I even recommended them to friends and family. Unfortunately, my recent experience was a complete disaster from start to finish. I hired Clutter again before leaving the country for a sabbatical. They showed up with only two movers for a large move, took long breaks, and couldn't complete the job. Despite offering to pay extra to hire or overtime more help, I was told that wasn't allowed and I'd need to reschedule--an impossible option, as I was flying out and giving up my apartment the next day. I ended up spending $1,000 out of pocket to move everything to a storage unit the very next day (finished 3 hours before my flight) so Clutter could pick it up from there, which they had agreed to. I left detailed instructions, made myself reachable internationally (phone, text, email, whatsapp, facetime, even my second phone), and got confirmation that I didn't need to be onsite. No one contacted me the day of pickup, yet I was charged a $200 cancellation fee. When I called to dispute it, they claimed they tried to reach me (they didn't) and refused to refund anything. The second attempt wasn't better. I appointed a family member as the point of contact and again confirmed that no one needed to be onsite. On the day of pickup, Clutter claimed they didn't have the gate code, lock combo, or unit number--we provided this over the phone. They were successfully and had even already opened the unit but then suddenly changed course and demanded someone be there physically or else they would cancel and I would be charged $200 again. I spoke to customer service while this was occurring and they said my two other separate colleagues were wrong, we need someone there now. My family member had to rush over and ended up helping move the items himself because the movers were essentially doing nothing. After weeks of stress, disorganization, poor communication, and unhelpful customer service (outsourced and seemingly disconnected), my belongings were finally stored. But the emotional toll, wasted time, and hidden costs were staggering. Bottom line: Clutter might seem cheaper up front, but the chaos, unreliability, and lack of accountability will cost you far more in the long run. What used to be an innovative service is now a disjointed, empathy-less mess. I will never use this company again and strongly advise others to stay far away. Things I foresee happening: -My storage space size will move into the next category -At the 8 month mark my rate will go sky-high -My items will return damaged. -Chris G will respond and offer to resolve this, but things will not move forward -They will retain their respectable yelp rating despite the abundance of 1 star reviews.

I knew this was the right place to house our belongings when I asked the manager during the tour if they had issues with pests or theft, and he was mortified and responded "what kind of storage unit would we be if we had pests and theft happening?!" (A response I had not gotten from a different storage unit I toured before finding R and 21st storage). He then went on to share with me all the security and pest prevention measures they take. Booking the unit was easy, the price was reasonable, and it's very clean and professionally run. They have ample available carts and do a great job with security. They also have ample parking. Also because there's only one entrance and limited hours, we felt especially confident in our items staying secure and in quality condition. Cons - the hours are somewhat limited (particularly on weekends when they close at 4) and because it's a fortress vs. drive-up it does take a bit more effort (and time if using movers) to get stuff into the single freight elevator, down the hall, into the unit etc. All that to be said, it was the "cons" which gave us a much better sense of confidence, security, and anxiety reduction leaving our belongings here. You will absolutely get an arm workout from the lifting the elevator rolling door up and down though! We can't say enough positive things about the experience and it's great that it's located right in the heart of midtown!

I called management and told them about 3 people I saw walking in on foot, without putting in a code, and just walked through the open gate, and they said..."oh well, we can't stop people from walking in". So it is not surprising that the lack of professionalism I experienced dealing with merely Summer and Alex leaves so much to be desired. First they provide you with a supposedly bonded quote, stating that that all of their workers are licensed and bonded. Please note that is a flat out lie! They show up with a pick up truck pulling a pod that has other people's furniture in it and then they don't even properly care for your furniture. They dropped several pieces they damaged various items and to add insult to injury they forgot to take a whole room of furniture. The people who showed up to move us were not employees of the company and then some random dude came over and stated that he was not employed by the company and the other guys were subcontractors. Then they kept changing the price, there was one original price then another price and now another price. We spoke to a very rude young g lady named Summer. We tried their 800 numbers but the person Jasmine never answered. Summer called and she illegally recorded the conversation by not stating she was recording. She called from a California number but then she said she needed to check the warehouse. Alex the driver said the warehouse is in New Jersey so that didn't make any sense. The phone number that they provide you with to escalate matters and the number that the Better Business Bureau has is 786-805-5046. Please call them! It is definitely NOT a relocation company. It makes you question is this even a real company? The Absolute Relocation. Services Supervisor, Summer demanded that if $2,500.00 is not paid the remains nor any of the items will not be returned.
