Got down to brass tacks and set up an installation date. I was concerned about ongoing maintenance etc. and asked about filling the salt tank etc. I decided to add the water dispenser to the system and that was to be put in the kitchen. Again I asked about service and replacing filters for the water dispenser. I do not recall much about the guy who installed the system other than rather than asking me to have my roommate move her car so he could get out he crossed into my neighbor's property, went down their driveway and hit a telephone pole for his troubles. After I paid my $5,000 to have this system installed I called the office as directed by my home health aid to ask for a rebate form. I called and spoke w/Cathy/Cathie/Kathy. She did an excellent job at making me feel retarded. I apparently did not know what I was talking about and was quizzed about w/whom I spoke. Well after that conversation it was quite clear that this unhelpful nitwit was to not only never confirm/deny or mention in any way a refund which is available but to run people in circles who ask about the $. I was originally going to have the job split up into two jobs but because my health is not the greatest we decided to get the installation done all in one fell swoop on one day. After my horrible experience with Cathy of the Unhelpful Nature I called the Culligan Home Office. I spoke w/a gentleman who asked that I email him directly and he would see what he could do. Never heard from that guy. Never heard from anyone about annual inspections, salt fills or anything. The topics only resurfaced recently when my builder was looking at my setup in the basement and I commented on the interesting experience. The actual equipment itself I would give five stars. The overall human component gets a rock solid ONE star. With so much competition and and alternative products, companies etc. this whole episode was baffling. My advice? Skip Culligan and spend your money elsewhere. That's all.

Culligan caused a flood in our finished basement. Rather than replace the practically new carpet…read more(installed 11months ago), they will only provide a cleaning service which set up deafening industrial size fans that we have to listen to for 3 days and which render the finished basement and laundry room impassable. I tried to go downstairs and tripped over the maze of electrical cords from the fans. We have been a customer for over 30 years and Culligan is offering a cheap, unacceptable BANDAID for a problem they caused. A fair solution would be to rip out and replace the 11 month old carpet.

I called them after I had a pipe burst in my garage after a cold snap. This happened on a Sunday…read morenight, and after they made sure I got the water shut off, they showed up the next morning to repair the pipe. Anthony was very professional, and he quickly found the source of the leak and changed out the pipe. Then he put in a new shutoff and a drain valve to ensure that this won't happen again. Two gentlemen showed up at 4pm. They said there was "too much water in the pipes". They removed my toilet and sent a snake down and put in some chemicals. Said they would charge extra to put the toilet back on. Told us if that didn't work to call them back and they'd come with "a bigger snake". Charged me $544. I called back that night as it obviously did not work. Night receptionist had no idea what I was talking about or that I was even a customer. Said she would have the owner call me. He did not. Called the next day and again was told the owner would call me. He did not. Called a different plumber on Wednesday who actually jetted my pipes. He also said the snake actually made it worse by pushing more down. I called the amazing receptionist again who said the owner offered me 10% off. $54 dollars. They did not do what I specifically called them to do -jet my pipes. I think it was going to be a long, messy job and they didn't want to do it, so they threw a snake down and charged me $544. If you need your pipes jetted, call Lamprey septic. They were amazing.

Paid for a routine cleaning service. A couple months prior I installed a new oil burner along with…read morea few other components. It ran a little rough for a couple months with no real issue but decided to get a professional to adjust the air and etc. So to start the tech who did the service over tightened the thread on the drawer assembly cross threading it and causing it to leak an insane amount two days after service. An emergency tech comes to tell me that it probably was like that from the manufacturer (even though it was running fine before the service and I personally installed and inspected the drawer assembly two months prior.) He proceeded to tell me that it would cost $500 or more to have it fixed... gave them the benefit of the doubt just to be ignored and blocked by them. After installing another drawer assembly, I thought all would be good. But the tech did not tighten the set screws enough and the oil burner had fallen out of place causing a bunch more combustion issues. Also had to buy a stand for the burner to prevent it happening again. The oil pressure was also jacked all the way up( I assume by the emergency tech because it was leaking) instead of telling me any of this I had to fix it on my own. I was going to let it go until I was ignored and blocked. I get companies have to make money but it's the bare minimum being honest. And if you were an honest company you would have helped fix the problem you caused instead of gaslighting me and saying it will cost 500-700$. Especially when the part is less than 80$ and takes less than 10 minutes to swap.

Jay was great, discussed multiple options, but was honest and up front that the tech guys would have to come out to really evaluate the feasibility and design of the project. Good indication of integrity up front. Tyler, the co-owner and lead installer, came out several days later to do a more thorough evaluation. Extremely courteous, professional, polite, and accommodating. Highly knowledgeable as well. Explained all the options and designs, and their pros and cons. No sales pitches etc. Just the facts. Really made the effort to preserve the character of our older style home. When his team started working, all very courteous, professional, knowledgeable. Showed up with masks and booties to protect our floors. Worked quickly and efficiently. Tyler was there the whole time, welcomed any questions, described exactly what they were doing and why. The finished product is superb, and blends perfectly into the house. All the work was done with the outmost attention to detail. When we ran the heat last night there was a problem, it would not shut off. I called Tyler, he called me back within 15 minutes, and was at our house within a half hour. The problem turned out to be an old defective valve in the pre-existing pump (which he could not have known about at the time). He worked to diagnose the problem and fixed it on the spot. Really cannot ask for anything more. Tyler and his team are superb. They should be teaching seminars on customer relationship building. Lastly, about the price. Are they the cheapest HVAC contractor out there? No. But their quote was very competitive. You may pay a little bit more than the cheapest bid, but you will not find his level of perfectionism anywhere else.
