This morning, September 25, 2024, at around 5:30 in the morning, I had the misfortune of meeting one of the drivers from this company on the 290 highway in Massachusetts. The driver didn't like me emerging onto the highway in front of him and started chasing me to the point that I had to pull off the road and call the police. Unfortunately, I couldn't catch the license plate of the white van because I was too nervous about the situation. But when I called 911 I informed them the color, company name, and the direction they were going. I hope they were able to locate this irresponsible person before they get someone killed with road rage. The van almost hit my car when it tried to pass in front of me and then brake checked me. When I went to the other lane to avoid a confrontation, the driver went with his car behind mine and turned on his high beams and drove for miles extremely close to my car, putting my life and the lives of dozens of people who were just trying to get to work at risk. He haunted me for 20 minutes on the highway. read more

When I first called I was pleased with the information I was given and felt confident in making a decision based on that information. Unfortunately, each time I spoke with someone I was given different information, much of it contradictory. Soon, I had a difficult time getting anyone to return my calls. I found other companies who could do the same thing Second Wind had originally agreed to for thousands less and with far better customer service. Not hearing from them turned out to be a blessing! Sales People, not water experts. Their approach was not holistic at all. I recommend you go elsewhere. They sold us an overly expensive reverse osmosis system as the "only reasonable way to remove high arsenic from drinking water" and installed it in line after some point of entry equipment that we already had in place from the previous owners of our house. They couldn't, or didn't bother to identify what our current equipment was doing, or how it was functioning. It turned out the unidentified "Iron and Manganese oxidizing filter" wasn't working correctly, because it was installed improperly. The new Kinetico Reverse Osmosis system was dead in 3.5 years because it was getting blasted with oxidized iron and manganese. The entire unit was thrown away, nearly $3000 wasted. It could have been prevented if the "Expert" and had identified the problematic equipment ahead of it. I have since continued with water tests, and my own research and education on all sorts of hardware available and have designed a working system for our water issues (iron, manganese, arsenic, and radon) for a fraction of the cost. Pure-Earth Water, an online retailer sold me an arsenic filtration solution for a grand total of $175, with a yearly operating cost of about $90. That's one third the cost of SWW yearly service on the reverse osmosis, and the water is healthier to drink because it turns out RO water stripped of everything your body needs and is worthless for anything but wetting your whistle. Pure-Earth also helped me design the Radon, Iron and Manganese solutions. Do your homework, skip these sales people. read more

Everyone here seems to be extremely knowledgeable and educated on all things water. We had a water softener and RO installed and so far, so good. The only things I could grumble about are (1) the high cost (even though I understand that you have to pay for quality), (2) I never received a clear final invoice breaking down exactly what the cost of each line item was, (3) we were never given information on the financing option, (4) the referral process seems shady. RJ responded very quickly to our inquiry and scheduled a visit within a few days, diagnosed the likely issues with our well water, talked me out of buying an expensive system I didn't need, and saw the system installation through to completion. The install team was excellent - efficient, knowledgeable, and professional - and RJ checked in on us a week after installation to walk us through the user-friendly maintenance process. 5 stars seems outrageous. After weeks of appointments with various water companies, I finally decided on Secondwind. Mistake. Big mistake. Scheduled an appointment to have system installed. Husband took a day off - without pay - and they called at last minute to say they couldn't make it. They never reached out to attempt to make things right. Imagine if something had gone wrong with the system. I wrote a letter and they still never attempted to make things right. I guess they have lots of business. Anyway, found another company. Water testing was much more thorough and informative and they showed up when they said they would. Secondwind has a nice company car, but that's where your money is going. Go elsewhere. read more

Over the years I have upgraded my systems and had regular maintenance done by Secondwind.
