Great experience from start to finish. RJ thoroughly explained what we needed and didn't try to up-sell anything we didn't. We love the softening system we purchased, it has made such a difference on our appliances, skin and hair. We also purchased the RO system for clean drinking water. We have an extra faucet right at the kitchen sink with a Fast flow! No more waiting forever to fill a cup at the refrigerator. With all the bad water tests all over Londonderry from St. Gobain, I know my family is safe. Thanks Second Wind!

    Brand new water softening system!

Ask the Community - Secondwind Water Systems

What is involved in DIY maintenance?

The answer is that it depends upon what the equipment is. Many systems have cartridges that need to be changed 3-4 times per year, or annually if a drinking water system. Changing must involve disinfection as well. Neutralizers need to be… Read more

Got down to brass tacks and set up an installation date. I was concerned about ongoing maintenance etc. and asked about filling the salt tank etc. I decided to add the water dispenser to the system and that was to be put in the kitchen. Again I asked about service and replacing filters for the water dispenser. I do not recall much about the guy who installed the system other than rather than asking me to have my roommate move her car so he could get out he crossed into my neighbor's property, went down their driveway and hit a telephone pole for his troubles. After I paid my $5,000 to have this system installed I called the office as directed by my home health aid to ask for a rebate form. I called and spoke w/Cathy/Cathie/Kathy. She did an excellent job at making me feel retarded. I apparently did not know what I was talking about and was quizzed about w/whom I spoke. Well after that conversation it was quite clear that this unhelpful nitwit was to not only never confirm/deny or mention in any way a refund which is available but to run people in circles who ask about the $. I was originally going to have the job split up into two jobs but because my health is not the greatest we decided to get the installation done all in one fell swoop on one day. After my horrible experience with Cathy of the Unhelpful Nature I called the Culligan Home Office. I spoke w/a gentleman who asked that I email him directly and he would see what he could do. Never heard from that guy. Never heard from anyone about annual inspections, salt fills or anything. The topics only resurfaced recently when my builder was looking at my setup in the basement and I commented on the interesting experience. The actual equipment itself I would give five stars. The overall human component gets a rock solid ONE star. With so much competition and and alternative products, companies etc. this whole episode was baffling. My advice? Skip Culligan and spend your money elsewhere. That's all.

I tried to go downstairs and tripped over the maze of electrical cords from the fans. We have been a customer for over 30 years and Culligan is offering a cheap, unacceptable BANDAID for a problem they caused. A fair solution would be to rip out and replace the 11 month old carpet.

We have had to call Absolute Water and have technicians sent 3- 4 times within the last year to fix…read moreand troubleshoot issues we were and have been having with our Accel AerAtor Radon Removal system. It was always one part after another. This obviously caused much concern and worry, as we did not know how safe the water was or if we had proper running water. For an only 3.5 year old system, we should not be seeing this many issues in such a short amount of time. This is money out of our pocket on a regular basis. Before the latest fix, we could not even leave a voicemail because the mailbox was full. Calling the customer service line did nothing either. My wife had to call to see if they ever received our voicemail, which they finally found, and were not even aware of the issue. After having technicians respond, it took almost 2 weeks to get any form of response from the owner, and we also received no acknowledgement of our numerous attempts to contact. The only reason we knew messages and emails were being passed on was by calling the office and having someone tell us. When we did receive a phone call, there was an apology and reason given that they were busy, to be frank everyone is busy, but if a business values a customer, it should not be difficult to find and make time. We proceeded with the conversation as we were trying to understand why we have to keep paying for fixes, when in essence the product has not been functioning as it should from the start. I understand technicians have to come and assess and fix, but we should not be faced with this many issues in such a short timeframe. A new AerAtor shouldn't have a warranty of only 1 year for parts, which we already had 1 part fail. Where is the quality in the product and reassurance for performance? This is essentially profiteering. On more than one occasion, the technicians have said to us that they are surprised at how many issues we have been having with the system. They also informed us that the previous supplier and their product was not the best quality and there have been issues with their parts. This product was still being used within our system, so it seems unjust that the parts and product supplied were not the quality they needed to be or should have been, but we are still supplied them. The owner proceeds to inform us that that is not true and do not listen to the technicians, because they do not know about where the product is coming from or its quality. We were told that for all products, it is tested thoroughly to make sure it is 100% efficient before being placed within these systems. That worried us again, so what are the technicians being told about where the product is coming from, it is word against word, and then why are there so many issues with the product. We were blamed because the amount of iron and sediment in our water is so high. As a business, you should never blame a customer. If you have a well, of course there is going to be iron and sediment, shouldn't a system still be able to handle the load? We already have a sediment filter installed that we change every 1-2 months. As follow - up, the owner recommended that after the conversation he provide an estimate for a new sediment filter and valve, and then again to see if we would like that service. This would have been another sizable expense, and the owner stated he could offer a knock off the price on this but not be willingly open to understand all our previous frustration. This is bartering, and profiteering, but not solving the initial problems and taking ownership of the initial problems. No apology, no thank you for your time or acknowledgement of understanding, we were purely presented with excuses, and that there was nothing that could be done or with with us on the current bill. There were no demands for anything, but clearly nothing was resolved on all of the countless visits and then questioning why now are we being told that we need something else installed. If that was the case why was something never mentioned before? We truly wanted to support a local business, however with all the issues we have faced and the lack of professionalism and care provided by the owner, on top of what appears to be sub - par product, we will not be continuing with the service and would not recommend

It was only a matter of time before it stopped working and we knew it so, we wanted to get it done before disaster struck! The first company came last week. (name begins with a C) They told us we needed to replace the pump and all the lines going out from the house to the pump. The price was $4k! We were in shock as we never anticipated it would cost that much! They wanted to do it there and then, but we wanted to get a second opinion, so we called Epping Well & Pump. They came out today and, they were fantastic in every way! Both guys (wish I had got their names), were great! They spent ample time diagnosing the problem and were extremely knowledgeable about what was going on. We were impressed as they explained everything to us in a way we were able to understand. They were polite, friendly, honest. We were told what to expect and what to do and not to do in the following 24 hours. In the end, we got the new pump installed and a new check valve. They did NOT need to install new lines! Total cost: $2350, a WHOPPING $1650 less that the first guy quoted us! What a relief to have the new pump installed and running perfectly! I can't wait to see the difference in our electric bill next month!! My husband, Beagle (they loved her) and I, could not recommend these honest and friendly guys enough! Thank you, Epping Well & Pump, for a very positive experience!
