He not only was at the appointment early, he diagnosed the issue, drove out of his way to a different city to go and get the part that was needed and then came back on his own time over the weekend, all so that a wonderful family with young kids could have hot water again. The plumbing work was completed properly and the area was left clean. However, I had a serious issue with the professionalism and communication afterward. Prior to the appointment, I explained that I am a therapist and may not be immediately available due to being in sessions. After the work was completed, I received multiple calls and texts while I was still unavailable. Later that afternoon, I was contacted by Dave, who stated he was coming back to the property despite my explaining that I would pay through the online payment link provided in the emailed invoice. When I informed him I would not be home and was leaving for dinner, he stated he would wait. This interaction felt inappropriate and unnecessary. Vic, who I initially coordinated with, was professional and apologetic when I spoke with him afterward. Despite the work itself being acceptable, I would not use this company again due to the communication and conduct involved. read more

My home warranty First American requested a service call to repair the shower mixing valve. Looked at it for less than one minuet as said there are no parts for this valve it's to old and wanted to change out for a new. What they didn't tell me my warranty didn't cover modification of the pipe for the new valve and out of pocket cost was $1200. I was so upset I went to Lowe's showed a photo and for under $20 my valve is like new. Please be careful when requesting plumbing service even when you have a service contract. This was totally unprofessional of both First American and Capital plumbing. Don't let this happen to you. read more

My hot water tank went out 12 days ago. They ordered the part it came in on Monday morning and they still will not give me a they can come and fix my water tank and it's now been 12 days. This is abuse my husband 94 years old and I'm no spring chicken either. We cannot walk up the stairs with hot water. I'm extremely disappointed in that I have been given as a matter of fact, I think it comes Under elder abuse. I would not give them a one star rating. You can never get them on the phone. read more

Awful experience. They never answer their phones or reply to voicemails. Guy, Vic, comes out about 4 days after my claim and after 5 minutes says he doesn't have a standard 3" flapper (there are only 2 sizes in the general plumbing world) or standard tools to fix my faucet and says he'll call back in the next couple of days to let me know when he can come back. I never hear back from him or the company. After about almost 2 weeks I call my home warranty to help and realize that they falsely claimed my faucet was not operatable prior to getting my home warranty, effectively invalidating my claim with my home warranty. Funny thing is, I got a very thorough home inspection done during the escrow and the report clearly showed all faucets were in great working order. This place is awful, avoid at all costs and stay away. They will provide you awful customer service and on top of it all lie to your warranty company so they get away with a quick buck. Would give 0 stars if that was possible. read more

This company did so bad job, I have over 5 job in Stevenson ranch area assigned by home warranty. They can only easy job. for any drain issue, they only check 10 minutes, and tell they cannot find clean entry, and home warranty, But we do have clean entry beside garage. Another house they don't use camera, then they told there is tree root there, they try to charge us 600, and when we hire another company they use camera and not find any tree root in sewer line. read more

This was one of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had with any contractor. The service provided was below satisfactory, but even worse was the customer service I received from the plumber--who I later learned was actually the owner. He was rude, condescending, and spoke to me in a demeaning manner, all while smiling and saying, "Oh, you don't like my tone? Sorry you feel this way." As he was working, I started reading the reviews and immediately understood why people complained about his attitude. In the end, the problems were not fixed. He claimed one of the issues was resolved and told me it "works beautiful--10 out of 10!" which was not true. He fixed one problem by creating another. read more

An excellent plumber. I had a leaky shower head and needed a new cartridge. The owner had a difficult situation with removing the old cartridge from my shower handle but he persevered for a good 45 minutes and got it out piece by piece. It was old and basically glued itself to the pipe. He kept reassuring me he would get the cartridge out and he did. The replacement went smoothly and no more leak! He was such a nice person! I would definitely use this company again! read more

Capitol Plumbing & Rooter was called as part of my First American Home Warranty to service my garbage disposal which was leaking. Greg was the technician that arrived and he was extremely professional, courteous and helpful. He quickly determined that the garbage disposal was defective and replaced it. Last week, VJ came and and assessed a problem that two other plumbing companies came to assess with two different solutions. Capitol came through as a result of our home warranty with First American. VJ provided a clear and straightforward solution and said he'd return on Monday with the right parts to handle the job and quoted us a fair price without breaking the bank. Today, VJ arrived on time, and laid out a work tarp and got to work. He explained what he was doing while he worked, and cleared up our drainage issues exactly as he said he would. He cleaned up after himself, removing all the debris and trash and did so with a smile. It's hard to find good honest people in the trades. But I know now that VJ and Capitol plumbing will always have my business in the future should I ever need a plumber again. read more

HUGE RIP OFF STAY AWAY. A close friend who is a very elderly Sr. Citizen called the for a repair when their 40 gallon water heater started leaking. The policy covered replacing the water heater and an additional $500 for code upgrades if they were needed. The plumber they provided, Capital Plumbing & Rooter Inc., replaced the water heater, on the outside of the house, where cars normally park, and charged my friend an additional $1,450 for expenses beyond the $500. Below are the plumbers own words, (email): You decide Codes- expansion tank $250, gas sediment trap $225, ground wiring and bonding $195, pan $130, Modifications cold water line $460, hot water line $390, gas line $285, Temperature and pressure drain line $165. None of this required a second trip, and I can't imagine why many items like the gas line were even replaced, the same size water heater was working just fine and he had to unscrew it to replace the water heater. I can replace the gas line in 5 minutes. The sediment trap is a $15 piece that screws into the water heater, another 5 minutes. Ground wiring is a 30 inch long piece of wire that gets clamped on to the water line and the gas line. That's 6 screws and another 5 minutes. The pressure drain line is one stick of 1/2 inch PVC pipe with a few fittings. That might take 15 minutes, he had to drill a hole too. The expansion tank is a $50 dollar part. Terrible. I had a instant hot dispenser that was dripping water. I called FAHW who sent someone out from this company. He barely looked at the dispenser and instead grilled me on my when my warranty started (it had legitimately started dripping about two days after my warranty kicked in). This guy had my claim denied saying that is was a preexisting condition. "They can tell," I was told. This company is clearly incentivized to deny claims. On top of that, terrible communication -- never completed paperwork so I basically had to work overtime calling many many times to find out that my claim was denied. Terrible technician, terrible communication and First American Home Warranty is absolutely the most terrible. I just cancelled FAHW, so much better to use the money towards decent repair companies. read more

Thank you, Armen! I needed a sewer camera inspection at my home to confirm there was no root intrusion and make sure the pipes were still in good condition from prior concerns. I had a sink that was dripping water. I called FAHW who sent someone out, only to tell me he didn't have the part to fix my sink. He said, he would order it and it would take two weeks. THAT WAS FOUR WEEKS AGO! They say to call, text or email them if you have any questions, BUT THEY DON'T ANSWER ANY OF THEM. I have tried, and the warranty company has tried. Very poor customer service. They could probably go to Home Depot and get the part but instead, I am going to cancel my warranty, get a new one, and get a different plumber. Arman answered, who was very kind and professional in his customer service. He cared about my situation and asked when a Plummer would come by. Wish I could give zero stars. But everyone knows if you pay Yelp they will help bury your negative reviews. These guys were sent to us by way of our Home Warranty to replace our water heater. Mind you the Home Warranty is paying for the water heater and installation but since these guys want to rip you off some more, they claim that there's additional modifications to code and here the list of everything that they refused to send to me prior to doing the work. I only received this after I complained to the Home Warranty company. You can google any of these items on the list to see that they have marked each one up at least 10 times the actual price. When I confronted them they said "well we have to make money somehow!" I've added before and after photos and you can see how similar the install is. You can also tell by how they respond to negative reviews here. They get cocky and dismiss every claim. So I already know how they will respond to this review. But I would love to see how they justify charging $105 for a $10 water heater pan. Shame on you for taking advantage of people. I will never use you or refer to anyone!! Aram was great! Previous plumbers told us our toilet needed to be replaced. None thought to check the second hole opposite the one that takes deposits down. He is the only guy who checked it and fixed our toilet in minutes. Highly recommend. It would have been easy for him to agree with past plumbers that said it needed to be replaced. But he was honest. Great service. I had been without hot water for weeks. The plumber came out quickly after the last plumbing company failed to finish the job. Arman initially thought I'd need a whole new hot water heater but was able to hook me up by finding the discontinued part. Hot water heater restored immediately!!! If something breaks, they give you the run around and may never fix or replace. I had a 18 month old pump break and they ignored calls emails and texts for weeks then finally responded and said they were going to get a new pump since it was under warranty. I stopped asking after month and a half. Then they give you attitude when you're upset with their lack of customer service. read more

We were assigned this company from our home warranty when our water heater died. They came out, said they couldn't help because the problem was due to faulty installation or "secondary damage" which isn't covered by the warranty. We were left paying the $85 service fee, no repair, and no hot water. They left us in a bad place feeling frustrated. We had our trusted plumber come out, he diagnosed it was leaking internally which caused the failure, and installed a new heater. He then said he would put in the time and effort to contact the manufacturers on our behalf to see if we could get any reimbursement. We had to pay out of pocket, but we got our problem resolved. That is how good businesses are run. But not with Capital Plumbing. read more

Had a pipe leaking in my laundry room and my home warranty company (which sucks) set me up with Capitol. The bad was that they couldn't arrive for 2.5 days. I don't understand how a plumbing company says they offer emergency service, but don't return calls with any urgency. Anyway, to the good: Armen arrived within the slot I was told he would, and he was wearing a mask. Many people don't care, but I think it shows he's aware of the fact that it still does provide a little extra safety these days. I can appreciate that. When he got to the problem, he explained things clearly, and did a good job fixing the problem. Most of the issue wasn't covered by the home warranty (shocker), but I called another plumber for a quote and it was clear Armen wasn't ripping me off. He wrapped up in about an hour, left no mess, and was friendly. Nice to know there are some decent ones out there. Appreciate his help. read more

Had an old plumber to unclog my bathtub but he didn't push it all the way out to the main drain, causing my kitchen sink to clog up. Armen came next day, professionally diagnose the issue by figuring which drain are connected, and fixed it. My home warranty company contracted this company and I was really happy to see that the company had great yelp reviews - usually you end up with a pretty poor quality company. Well, that's where the good story ends. Capital shows up with 2 technicians to determine if there's leak and determines there is a leak. They get a specialized leak detection company to come out and listen for where the leak is - well, there isn't one. LOL - do you guys even know what you're doing? The leak detection company did determine that I had really high water pressure coming into the house and needed a valve regulator adjustment/replacement. Capital calls me back and quotes me for the valve regulator and water heater tank replacement. Fast forward 4 days, I'm reading through my home warranty contract and I noticed that my policy covers valve regulators. You'd think these guys would know that? (They probably do, but they get paid much less from my home warranty than directly billing me - that's what I learned after multiple calls to my home warranty company after Greg ghosts me for 1.5+ weeks). I called Greg and he comes back out, tries to adjust the valve to no avail, and says it needs to be replaced. He's going to take a photo of the part, get approval from my home warranty company, and call me back in 2 days. This is the part where Greg goes completely radio silent with no good explanation. 5 days go by and no call from Greg - so I called and emailed him to see if there's an issue. His voicemail is usually full and he'll never pick up; my emails go unanswered. Day 6, no response. Called again and emailed again. Day 8, I've decided that it's time to contact my home warranty company. They call him and leave a voicemail + email. Day 12 - called my home warranty again and they again leave a voicemail + email with him. NO RESPONSE. The lack of response is INSANE and completely unprofessional. I had to get a water heater replaced in my home and this valve replacement basically held that process up for a full 14 days. And I was living in constant fear that the high water pressure would burst a pipe in my home. Avoid this company at all costs. 1) They seem to be incompetent 2) They ghost you. 3) Their estimate for water heater and valve regulator was like $800 more than what I ultimately settled on. read more

Our water heater broke , and our home warranty company had a called another plumber out first who did nothing but take pics ... and was going to charge thousands of dollars as an EST for a fix. Meanwhile, I requested for an alternate plumber, capitol plumbing was available the next day and thoroughly inspected the broken water heater, and was able to replace it the next day and bring the other elements around it up to code and use the warranty, too! When they arrived they did not enter the UNLOCKED gate to knock on the front door - And then left without ever attempting to contact the tenants inside. Short version:   Reliable, courteous, respectful, knowledgeable, experienced, skilled, up-to-date, diligent, enjoys his work, honest, and wears a mask, gloves and shoe coverings to enter homes during the lockdown. Long version:   Greg is a Dishmaster Master!   Many of us who live in vintage houses---especially with no built-in dishwashers--love both the look, and the fantastic functionality of the made in the USA Dishmaster Imperial Four wall-mounted kitchen faucet for hand-washing dishes.  The downside is that they can develop leaky faucets and sometimes have other problems.  In 20 years I have had to install approximately four replacement Dishmasters with at least one plumber visit in-between each new unit.   Last November my Dishmaster sprung a leak from underneath the unit--something I'd never seen happen to any of the ones I've owned before.   My own plumber was unable to come so based on the great Yelp reviews for Capitol Plumbing (and after calling a couple other plumbers and leaving messages), Greg answered my call and said he could be by the house in the early afternoon.  He came by during the promised time, and quickly determined that the only issue was that a key part connecting the unit to the plumbing needed to be tightened up (he was right and carefully tightened it up, tested it, etc.).  He also checked the pressure regulator into the house and let me know it would need to be replaced soon.   Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, the Dishmaster developed another problem--this time with the spray washer.  Of course this had to happen on Sunday.  I called Capitol Plumbing and Greg answered the phone, and said he could come by the following day at 2:00 p.m.   I asked him about safety precautions he was taking during this time, and he assured me he would wear a face mask, gloves and shoe coverings in the house.  He arrived the next day on time (having texted me with a heads up when he was on his way over), and, indeed, he wore a mask, gloves and shoe coverings.  We did a social distance house call staying the six feet apart and each of us wore masks.  After dismantling and analyzing the Dishmaster unit, Greg determined that the toggle between the spray washer and the regular faucet had broken and either the whole unit would need to be replaced, unless that specific part could be ordered.  He rechecked the pressure regulator into the  house and confirmed it needed to be replaced.  He quoted me a reasonable package deal price to return and replace both the Dishmaster and the pressure regulator.   I ordered a replacement Dishmaster from the manufacturer and booked Greg when it arrived.  Again he gave me a time, gave me a text message heads up when he was on his way, and last Friday he came again with mask, gloves, foot coverings, and with social distancing he installed the water pressure regulator and the new Dishmaster, testing it out and taking pictures and videos of it for his Instagram page !  :)  He was done in an hour and 15 minutes, wrote up an itemized invoice for the agreed-upon price which I was happy to pay.  I highly recommend Greg and Capitol Plumbing! read more

I'm pretty certain if this wasn't a warranty call and I had to pay full price, Capitol would have found a way to it. What a scam! I had the unfortunate pleasure of these jokers after being referred by my home warranty company. They arrived to repair a leaking kitchen faucet. it took them all of 60 seconds to tell my wife the faucet had been installed incorrectly and she needed to turn the lever all the way to the left to shut it off properly. The fact it has been working perfectly for the past 5 years didn't seem to matter. I called their office the following day when the conman who answered to phone insulted my intelligence and didn't want to hear anything I had to say. Its all good, they collected their $75 fee in advance so I hope they spend it wisely. NEVER call CAPITOL PLUMING unless you want to throw your money away. read more
