I had a wonderful experience at Capitol Floats. For a first timer, I really liked how they had everything I needed including a towel, robe, ear plugs, and water to spritz on your face if the salt gets in your eyes or mouth. I listened to calming music and had a blue light on, but ended up turning them off for the sensory deprivation experience. I would highly recommend that and will do that for longer next time. It was a state of calm away from the more restless world and complete relaxation. I thought I would want to leave the door open but ended up closing it. Relaxation room was great to enjoy after the float. If a contact wearer, I recommend bringing glasses or having contact solution available. My eyes aren't super sensitive so I just blinked the salt away when a bit got it but others might feel differently.

Ultimate relaxation! As a first time floater, I didn't really know what to expect, but they made me feel very comfortable. You will have a private room to shower and change, before entering your private tiled room (not a tiny pod like other facilities have that might induce claustrophobia!) The water is warm and has heavy salt content (hence the float!) You directly control the light and sound levels, and can even try deprivation (no sound or light). The sessions are 1 hour, which was a bit longer than I needed. But I really enjoyed the session overall, and was shocked at how relaxed my body and mind were for hours after my float. I'll definitely be back again! They also offer a sauna and cold plunge, massage, and a somadome (meditation pod). And they have a great relaxation area for before and after your sessions.

As a Christmas present last year, my dad purchased a float and a sauna experience for both my husband and I. It took us almost a year to get around to actually booking it and using it but once we did, we were kicking ourselves for waiting so long. As part of our celebratory anniversary weekend, my husband and I came on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy our infrared sauna and float experience. We were able to enjoy the sauna together, as it can fit two people. We started with the sauna, and then made our way over to our individual float tanks. I thoroughly enjoyed how the staff explained the entire process and how clean and modern the facility was. The float experience was definitely something else, but I absolutely loved it. 60 minutes of complete silence to meditate was intense, but definitely something I would do again. They give you the option to listen to a soundtrack as well as choosing a colored light. I actually ended up turning off my light and my music because I wanted total deprivation. It is a bit pricey, but they do offer packages and other incentives. I will definitely be back to give this a try again as I slept phenomenal and felt completely relaxed after the experience.

As a bucket list item, Capitol Floats delivered! Quiet and calm, helpful and thoughtful staff. Very interesting experience. Pros: Clean, everything you need is there. Post/pre float space is great for centering yourself. It feels like someplace you've been before, comfortable, it's hard to explain Cons: None As my first float, this won't be my final one. Didn't see colors or things like that. More so was able to just exist for a moment. Ended up stretching and cracking every bone while floating, doing faux yoga poses in the water. Very much my vibe. Music: cosmic ohm Light: navy blue I did toggle both of those on/off through the float I will say, the drumming music that plays at the end of the float was awesome. I wish I could've had that all the way through. Found myself dancing as I got out. Be careful, the tank and floor after the tank are slippery. Take it slooooowwww and enjoy.

Just wanted to remind everyone how greater Capital Floats is. My experience here is so amazing. Each float keeps my stress level down and I swear by the healing properties of a good Epsom Salt float.. Love love love!

I highly recommend capitol floats. My husband and I did the infared sauna first. You are able to control the temperature. I was surprised I was able to sit in for the entire 30 minutes. There is an aux cord so you have the ability to play your own music during your time in the sauna. There are curtains for extra privacy. Towels and robes are provided as well. We then both did an hour long float . I was a bit nervous that I would be claustrophobic however because it is a tank room rather than a pod, there is a descent amount of space. I felt comfortable closing the door for the entire session. It is hard to describe the peace you get when floating. When the world feels heavy, it's nice to float and feel as if you are light as a feather. I chose the meditation music and blue for my tank room. I experimented and turned the lights completely off for a few minutes. I enjoyed focusing on my breathing. At the end of the float, you shower and feel relaxed. I slept really good that night. The post float room had tea, water, and coloring. I was sad that the kombucha tap wasn't working because kombucha would have been refreshing after both floating and using the sauna. I highly recommend this experience to others!

Ask the Community - Capitol Floats

    Are you plus size friendly?

Yes! Our tanks are 7 feet long by over 4 feet wide, and can accommodate any body type. We also have plus sized robes available for our customers. You are always welcome to stop in for a free tour if you’d like to see for yourself!

Do you offer couple floats, similar to other area float spas?

Thank you for your question! We do not offer a couple floats in the same tank; our tanks accommodate one person at a time. However, we schedule our appointments so that two rooms can be scheduled simultaneously and you can float right next door to…

How many people can use the same float/pod? Like would I be able to come and split one 60 minute session with my girlfriend or is it only one person per pod?

there's absolutely no reason to have another person in there with you and would be a distraction

How many float pods are at this facility? I am hoping to organize a family float therapy day!

They have 4 separate floatation rooms and 1 infrared sauna!

Does the water make you float? I never could float on water so this wouldn't be for me?

It's not that water that makes you float, it's the 1100 pounds of salt they add to each tank that makes you float! Trust that is not like climbing into a pool or bath tub, floating so effortlessly is a one of a kind feeling that can't be replicated…

Is the water changed after every float?

Hi Lesley- The tank water goes through a filtration process after each float, sending the water through a 1 micron filter bag. The water is treated with UV light as its being…

This time was also my first time enjoying the salt lounge. It took a minute for my brain to quiet and full enjoy it but it was much needed after a crazy busy and exhausting week. I have been trying to give my body and mind the TLC they so desperately crave while being on a big project at work that makes my brain crave peace and quiet as soon as I log off so this was perfect! As always the staff were wonderful and attentive and I felt so relaxed and refreshed after. I can't recommend visiting Asha enough. Also, the price for 2 hrs is amazing! Thank you for another wonderful time and looking forward to visiting again! Pro-tips: -Bring two towels (the extra one for sitting in the sauna/steam rooms is ). -An extra bag/trash bag is essential for your wet items. -Make sure to hydrate before and during, but also..have a water bottle waiting in your car when you're done. -Bring lotion!

One thing I personally didn't love was that there wasn't a separate changing area/space for women and men, especially since the changing space itself felt a bit tight. Other than that, the staff was friendly and accommodating throughout the experience. My absolute favorite part was the salt lounge--what a beautiful and calming space to meditate and unwind. The lounge chairs/recliners were incredibly comfortable, whether you wanted to sit or fully lay down. I also got a massage, which was lovely and added to the overall relaxing experience.

No, it isn't perfect, and there won't always be ten hot guys ready to blow you, but it is a very clean, friendly, and well managed business. Things I like: The facility is well kept. Great mix of patrons. Great flow thru the building with some hidden nooks and crannies. I love the elevated glory hole viewing/sucking area. Very open and welcoming vibe. Friendly and attentive staff. Lots of booths with gloryholes. Large and open main play area. Things that could be better: The place seems a little too well lit, would be nice to have a little darker atmosphere. The music doesn't set a very sexy mood and the volume is too low. Better lighting in parking area. And finally... I'm not sure the men in Sacramento understand that this is a place where you can let go and express yourself... it is shockingly quiet with a lot of men just constantly cruising... even when guys are having sex they don't make a sound... this just seems odd to me but I'm very verbal and expressive... maybe it's because Sacramento is overall very conservative...?

I played extensively with 3 guys, all separately. The crowd was as mixed racially as Sactown is and the average age was 50+. For what it is, this place is solid: it's clean and offers a decent play space. Normally, customers are not allowed to bring electronics and devices past a certain point because the whole concept of the bathhouse is to unwind and step away from the busyness of everyday life. It it absolutely necessary to do so at times and this place truly helps to relax and reset. Urban baths Folsom is the first franchise offshoot from the popular Asha Urban Baths in Sacramento (which is also a great place but that's for another review). Guests check in and go into a coed changing area to lock up their belongings and change into something comfortable (swimsuit or another water outfit). Shoes are provided, towels can be rented for a nominal price. Once changed, with all electronics squared away, one may then enter the bathhouse. The main room is wheelchair accessible and contains both a massive warming pool and a smaller pool to the side that's much colder. The idea is to repeat a process that is proven to be very beneficial for the body--soak in the warming pool, sweat in either the steam room (pictured while it is off, but this room gets VERY steamy) or the sauna (smells so good in there!), and then cold plunge in the cold pool. Guests can repeat the process as many times as they would like. There are showers for rinsing off sweat before going back into the pools so if a cold plunge isn't your thing, you can turn the shower water a bit cooler and rinse off that way too. There are also lounge chairs and big bean bag chairs for people to sit in and converse in library-appropriate voices. The bathhouse isn't the only activity. There is also a sound immersion or a salt lounge experience. I've done the salt lounge and it's a very relaxing 45 minute session with two hour access to the bathhouse after. There's also a massage experience one can book--again, the bathhouse is there for once the session is over. I personally love this place. The staff are so friendly and the aesthetic really does make a person feel they have stepped away from the world for a time. I like being disconnected from my phone. The water temp is always perfect for me. The scents and the music and the ambience are just what I need to get away. It's great knowing such a nice, female-owned gem is only just down the road for me to visit whenever I feel life becoming too overbearing.
