They have a wide variety of tap beers and some ciders , big fan of the down east blueberry pie cider! For my main meal I got there ny strip steak and it was cooked to the correct medium rare temp. Unfortunately the "quality" of the meat was lacking, the meat was a bit tough and not tender as I'd like from a NY strip. Beautiful restaurant with ample parking. No problem with our reservation for 7 adults. Our waitress was very efficient, and she checked on us several times to see if we needed anything. The food was good, but there was room for improvement. I opted for the pork schnitzel with sauerkraut and German potato salad. The pork was tasty but very tough. I love going to Cap. It's a great place for a date, family meal, friend catch up or even a solo dinner at the bar! My boyfriend and I went and sat at the bar Thursday night and Stephen took excellent care of us. The beer selection here is huge so he was ready to make some recommendations when we had trouble deciding. I opted for a cocktail because the blackberry cucumber-tini sounded delicious and it was! We got the pretzel but opted to skip the beer cheese because their mustard is delicious. My boyfriend's hot buffalo wings were well sauced and cooked nicely. We really appreciate the "wing setup" with your very own paper napkins and wet wipes. We tried the brownie dessert this time and it was really good. I highly recommend the apple pie too! We came to this restaurant to meet our family that live in the area and celebrate my sister's son's adoption. I think overall the food came and was delicious. My fiancé and I shared the sausage and potato appetizer and he got the schnitzel while I got the black and blue burger. Across the table everyone's food looked great and we had a good beer recommendation that was light and refreshing against the rich German food we had. My sister's son is obsessed with hot dogs and he loved the spicy ketchup. We had a lot of servers making sure we had our food quickly, even though we had such a large party. If I gave any criticism at all, I was very hot in that part of the restaurant and would have appreciated more air conditioning in that room but that's it. Went for the Monday night burger deal, and it did not disappoint. We had 3 out of the 5 burgers and all were tasty, and so were the fries! I also ordered wings, which were not as crispy as I like, but that's a personal thing. Beer and drinks were good too. Ryan, our waiter, did a great job and we will definitely be back. We visited around 1:30pm and were one of only three tables in the entire restaurant. Our server appeared visibly out of it--possibly high--and completely dropped the ball. She forgot part of our order, didn't refill drinks even after we asked, and eventually disappeared altogether. I had to flag down the bartender, who told us, "Your waitress is busy," and reluctantly brought our drinks. By the time they arrived, our food was cold. To make matters worse, the manager was sitting just across from us on her laptop the entire time, completely oblivious to the chaos and poor service happening around her. No table checks, no accountability--just laziness across the board. The food itself was okay--not bad, but nothing memorable. Honestly, I'd rather have mediocre food and excellent service than the other way around. Not sure what's going on at this location, but it feels like no one is running the ship. Disappointing. I had a doctors appointment near by and decided to grab lunch early so I stopped at Capital Ale House. I ordered the spinach and beets salad and through on an order of wings at the last minute. Glad I did. Both came out at the same time, which I do not like. The wings where great, the salad not so good. I was expecting thinly sliced radishes and diced beets but instead I got A salad that was just thrown together. The salmon wasn't seasoned and I had a hard time finishing it. And I love Salmon. This is a solid spot that I wouldn't mind visiting again in the near future. I was in Midlo visiting an old friend. After catching up at her place, we decided on lunch nearby. This visit, though, proved to be interesting since we were bringing her infant twins. You absolutely know things will get messy. It was a quiet afternoon, so we were seated immediately. Service was excellent, especially with the twins fussing from the jump. But our server handled things eloquently as he was quick, attentive and kind. Their lunch menu (at the time - this visit was years ago) offered basic stuff - burgers, salads, wraps and the like. I actually had a shepherd's pie, which I enjoyed. My friend had a wrap, which she was barely able to touch because the boys were destroying their food. Capital Ale House isn't really built for infants, but it's obviously great for happy hour and the like. They were awesome, the food was good, service was great. Been there twice now for lunch. both times, the place was empty. both times, lunch took over 25 minutes to come out. today it was pulled pork tacos - an order that's already cooked and just needs to be assembled. i waited over 20 minutes, then asked for it to go. within 5 minutes it was done and packed up for me. so either the kitchen left the ticket sitting there for 20 minutes or the server left the food sitting on the line. the food was ok both times. not better than ok. either way, the same thing happened twice so i doubt i'll be back for a 3rd try. *very nice beer selection earns a 2nd star. read more

First time at this location. Food took a long time to come out, but our waitress let us know that the kitchen was backed up and kept us updated. Food was decent, but nothing to rave about. Ordered a burger medium rare and it came out over cooked. Mashed potatoes were incredibly salty. The French onion soup was not flavorful at all. Had a chunk of cheese on top of a piece of white bread that took up most of the cup. Inside was full, but not too loud that you couldn't hear your own table. No one at our table was thrilled with their meals, but it's about what you'd expect from a chain the day after a holiday. I met a couple friends here for lunch today. We were seated in a booth by the window, and social distancing and Covid safety protocols were being enforced. I ordered a sour beer to drink and the strawberry stuffed French toast from their brunch menu; added bacon. Our server was nice, but the food took ages to come out. At one point we all looked at our phones to check the time, at the same time. It took over an hour from sit down to food, so I'm glad none of us were starving. My bacon was good, but the French toast stayed on the griddle too long. I don't typically find charred French toast appealing, but the strawberries, cream and syrup helped to mask the black parts (see photo). The food was very good, and the ambience is beautiful. However, the service was a nightmare. I don't know whether the kitchen was understaffed or what. But our appetizers didn't get delivered until about an hour late, and our dinners got delivered about two hours after we got there. It just seemed like there was nobody around, and when I'd find someone, I would remind them, but they still didn't come. I've never been to a restaurant that was running this behind. I might try another ale house before I totally condemned the place, but I'm not willing to go back to this one. read more
