Interiors of the cafe was very welcoming and there's plenty of seats for you to relax or work remotely. There's also staff around if you are interested in learning more about opening a Capital One checking or savings account. If you take their quiz you can get a free drink for a future visit! Located in the Irvine Spectrum, the Capital One Cafe is a nice place to stop by if you need a break and some refreshments. There's plenty of seating, wifi and charge ports if you plan on getting some work done in here. Enclosed mini-meeting rooms are also present if you need some privacy with your team. I went with my regular lavender honey latte. Even though it was warm outside, I always order this hot. This is a great drink to slow the day down and hang out until you're ready to make your next move in the mall. I recently found out there's a Capital One cafe at the spectrum. I was super excited to try it out since cardholders get 50% off drinks and it's a cute study/work spot. I wanted to try some of the food and grab some coffee. They have a seasonal menu right now with blueberry ube lattes and coconut pineapple refreshers. We drove out 45 min to try them! Yet when we arrived, there wasn't any seating sadly so we decided to wait around and order the coffee first. I decided on getting an iced blueberry ube latte while my partner was getting a pineapple cold foam latte. We went up and the barista wasn't very friendly yet I ordered my drink but sadly they didn't have any of the blueberry flavor today :( I went to order the pineapple cold foam latte instead and she said "so actually we don't have any flavors or seasonal drinks". So all they had was the basic lattes and coffees. I decided it really wasn't worth ordering anything then since we wouldn't be able to grab a drink. I highly recommend stocking up on seasonal flavors or put up a sign to let people know you're sold out. I also HIGHLY recommend making the lounge/cafe area for cardholders or guests of card holders only. It was wayyy too busy. I love all of the drinks here! The strawberry cold foam matcha latte is the best, other than the lavender honey latte. I like it more than Starbucks, and hope the strawberry stays on the menu. I'm a huge fan of Capital One Cafés, as they're fantastic spots with fast WiFi to get some work done and a discounted beverage if you're a Capital One member with a valid credit/debit card. I've worked from the San Francisco, Santa Monica, Walnut Creek, and Irvine Spectrum locations. The Irvine Spectrum location falls short compared to the other three. The space is simply too small, and seating is scare. What little there is doesn't feel the most comfortable. Despite glass walls that allow in a lot of natural light, the yellow lighting inside the café is dim and not the most conducive for working. In the future, it'd be great to see them optimize the space by removing the couches (super uncomfortable and don't offer any back support), adding more tables and chairs, and switching to cooler, brighter lighting. I love coming to the Capital One Cafe. They serve Verve coffee here. I also like that they mix up the drink selection with seasonal drinks. In my most recent visit, I got the cherry matcha latte which is part of their seasonal spring menu. I've also gotten drinks from their autumn menu, and drinks from their normal menu. I like their matcha drinks and teas a lot. They have customizations like changing the milk and sweetness. Everyone here is really nice. The only thing is that it's very limited seating because a lot of people come here to study. Since it's at Irvine Spectrum, it also gets a lot of foot traffic in general. No restrooms in the cafe so you'll need to go outside for the nearest one at the mall, which isn't very far, but can be a bit of a bummer because you'll lose your seat (unless you have someone with you). I drove here from Huntington Beach thinking they could get me a withdrawal which would not take the usual two days online. Alas, I was informed you need an ATM card. I was greeted by a gracious young lady who said she would figure out how to help me. She explained what was needed and spent well over a half hour getting me a credit card to transfer funds through Zelle and walked me through everything. PARKING: Parking in the Irvine Spectrum structure. Can be chaotic but you'll find a spot. WHAT I ORDERED: Iced ginger snap latte THE COFFEE: This was pretty good! Nothing mindblowing, but I appreciated that there were nondairy options, and the flavor was pretty balanced with the coffee. The espresso was pretty good. SERVICE: The baristas were swamped when I arrived (weekday around 5 pm), but they were definitely kind and provided great service regardless. VIBES: Honestly, this place is a good study spot in theory, but it's just too crowded to make this a spot I'd come back to for remote working. With the bar seating (outlets at every seat, virtually), the nooks, outdoor seating, and comfy chair/sofa seating, I can definitely see this being an ideal place if it were emptier. Yep, one star. It's a good looking coffee shop, but It's pretty clear this whole setup is designed to lure people in with coffee and gently slide them into opening a checking account. As soon as you step in, you get that feeling: modern chairs, sleek lighting, and someone at a desk nearby who, within minutes, casually walks over to ask if you know about Capital One's services. I get it, it's marketing. Harmless, really. So I go up to the counter and place an order. The drinks on the menu looked decent, a little overpriced for what it is, but I figured I'd try their cappuccino. Stood in line, waited a few minutes. And then came the punchline. When it was time to pay, I pulled out my phone like I do at literally every coffee shop I visit. And the barista/cashier tells me: "Oh, we don't accept Apple Pay or Google Pay." Let me say that again: A bank doesn't accept digital payments. I stood there for a second trying to absorb and after "Well, I guess no coffee for me tonight," drop - walked out. Located right in the center of the Irvine Spectrum Mall, Kowloon Cafe is such a cozy spot, perfect if you're looking to take a break from shopping, get some studying done, or knock out some work. The inside is really clean and modern, with plenty of seating that makes it super study and laptop friendly. I ordered the iced mojito coffee, and while it was pretty good (I'd rate it a 7/10), it was a little too sweet for my taste. I usually enjoy drinks where I can really taste the coffee itself, but the sweetness kind of overpowered the espresso. That said, if you're someone who prefers sweeter drinks, you'll probably love it. Shoutout to the cashier who helped me, she was super sweet and helpful when I asked for recommendations. I've visited a few Capital One Cafés -- Santa Monica and Downtown LA -- and decided to check out the Irvine Spectrum location this time. Right off the bat, parking is a huge plus here. Compared to the other two locations, this one has the best situation: just park in the structure. The Spectrum can get packed, especially on weekends, but we still found a spot easily -- just had to head up to the top level. This location is a bit smaller than the others, and the ceilings aren't as high, so it doesn't feel as spacious or open. That said, there's still plenty of seating -- lots of two-seater tables, most with outlets, and a couple of study rooms. It did feel a bit noisier, likely because of the smaller space and higher foot traffic. The other locations are better suited for quiet, focused study sessions, while this one feels more like a casual work or hangout spot. Drink-wise: my friend got the caramel latte and found it a bit too sweet for her taste. So if you have a sweet tooth, that might be right up your alley. I ordered my usual -- a matcha with honey lavender (just asked them to add it in). One pump vs. two definitely makes a difference. One pump is more subtle and balanced, while two pumps really bring out the lavender but also amp up the sweetness. Both versions are delicious depending on your mood! Ok first off, they serve Verve Coffee from Santa Cruz rated one of the top coffee shops in the country. And yum were the drinks delicious!! I had a Flat White & my Son had their Pumpkin Pie Latte. He said it's one of the best he's had this season!! NOTE: If you pay with a Capital One card your drinks are half-price!! The shop itself is beautiful and filled with lots of seating options with the coffee bar located in the center. The barista staff is friendly, make great drinks & keep the place spotless. In addition to all that there are also bank representatives that greet you when you come in and explain the shop concept which includes providing banking services. Why do they even call themselves a Bank / Cafe? This is no bank. They are useless with banking issues. The bank has held my family member's money for over a month. Filing a complaint with the CFB. Numerous AI generated emails saying the money is one the way, then it isn't. Normally I really appreciate this cafe and the perks available to Capital One credit card holders, but recently the cafe has blocked off their bathrooms and now they're for employees ONLY. So in a place where everyone is imbibing coffee and tea (both diuretics), there is no longer a place to use the restroom. That's not what I consider great or even good customer service. read more
