). 2) The pork ribs contained two rib points. Same issue as the brisket. This means an employee purposely gave my order the worst rib from two different racks. On top of that they were butchered and flavorless. 3) The star of the show, the $64 beef rib was an end cut (thats bad luck but...) and was dried out and contained no meat. They also did not call me when my takeout order was ready, (I had to ask about it, after 35 minutes PAST my estimated time, and it was just sitting there). It came with no BBQ sauce. 1/2 chicken was nothing to write home about, but at least it wasn't dry. The wings, RyThai Chile , were excellent, and I liked the blue cheese. I also liked the Brussel sprouts. The guy who took my order over the phone was great. I have never been to brother Jimmies but I suggest you go there over HooDoos. I would rather try a McRib over trying Hoodoo's again... No one should EVER travel here- this is just a good example of social media fame. Yuck.

Seating is tight: 75 patrons is just about right. Selections include good specials like the BBQ Grilled Cheese with chicken strips topped with bacon, with onion rings on the side. They are also known for their famous Dagwood Burger & classic Steakburger. Service was good on a packed Saturday. The place certainly has character, and maybe a tad more hip than your local burger joint. The real draw is a classic car show on Saturdays, where you will see classically restored collector automobiles in near pristine, showroom condition, while Bobby Darin or The Champs' "Tequila" plays over the loudspeakers. The advertising says it's 5p-8p, but I saw some people driving out their antique cars as early as 7:15p. The only issue I had was that our check had no prices, and we had to bring a copy of the original order to the front register. If you don't have a rough idea of how much your order was, you can easily get overcharged before leaving.
