I and my in-laws have been loyal customers of this shop for several years now. Unfortunately, due to my recent experience of their flagrant incompetence I cannot continue to recommend them. I had been having power steering steering issues that took 3 separate trips and over 3 thousand dollars to get right, which seemed fine. What happened next was unbelievable!! (See pic). Such a scary, dangerous and elementary mistake for them to miss a totally worn out/loose lower ball joint! Sadly this is not even why I am writing this. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. My entire family has brought all of their cars here for years, I have recommended all of my friends here. I've never had someone have a bad experience. They are always so honest and unlike most places you take me to get a oil change they don't try to extort a ton of money out of you after you stop in. The oil change is only $20 and they're always incredibly honest and seem to do a once over. Every time one of my friends have had something wrong with their car I tell them to go there and they are always cheaper than the competition. My dad is a retired mechanic and he says that it's the only place he's found that has integrity they are entirely honest every time, they look at a problem and tell you how long you can limp along before you've got to fix it. One time they ordered a faulty part, which happens sometimes even with brand new stuff and isn't their fault, and they did a bunch of testing to try and find out what was wrong with the car not thinking it could be the brand new part they replaced. Once they realized it was the part they replaced it for free again and all of the labor for free because it was their error! The location is easy to get in and out of if you use the light on Broadway going through the Shopko parking lot. The staff is incredibly friendly and relaxing, even if they have had bad news in the past it's never been stressful. If you're looking for a mechanic that's advice like your dad could give this is the place to go. read more

I installed aftermarket suspension on my Subaru and called on a Monday to schedule and appointment for as soon as I could to get an alignment. They set me up for that Friday morning. I showed up at the right time Friday and they had me wait around for around an hour before they said we can't do it because it's aftermarket, advised me to go to commercial tire?!? At one point while waiting a guy came out from the shop and asked if boss wanted him to stop working on what he was doing and "start on the alignment" boss said no but followed him into the shop. There was no charge, but wasted my time on a Friday. Yes the commercial tire on Apple st got car aligned no problem. (Commercial tire only a few dollars more on alignment cost) Maybe this is a great place to go if grandma needs to bring her new corolla for an oil change but not the response I was expecting. read more

These guys are by far the easiest place to work with. I needed a tow & repair. They charge a flat fee no matter of the distance but I'm sure if it's a very long drive, they would charge more. However, their service was really good! This is a locally owned business! I purchased the parts for my truck off of Amazon and they didn't give me any type of headaches or requirements of what they need from their supplier standpoint. I have a vehicle that is by definition a POS... it has tons of problems... I called down and spoke to Chris about their diagnostics and to see if it would be okay to have my car towed there. He walked me through their policies and said it wouldn't be a problem. I had it towed down and within 4 hours had not only an answer, but a plan and a price quote. What is even more amazing was that I was able to leave my car there, take the old part with me and exchange it for the new part. They worked with me, took all of my annoying calls/questions, and did an incredible job. I cannot speak highly enough of them. When was the last time you took your car in for service and actually paid less, a lot less, than you were quoted over the phone? My truck started running rough over the weekend so I took it to an auto parts store where they gave me a "free check engine light" test. They told me that I needed a new Oxygen sensor. They also recommended Boise Clutch. So I called and made the appointment with Boise Clutch. They estimated the cost of the O2 sensor would be between $150 and $200. When I took it in the next day they double checked before doing the work and found that the only problem was a broken hose that connected the O2 sensor. They repaired the hose and it only cost about $63. I was blown away! From now on I'll certainly be heading to Boise Clutch for my auto repair needs. read more

We went in a couple of days ago to have the clutch checked for our Nissan 350z as it had a burning smell coming from the car a while back. We left the car there for the night and the next day they called to let us know that they found nothing wrong with the vehicle. When we went to collect the car, we were expecting to pay for some kind of service charges, labor, etc but they told us "NO CHARGE". We were so surprised and very impressed. Phenomenal service from Clutch and Auto today. The check engine light was on and I found them on Yelp!. Chad was very courteous and set me up with an appointment for today. The diagnosed and fixed within about 3 hours. It was worn and cracked rubber elbows on a vacuum sealed line feeding the map system (I dont know much about cars...). They had the old part on their desk to show and explain. Since it didnt take them much time, they didnt charge me anything! Yep, thats right, check engine light fixed for free. I dropped my truck off and used their after hours lock box to address several issues I was having. I expected a call the next day but never heard from them. I called in and let them know what was wrong with the vehicle. I also emailed a pre-sale inspection that another mechanic had worked up to address some of the problem they found. They said they'd take a look at the truck and then we'd decide on the repairs. I never got a call after they were done with the diagnostic. When I called them back they had clearly not looked at the email I'd sent and didn't find several of the issues that the other mechanic found that I wanted repaired. I asked them to take a look at those issues again and to also go ahead with some of the repairs that were needed. I never got a call after they were done with the repairs and they also never addressed the starting issue that was found by the other mechanic, one of the original reasons I took the truck in to begin with. Each time I called in I confirmed my phone number for them to call me back and never heard a word the whole time unless I called them. It was even more frustrating to be told that they had tried calling me several times. I pick up every phone call and listen to every voicemail and confirmed my phone number 3 different times so this was a blatant lie. The timeframe for this whole repair was OVER A MONTH!! So now after a month I have a truck that is partially fixed and I need to find a new mechanic that actually communicates with their customers and does the remaining necessary repairs. I can never in good conscious recommend this mechanic to anyone I know anymore. Shame because I'd used them before and they were fine. My friend's MOM recommended this shop-she's been using them for years. I decided to give them a shot and got my oil changed in my truck. I had a local dodge dealer change my oil the last few times and they told me about a seal that needed repaired-$150 is what they quoted.
