I feel like ownership has changed. I'd visited prior to today multiple times and the employees never seemed to have any urgency, but would talk and stand around. This visit two wonderful women were behind the counter. While they chatted a few minutes before noticing I was waiting to order, they were attentive and present while I ordered, asked questions and even gave me the recommendation of "almond croissant over chocolate", and "you have to get it warmed, it is so good!". So I did. My almond milk latte was okay, nothing special and while the almond croissant was good too, it was nothing special. To be honest the only reason I trekked to this out of the way spot was because I had a gift card I wanted out of my wallet. The parking situation is absurd and the way the traffic goes, getting in and out of the parking lot can take a while. I'm glad this visit was a good one and it will leave a fond memory in my mind when I think of Karmic Grounds. I don't plan on making this a destination or plan to visit again, but if I was in the area and craving coffee, I wouldn't run the other way. read more

Dropped in after lunch for a pick me up in the form of a double espresso. The standard pull is an Onyx Ethiopian, and my shot was great, nice temperature, good crema, and a rich flavor that, while not a killer shot, had no bitter or sour notes. The place was experiencing a slow time, so the baristas were tidying up. The space is nicely appointed, the service areas were impeccably clean and well organized. A number of customers were enjoying drinks with their laptops. Overall, a nice place to go for coffee! read more

This study cafe spot was solid. The caramel Machiatto was fairly decent, just make sure to clarify hot or cold because I forgot to and got it hot. The matcha was really good and definitely recommend it. I think its a good study spot except for the fact that there is not many outlets. Besides that, the cafe is really well decorated and has a good modern feel to it. The staff were super chill and nice as well. Solid spot. Karmic was a pretty good place to get work done, for both students and workers. Plenty of great seating, both inside and outside. The baristas were really nice and seemed super conversational with their customers. I got one of their seasonal coffee drinks (something to do with Girl Scouts cookies) and was decent (I forgot that I despise coconut, but it would be nice for those of you who like it). Also got the GOAT (just an avo toast so it's pretty basic). But everything else on their drinks and food menu sounds appealing. Oh! And they're dog friendly! Bring your pups! read more

What a cute coffee shop right in the mix of things in Frisco. It sits attached to an apartment complex so you will find parking marked for Karmic customers only during the day. I was surprised by how big the cafe is... from the outside it doesn't look like it but once you walk in there is plenty of seating and even their outdoor patio seating is spacious. I would not recommend this place to anyone! If I could give it zero stars, I would. After a long day, I invited a close friend to meet me at this coffee shop so we could catch up. When we arrived, we looked over the menu and had a few questions, but the employee taking orders seemed busy. Not wanting to interrupt, we decided to sit down and talk while we waited. About 15 minutes later, the owner approached us and made a comment about us "just relaxing." Confused, I asked what she meant. She responded by saying we were not welcome if we weren't going to buy anything and questioned how we would feel if we owned a business where people didn't make purchases. We were honestly taken aback. We tried to explain and even asked if we could at least purchase water in the meantime, but she refused, stating that water was only available with a drink purchase. She continued to emphasize that we were not welcome. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was that there were several other people sitting and talking, yet we were the only ones approached. When we questioned this, she dismissed it by saying, "at least they are outside." The interaction escalated to the point where she threatened to call the police if we didn't leave. Throughout this, she continued to make comments about us and refused to serve us. This experience was disappointing and unprofessional. As a business owner, creating a welcoming environment should be a priority. Customers should feel respected, not singled out or embarrassed. read more

I love this coffee shop! I would give it a more a 4.5/5. The interior of karmic grounds is so beyaituflIn contrast to the pictures posted online, during the day time it has such good light coming in from the back of the shop. It's really beautiful! I believe it's conjoined to an apartment complex which is amazing for those residents. In terms of coffee I got a banana foster latte and it was alright but not my favorite. I wanted to try something new so I didn't mind. I got a bacon bagel sandwich and unfortunately I didn't like it as the pesto wasn't my fave. It gets busy so be prepared to wait - I guess people from all around know this place. Also even on weekdays it gets busy. People like to work here. There are outlets but not many. Wi-Fi works great. I tried this location out several times while in town for work. First time service was slow but had a good cup of matcha, the 2nd time I saw a big no no. The barista put a plastic cup underneath the espresso which can cause the plastic particles to melt into the cup. Not sure if it was a lazy thing or if they didn't know what they were doing. A perfect balance of flavor and not too spicy. The grinch matcha was literally amazing. I love that their matcha doesn't taste like grass. The barista suggested which milk to add so I went with that. EDIT: The owners response is tone deaf to the customer service aspect of what happened. I understand how it's made but I had weekly meetings at this location and loved the cold brews and never THIS BAD. Will encourage others to not support this business and to try another coffee shop. Can we please get better baristas at this location. There was only a little bit of cold brew left and I watched them fill up my cold brew with water. I asked for a remake and received so much sass and the drink was still ass. Went and tried again another time and the coffee was sour and burnt. Same baristas and same attitude towards everyone. It's a young thin girl dark hair and the other is a yellow blonde hair thats short both super oily hair. I used to come here all the time when it first opened because it was close to home, I liked the staff, and the coffee and pastries. Now I despise it. Particularly the location in Plano off Ohio. Today I visited in what was likely almost a year because I just wanted to be out of the house on a patio since it wasn't too hot today and I thought I'd give it another try. Ordered a chocolate chip cookie. They were out. Only had oatmeal raisin left. Fine. I even made a joke to the girl helping me that it was sad raisins looked too much like chocolate chips because it's deceptive to which we both laughed. Instead of the cookie, since it was lunch time, I decided to order a Margherita flatbread because I was hungry. Girl at the counter told me she'd bring it out to me after I told her I was going to be sitting outside. I said I could come in and get it but she insisted she would bring it out. I asked her how long it should take, she said 5 min. I waited about 10 before I went in to see where it was. The girl who took my order looked over into the kitchen like she had no clue where it was, like she thought it was still heating up. I then saw a box to the left of the register on the counter. Asked her "is THIS it??" and she looks over and smiles "oh yeah! That's it". Apparently she was too busy chatting it with the boy sitting at the counter to bring it out like she promised. It sat on the counter looking pitiful in a cardboard box. Took my box outside to the dirty couches (I put my jacket down to sit on it), opened it, and you can see by the pic what I got. Room temp (but closer to cold), Easy Bake Oven flatbread made with cheap pasta sauce, Walmart flatbread, and dried basil sprinkles. I spent $10 for THIS??! Fool me once, well...shame on you and you won't get me again. This was a sorry excuse for service AND food. I'm even thinking of throwing out the coffee mug I bought from them years ago I'm that mad at today. Just another reminder why I don't come here that often anymore. It's really gone down hill every year since it opened. Except the coffee (when it's not too acidic) which that, and the overall interior aesthetic, is the ONLY reason I gave them two stars. I love the ambiance of Karmic Grounds! It has such a calming vibe and the decor really hits the spot. Their menu has so many interesting options as well. I was hoping to try their seasonal blue butterfly matcha latte but they were unfortunately out of one of the ingredients for it. Settled on a simple iced matcha latte with their onyx delight flavouring. The actual latte wasn't that rich, and I actually prefer my Starbucks matcha latte instead. I ended up paying around 8 dollars for a drink that I didn't really enjoy. That being said, the barista was so nice and I'm definitely going to swing by to try one of their more interesting drinks. read more

I've been pushing of a review for this cafe but I finally have a reason to write one. I have been a loyal customer for years, since it first opened. The coffee was DELICIOUS, they would make their mochas with chocolate shavings instead of mocha sauce, and words are not enough to describe how cozy the flavor in the coffee was. In general, I think the quality just used to be amazing back then. I believe in the last 2ish years, the quality has gradually dropped, it's not terrible coffee these days but nothing crazy and worth the cost (especially for the classic drinks). As I am lactose intolerant, I always go for milk alternatives, and this location's karmic has the worst oat milk ever, like any drink I've had with oat milk has been really bad unfortunately. It's really disappointing because the cafe itself is gorgeous, spacious, with tasty pastries and meals, but their coffee is such a let down. My last drink with Karmic as of last was an iced matcha latte with a shot of espresso and mocha sauce, and (tmi) I had terrible stomach pain and GI upset from their drink. Ambiance and service are great, but if you're going for coffee, I'd think twice. read more

Karmic Grounds is wonderful! The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. The interior is super cute and the pod for working is really cool. I might have to use it one day. Yesterday, I tried the seasonal black forest cake latte. It was so delicious! It was definitely on the sweeter side, but I could clearly taste the chocolate and cherry flavors. Stopped by while in the area for a wedding and I got the Chai Tea latte, super good! The staff was extremely friendly and decent sized seating inside as well as outside. The coffee shop is attached to an apartment complex so parking may be limited but considering it's a coffee shop, people usually don't stay too long. Outdoor patio is also pet friendly, saw a dog bowl. My husband got the specialty coffee with pistachio (super good!) and a breakfast bagel sandwich with pesto. We walked in and weren't greeted but there was two workers there at the time. They didn't have any music playing so it was honestly kind of awkward for a first timer... Love the interior design! Located on the lower level of an apartment complex. There is plenty of parking on the right side of the entrance (by empty lot). There is a quaint green space with trees and benches. As you approach the coffee shop, don't get it confused like we did and end up inside the leasing office lol, it's on the outside by the patio. The lattes are dreamy, creamy, delightful delicious! Will definitely be back to try their pastries. Plenty of outdoor seating and inside seating too. Staff wore gloves and mask and they are enforcing a mask. I love that they also provide hand sanitizer. read more
