What a great brewery! I stopped in based on the great yelp reviews and was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and let me try several beers to help me decide. My favorite was the Perihellyan Pale Ale, so I got a glass and sat outside to enjoy it. There was a band playing inside and a pizza food truck outside. This place is dog friendly, also a plus for me. Very friendly and lively place. Good beer and live music several nights a week. The owner usually comes by my table to chat.

My wife and I stopped by here on our way through town. It is about a 10 min drive once you get off 288. This is a really nice place. It recently opened but they have a large beer selection. The one that we liked best is the Roll with the punches lager. You can also buy chips and salsa while there- They occasionally have a food truck there but didnt on the night we stopped by. The staff were really nice. There is indoor and outdoor seating. There is also a schedule posted for live music. The only negative that I saw is that parking is very limited. It is in a business complex. Maybe there is a place for overflow parking, but I didnt see it. They also have some cool shirts! Definitely will go back again! Def stop in! I am a big fan of RVAs beer/brewery scene! I never would have come or known about this brewery had I not moved to midlo. The beer is good! It's a parking lot brewery vibe like strange ways or what hardywood was at the very beginning. The outdoor seating is just metal furniture with a tarp-- no problem for me! Nothing fancy but I like it! Inside it's big! I did not realize but they have bands sometimes and we stopped in and heard some music there Saturday evening. Lots of fun. Bar tenders were awesome! They have a food truck or 2 every time I've been. I definitely recommend If you're sside -- check it out! read more

Love this spot! A true gem in Powhatan county. A great selection on tap - I've enjoyed everything I've tried (But especially their wheat ale & gose). The vibe is chill and the staff is super friendly. Cozy and inviting on the inside with a great patio area outside that even allows well behaved pups! There is usually live music & food trucks on the weekend. Some weeknights have trivia or bingo. I usually leave with 4 pack to go (or you can fill your growler). Don't overlook this awesome spot - it's convenient to Midlothian/Powhatan but definitely worth the trip from the west end or RVA! read more

We were shopping at Westchester Commons and I looked to see if there were any local breweries and I had hear of Crazy Rooster but wasn't sure how far out it was. I was glad to see that it is only a 10 minute drive from Midlothian. It's just across the county line. It is easy to get to and has plenty of parking. We came on a Saturday afternoon and as you arrive there is a food truck parked outside and they have about 5 tables for outdoor seating. As you walk in there is plenty of tables inside to sit. The place is bright, airy and inviting. We were greeted and given a draft menu. The bar is not open yet due to remaining Covid restrictions. I ordered a sampler and the beers did not disappoint. I really liked the late day shadow and it was excellent. Also had a few others including the rye and west coast IPAs. All were good but I really enjoyed the New England late day shadow. I picked up a 4 pack to take home. Prices are reasonable and staff was really friendly. We will be back. read more

Let the good times roll, featuring a hippie/ Grateful Dead theme in the decorations and ambiance. After a bit of a hike away from the city to just past the Powhatan county border, Crazy Rooster is another great addition to the Greater Richmond area's craft brewery scene. With a wonderful menu of beers, you get the usual offerings of stout, gose, lager, IPAs and DIPAs. There's an area where live music plays in the corner, and the event list of local musician talent is full and deep, but I'm taking a full star off my review due to the really poor sound quality in the lofty room that was clearly not designed for enjoying music. You can order beers online and pick up in the drive thru lane, so that's a bonus. read more
