Cheesesteak with old bay fires mushrooms and onions

Ok here I am again the queen of dive bars well this little gem is in the corner of a strip mall. Honestly you'd never see it. We were starved fresh from the Phillies game where we refused to spend 10$ on a can of beer or 5 on a pretzel. So we came here after dropping off our friends who live down the street. We ordered Coronas which were on special for 3$ and the buffalo chicken quesadilla also on special. The quesadilla was fresh and delicious came with salsa sour cream. Delicious. We also ordered the BYOB burgers with hot sauce and bleu cheese medium. We also ordered a cheesesteak with mushrooms and wiz and onions. Ok we were hungry. Don't judge. It was delicious my happiest acknowledgment was the fact they "thank god" they season they're food. Generous salt pepper ect So overall burgers steak etc all delicious. Stop by if you can

Great place for a burger, wings, or some quick bites to eat. We opted for mozzarella sticks and cauliflower bites while we had a drink at the bar. Friendly bartenders. I'd definitely rather do lunch or an early dinner here. They have an outside deck with seating and a bar, clean bathrooms, and a indoor seating area other than the bar. They have a pool table, darts, and change machine as well.

Great food and the prices are right. You have to bring your own alcahol but that's not to bad as there is a liquor store nearby

Even made my own a few times, thinking I had it all figured out. But then I walked into The Bank Bar and had my mind completely rearranged. The place itself? Perfect. It's got that old-school, no-nonsense vibe with just enough charm to let you know they actually care. You walk in, and it's like the place has been waiting for you--dark wood, a little history on the walls, and that unmistakable smell of something incredible happening in the kitchen. The kind of place where you know, deep down in your soul, that good things are about to happen. And then came the sandwich. This roast pork wasn't just good. It wasn't just great. It was the best roast pork sandwich I have ever had in my life. No exaggeration. First bite--boom--instant revelation. The pork was juicy, packed with deep, rich flavor, and shredded just right, like it had been slow-cooked by someone who truly understands patience. The roll? Oh man, that perfect balance of crusty and soft, holding everything together without stealing the show. Then you get hit with the garlicky, herb-loaded bite of the greens--sautéed just enough to still have a little bite, but soft enough to melt into everything else. And the cheese? Sharp provolone, the kind that makes your taste buds wake up and pay attention. I sat there, sandwich in hand, just nodding to myself like some kind of roast pork prophet. Every bite was a reminder that this is how it's supposed to be done. It wasn't a meal. It was a life experience. If you haven't been to The Bank Bar yet, fix that immediately. Order the roast pork. Thank me later.

HUH??? What did you say??…read more The volume of the music system at Mt Royal almost shoves you back out the door ... you can feel the sound and I don't even begin to imagine the damage being done inside the ears of the bar keeps at this inn that has been standing on this corner for more than 100 years (Foundation must be good to withstand the thundering sounds ... did I mention it is LOUD IN HERE!!)! Even my glasses were shaking. Friendly staff but frankly I could not hear what my multiple draft choices were so I meekly said "I will have that first IPA." She replied "you nt the ore dub?' Or something like that ... I smiled and said yes. I hate QR menus but oh well. Specials and signatures are there along with the menu ... I find myself moving with the music but not sure it's by my choice or by the reverberation of sound. By the way, I am seated in a side room off the main bar area where the sound is blitzing the atmosphere! They also have some outdoor seating... highly recommended! 'I am rockin' in the USA' oops, sorry just started singing LOUDLY!! it's my birthday so what the heck even if I never hear again I am going to sing loud and out of key ... no one can hear me or even their own inner thoughts. Going "Buffalo" tonight because I have heard how good their 'wings' are plus they have Buffalo's traditional fish fry of beer battered haddock. And, it's my birthday!! Nice to be acknowledged by some BILLS' Fans or at least I think they said something good about my team because I am wearing Bills' colors. I think someone just collapsed from the sound ... a scream ... the music is 80's and 90's with a beat that literally moves you. I should have gone outside .. I reality should have. Menu has a nice selection of sandwiches... Suddenly the music's volume has returned to an acceptable level of loudness and the food arrived. Grabbed a fry and it was a really good fry! The fish offered the look of a wee bit long in the fryer but if a timer was buzzing earlier in the kitchen the cook could not have heard it. The wings dripped sauce... blue cheese hidden but it was there. However, NO CELERY ... NO CARROTS & no cole slaw with the fish ... I was in fry city. If you serve WINGS you serve CELERY! The wings frankly are not the best in South Jersey not even the best in the county. They however were "not bad" although in keeping pace with the fish they were not juicy and obviously over-fried. The good news they were not battered, which seems to be South Jersey kitchen's favorite way to prep the wings made famous in Buffalo, NY. Whatever beer I picked was pretty good (Bonesaw). I watched others struggling with the QR coded menu and absently tapped my fingers to music whose lyrics were hard to comprehend because my ears were blown out earlier. Bartender is also waiting tables so I patiently waited ... checked for cotton in my ears. Signed off ...20 percent tip, she is working hard. I came for my birthday to get really good, "best wings" according to some, and I am leaving with my inner ears muffled in their ability to process sound not impressed with their bar food nor atmosphere. They say this place has lots of history but frankly it is H-I-S-T-O-R-Y to me. I strongly urge management to limit the volume of the music, which was at an acceptable level as I left (Unless, I lost that much of my hearing earlier and it's still loud.). If you are attempting to provide meals to folks those drinking at the bar need to accept loud music rather than what welcomed me.

There's a lively atmosphere in there, which may be a little too loud for some people, but it's never been bad while we're there. Granted, we've been fortunate to miss the evening rush the two times we've gone, so service has always been good; with friendly servers and the food coming out fairly quickly. No idea if this is the norm, but the service staff are always nearby and seem to be very attentive even when it's busy. As for the food, it's solid pub fare. Lots of sandwiches and comfort dishes. The salads are good, and the sandwiches (chicken parm and shrimp po' boy sliders) I've tried have been good enough that I wouldn't hesitate to get them again. The serving sizes were larger than we expected, so definitely come hungry or order something that'll be good as leftovers. If there's one picky thing to consider, it's that they under salt their fries. I usually don't like too much salt, but they're noticeably lacking. The fries are good, though. First time here and last time. Ordered a Cuban sandwich and…read morereceived their version of it I suppose . Slices of pork , a slice of ham , chopped pickles and a healthy overdose of a white sauce and it was served on an upside down sub roll . Yes , slice a roll and make the sandwich on the darker round part and leave the cut inside part on the top and bottom . Any Cuban I've ever had was always pressed or grilled but this was not , it was just sloppy upside down bread . I've never had a Cuban sandwich like this before ! It was a sloppy mayo dripping mess that I couldn't eat because I can't eat mayonnaise, something that should have been on the menu description. When a server popped by I asked what it was and she said it was a mayo- horseradish sauce and walked away . I ate the tater tots and left the sandwich, it was pretty bad . Well my boyfriend was finished his meal and both of our beers were empty and yet no one bothered to ask if we wanted another round . We sat there and waited, looking around at the 3 employees who were just standing there talking ... no one seemed to care. Our server who disappeared after taking our order walked right past us to chat with a couple of younger guys right behind us , they were regulars and she obviously knew them . They were chatting and laughing away and here we sat with empty glasses , an upside down sub roll slathered with mayo sauce and no server . Finally another server came by to ask if we wanted anything else and I said no just the check . She saw the sandwich untouched and I said I didn't know it had mayonnaise , something I can't have . She brought the check back and said she removed the Cuban . Um ....no , we were charged $2.50 for the tater tots which I did eat and $2.00 for the Cuban . What did she remove ? Meanwhile when our server saw we were leaving she finally decided to tear herself away from her conversation with the guys to ask if we were okay ....no but thanks for asking . A drink refill , a stop by to see if we needed anything or how was the food but no , we ceased to exist after she took our order . Overall pretty disappointing experience here and we won't be returning. And we're always very generous tippers but not tonight . Tonight we tipped based on the overall experience.... Food - not good at all Service - pretty much nonexistent Atmosphere- if you're a regular you get treated like you matter , you actually get a server that's not invisible !!! Would definitely not recommend this place

After my experience tonight, I will most certainly be back! The first thing that struck me about the place was that it was decidedly dated, and I mean that in a nostalgic way. The Charlie Brown's building clearly has a history, and one could easily imagine what this place was like as a one family home. Pretty cool! Tin backsplashes come to mind as a dominant feature of the indoor decor. They dotted the huge, multi-roomed interior, giving the place a classic, yet elegant feel, like being in grandma's kitchen. The space was great, and I especially loved the dining room in the the library, adorned with grand bookcases full of the classics! The menu was what I would expect a reasonably priced steakhouse would be. There were plenty of choices in steaks, and other dishes, and their prices were good. I ordered the sirloin, with mashed potatoes and the salad bar....and I thoroughly enjoyed it all! The service at Charlie Brown's was great, as well, and everyone we came into contact with served us with a smile. I have no photos...but I'll be back! Restaurant was not empty in the least but plenty of tables were still available. It was busy. A super waitress (Mariah) was superb. One of the children is a super picky eater so we knew going in that finding something for him at this restaurant would be a challenge. Thank goodness the one thing he eats is french fries!! So he doesn't count in this review because he only had a plate of french fries for his meal. Having said that, the plate of fries was GYNORMOUS ($5) !! The waitress brought 2 baskets of warm bread and a plate of warm peppers in oil & spices for the table. Awesome for both items. The adult graduate and her two friends had a cocktail ... each had a Casamigos Tequila Blood Orange Margarita that they said was awesome ($14 each). The kids diet coke and lemonade ($3 each) and my plain ole club soda ($3). The 2 friends each had the chicken parmigiana ($26 each) which came with 2 large pounded flat breasts on top of a bed of pasta. They each took half home with them. My daughter has the Penne Vodka ($24) along with a side of Italian Long Hot peppers ($8) and I had the unfortunate task of being on ATKINS diet so I bypassed all these good things on the menu and went straight for the chicken Caesar salad ($19). The salad was huge and at least a 7 -8 ounce grilled chicken served sliced on top. The total bill BEFORE the gratuity came to $179.95 + $11.93 tax for a total of $191.88 (before tip). The ambiance of Filomena Lakeview was really, really nice. We ate on their covered patio at high top table and it was really nice sitting there on a beautiful day. Anything to criticize? Not really. I didn't think the prices were out of line with any other restaurant for what they charge and the portion sizes were all very large. Nothing was skimpy at all. Mariah's service was great and ambiance was super. So, nope! All good and worthy of 5 stars!!
