What a stupid investment. This bank keeps cutting back on services to the point that any marketing benefit for anybody that goes into one of these free cafés where they give away drinks to people that may or may not be Capital One customers would be an absolute idiot to sign up with this bank. For those of us that been duped into thinking that Capital One actually provides any service, go to ftc.gov and file a complaint for misrepresentation of what they do. They don't have a ton of tables/chairs, and all of them were taken beside the one huge table in the middle. I started working on my stuff there and then moved once someone left. I think the service was great, the employees were friendly and even checked in on me during my time there. The coffee was okay. The matcha was alright not gonna lie. The coffee was yummy. Not sure what roast they use but it has a strong flavor (and a good ratio of coffee to milk). The service was efficient and the cafe itself has a nice atmosphere to hang out. They even have private rooms I saw people studying in. Checked out this cute coffee shop inside the mall while holiday shopping. The place is adorable, WiFi is fast, there's an ATM, and coffee is fairly priced. I think the place used to be the Microsoft store and CapitalOne Cafe made great use of the space. The main reason for coming here is the coffee though and I'm happy to say that my drink was delicious! It was my first time here so the cashier recommended their signature drink, the honey lavender latte. I'm glad I went with his suggestion because it's one of the best lattes that I've had in a while. I'm very picky with the temperature of my hot coffee. Some places make it scolding hot to the point where you have to wait a while to enjoy your coffee. Some places make theirs tepid. The honey lavender latte was hot without burning your mouth. All in all I'm glad there's another coffee option inside Stonebriar. I wished they also made blended ice drinks, but from what I observed they got their hot coffees, iced coffees, and teas down. This location also sells coffee grounds, yogurt, baked goods, sandwiches, and season drinks as well as some banking needs. I didn't get a chance to see what else they offered but I have a Capital One account and will be back another day to check it out. The Iced Vanilla Latte was very solid! My only critique would be that the coffee was just a tad bitter. I also tried the Hibiscus Spritz. I thought it was fine, but my friends thought it needed some sweetener. Which brings me to my next point; there is simple syrup on the counter, so you can adjust your drink to your liking. 4 Star - Clean, presentable 3 Star - Coffee - Not bad. Did not stand out enough for price. I'm about the coffee tasting the way it should even with some sugar. Not about adding syrups and stuff to mask it. 2 Star - Service - Where to begin? The part that earns the star is they didn't mess up my order. Don't see how you can. They served it within minutes. The ones that made the drinks, good job. The cashier on the other hand, specific one that looks like she should work in back room or was in back room and made to work with the public. Never got a greeting or thank you from her. Never felt like it was inviting or that there's any sense of customer service. 1st time I had her, I asked the diff between the 2 coffee in tasting notes. Each time it seem like she can't say anything with a smile or cared to share the diff a bit more. As if I'm supposed to know their whole menu and spiel. Kind of expecting the cafe to be similar. Apparently not. I was hoping it be a neat place to go to now and then. But after the 2nd visit, not interested nor would I recommend. I did a lot more behind the bar in my days that would be a combo of all of them in 1. They have it nice to have a cashier, then barista and a mgr around. Try being all that in 1, keep your cool, make it look easy and still know your regulars. But also genuinely want to know the clientele and make sure they're taken care of. It doesn't matter if an item is $1 or $100+, you treat them like they matter. To know a full on dining menu along with a full bar. Don't care what age you are and where in the world or any era. If you care to learn things in your work and engage with people more to learn what you couldn't in class or any where else, it's a gain for you. Each day can be a learning experience that helps you in advance in life or it can hold you back. It comes down to mind set. The ones who are always learning to get ahead, it shows and people notice it. That's when you get the attention of folks in position to hire and offer things that you would not think in such a setting. I wish the staff all the best. Barista guy was pleasant during our brief interaction which was this: Me: Do you have any sugar-free syrups? Him: No, sorry, we do not. At this point, if I had been provided ANY hints I'd get 50% off as a C1 customer, I would have found something to order to revive me as I think I died of boredom in my surroundings. There are a lot of corporatey slogany signs in there that serve no purpose. Also, a Canva-looking menu for the indie coffee shop feel. Pick one you guys, the juxtaposition is unnerving AF. I have been to this location quite a few times over the past few months and have never had . The staff is always friendly and helpful. It is one of the few cafes in the area where I can get a matcha latte that is made with real matcha powder and not a matcha powder mix with added sugar. The dining area is always clean and presentable. There's lots of seating and three private community spaces that can be used on a first come first served basis, perfect for study groups or solo study sessions. My orders were always made the way that I requested them to be made. In addition, if you use your Capital One card you will receive 50% off any handcrafted drink. There aren't any other cafes in the area that offer such a deep discount on quality drinks. Overall, I believe they are a solid contender in the coffee/tea market in the Frisco area! read more
