Kevin is certainly not a talker which I appreciate because his expertise is what matters and he went right to it. We stayed out of his way and let him work his magic, take photos, and find whatever issues there might be in the apartment. Beyond horrible experience!! Never use or trust this company for any type of inspection. Kevin never showed up for our pre-inspection today for a house we want to put an offer on. After speaking to him on the phone and texting yesterday all the details of our agent, house location, sellers availability, inspection needs and signing off on their paperwork we got a text that said he was in Baltimore and not coming at all today. My husband, realtor and I all learned this after he was already 10-15 mins late and I sent a text to see where he was. We never received a text, call or email prior to our scheduled appt about a scheduling issue or cancellation even after Lauren Richardson sent us a calendar invite for our appt. My husband, realtor and I all got on the phone to see if we could get another inspector to come on such short notice during our open window. Every inspector we called apologized for Kevin's unprofessionalism and said they would help to find if he has the proper licensure as they couldn't believe some one would do that to a client. read more

I paid for services on 5/30/2018 and have yet to receive a product. I have made numerous attempts to secure a final report via phone, email, and in person. To date, only one email response stating a report will be issued in 24hours. I even went to the physical address listed on their website and social media sites and they are no longer at the co-working space in DC. We hired Kevin to inspect a 425 sq. ft. coop in DC. While he was unable to inspect the radiators in the apartment to be sure they worked because the system was not on, a visual inspection, which he claimed he did, would have revealed water damage on the floor boards beneath one of the radiators. We saw this damage on our walk thru, and unfortunately, we thought we were in good shape, having paid for a professional inspection. Turns out, a few weeks after occupying the unit we learn that the radiator is cracked and is leaking and not only do we have to replace it but we have to pay for the water damage to the unit below our unit. A more careful visual inspection should have red-flagged this issue for us and we could have had it remediated before settlement by the seller. Seems like a reasonable thing to expect from a $325 inspection for such a small place. read more

Kevin made himself available the day after we went under contract which was extremely helpful since we only had three days to do the inspection. Kevin spent all the time we needed going over all of the issues with the property. He was very thorough and made sure we understood how we need to go about fixing all of the problems. Kevin is very experienced and does a very thorough job. His experience and thoroughness saved us from making a huge mistake on a home purchase. The house we were going to purchase had a facade that was the subject of lawsuits back in the 1990s, and Kevin realized this shortly after he started examining the outside of the house. He explained the issue to us in great detail. After the inspection we went home to research it and found that he knew what he was talking about. His price is higher than many, but he saved us from making a bad investment, and it was worth every penny. With his infrared camera, he can literally show you the inside of the walls. His regular camera is also excellent, and the pictures in the report are clear enough to see very small details. He was able to schedule an appointment the same week we called, and returned the report within 24 hours. He has a calm and professional manner. His reports are super easy to read. We have used him three times, and I hope he stays in business as long as we need inspections! read more

OK, so when you deal with someone yelling at you via phone and email, you must tell others so they can be warned. Kevin Richard did our inspection and while I understand inspections can't catch things that are hidden inside walls, they also claim that if a bookshelf is in front of something, in our case the MAIN water line, they claim that's why it wasn't inspected thoroughly. We found bad wiring in the basement that wasn't up to code that was clearly visible as the microwave was tapped off the laundry room. Then there was an inspector out to approve plumbing work I had done when finishing off the basement. He saw the main water line and asked why it wasn't called out by the home inspector. When I asked Kevin he was immediately defensive and at the end of the call I said I would do some research and call the inspector back and he said in a sarcastic tone, "good luck with that." He then continued to yell via email with exclamation points about how I wasn't listening or reading his emails. I said, I was simply sharing info that the inspector and licensed plumber told me. He is very defensive and not professional with his communication one bit and I would not recommend him or his company to anyone at this time. read more
