Great food and the prices are right. You have to bring your own alcahol but that's not to bad as there is a liquor store nearby

Well, they say that "size doesn't matter" and it's clear that the menu at the Cap'ns Corner has experienced shrinkage. While still offering a full bar with high tops to sit at, TV's along the walls and a solid beat of very listenable music ... we had chosen the Corner to eat at and the one pager didn't offer what their website and prior menu photographers had implied. We walked in on a Sunday evening ... the darkness had enveloped the daylight but we were hungering for some of the menu items but upon opening the doors we discovered an emptiness applicably haunting on a dark dark night. But, then the barkeep welcomed us with this awesome smile and greeting! She pointed out that patience would be a virtue since she was working the bar and the dining tables, which we noticed did have some semblance of life present around them. We ordered our bar beverages and pursued the menu plus the "specials," which were limited. When the adult beverages were transported back we had questions about the chili and the crab chowder. We said we were testing her honesty as to how good they were. She described the chili but said she was allergic to shell fish so she couldn't say how the chowder was but she asked .... 'Would you like a sample of both so you can decide?" A SAMPLE we thought ... well yes, that is an exceedingly pro-customer option BRING ON THE SAMPLES ... So she strolls back with soup spoons and samples. And, we were thrilled .... The chili was not "spicy hot" but it was oh so flavorful and the Maryland Crab Chowder was thickened with stuff because after all it was a chowder with a little edgy kick but oh so so good! Decisions made ... Definitely the chili and a chicken quesadilla but the Chowder was turned down because it would be "too much" along with the desired fish taco's. And, what perfect decisions ... delicious food and the chili even got better topped with cheese and jalapeño! The price was right too. As we sipped the last few drips of the adult beverages while eyeing some of their happy hour specials we wondered why the menu was shrunk because we were very very happy ... And, after walking up to the bar to get the bill (We told her she was working her butt off handling the bar and tables that the least we could do was walk to her when we needed something.) and paying ... it was back into the dark of the night ... so dark and so satisfied with food and perhaps that second adult beverage my passenger went to the side door of a car that wasn't mine ... It was the right choice ... not the car but the Corner ... a good ending with plans for a return for one of those discounted happy night meals. read more

If you went to Deptford High School or Gateway High School, then this place is like a high school reunion.......except you're meeting all the kids who never moved out of their parents' house and still think they're going to hit it big as a rapper at 39 years old. If you're well established in a good career, have a 401K, good health insurance, and bringing a date back to your house doesn't involve telling them "You'll have to be quiet, my parents are sleeping," then this is not the place for you. read more

By far the worst bar in south Jersey. The one bartender/server cannot get an order right, same order, a full year apart. A beer was served with 90% head, no offer of a repour. No apology when the order was incorrect... again. I know it's a shit location but come on. read more

A pleasant little bar in the corner of the Evergreen Shopping Center... Blink, and you'll never know this place was there.. The sister bar to Cap'n Cats, this place caters to a totally different crowd.. There's always someone here performing. The layout is pretty spacious and there's enough room to have a good time, yet hear each other over the music and others talking. A pretty good, but not overbearing menu and beer list. Burger, fries, wings, and other items to go along with the usual seafood. The crowd there seems to be laid back, while enjoying their time spent there. I can't say what they scene is like at night because I have only been early evening.... Go for happy hour and enjoy a small meal and friends.. Ok here I am again the queen of dive bars well this little gem is in the corner of a strip mall. Honestly you'd never see it. We were starved fresh from the Phillies game where we refused to spend 10$ on a can of beer or 5 on a pretzel. So we came here after dropping off our friends who live down the street. We ordered Coronas which were on special for 3$ and the buffalo chicken quesadilla also on special. The quesadilla was fresh and delicious came with salsa sour cream. Delicious. We also ordered the BYOB burgers with hot sauce and bleu cheese medium. We also ordered a cheesesteak with mushrooms and wiz and onions. Ok we were hungry. Don't judge. It was delicious my happiest acknowledgment was the fact they "thank god" they season they're food. Generous salt pepper ect So overall burgers steak etc all delicious. Stop by if you can read more

My husband and I were looking for a new spot to watch a football game and get some grub. We checked this "sport's bar" out strictly based on Yelp reviews. I could not be more disappointed in all of you! Seriously terrible food and service. We went during the AFC Championship game and found the restaurant empty; only the bar was crowded. Obviously, it was quite loud-which was fine. Televisions weren't greatly placed for diners in booths, but we made do. Server was not even remotely friendly or helpful. She had no personality at all. I had read that the Fish and Chips was fantastic and so I was very happy to see it on the Specials Menu. It was TERRIBLE. 2 pieces of frozen fish and fries. Tartar sauce was clearly from a jar. The best thing on the plate was the spoonful of macaroni salad which likely is not house made either. A total rip off at $8.25 We also ordered the Captain's Combo so we could try a variety of appetizers. This consisted of all frozen bar food: 2 tiny mexi-egg roll type things 2 chicken fingers 4 or 5 medium wings 3 cheese sticks 4 jalapeno poppers All this frozen food was $14. Just adds salt to the wound. Did I mention $2.50 for a plastic cup of what is listed as Coke, but is clearly the alternative cheaper soda; RC?? We did not partake in alcohol on this venture. The old watering hole. Great drinks. Great food. Great service. Reasonably priced. Will come here as long as it's open.

It's a confused bar. The free signs from beer companies are all over the place, including a ugly inflatable Corona beer plane on the ceiling that screams cheap. It's got a pool table that could be better used for seats for the live music because you can't play when live music is going on (or really any other time). It's sign and name says seafood but the decor has nothing to do with the name (and the seafood on the menu is terrible). The BBQ and Burgers are great and should be the food focus. It has a golf game that flashes 90's CGI bikini girls for some unknown reason. The drinks are lost and they aren't doing themselves service. They have "Summer Drinks Menu" on the tables in January. The only other thing on the tables to help you figure out the drinks on offer is a shots menu with 20 different shots. If you want a beer good luck figuring out what's on tap. They have one of the best selections of beers in the area but you would never known unless you walked to the back of the restaurant to read a chalkboard. To be fair, they have a partial beer menu but you can't read it because it blinks different colors every 3 seconds including off. Beyond the beer selections, the best things about the Cap'ns Corner is the staff. They are very nice and know what's good at the bar and on the menu. Very helpful. read more

I love this place. Very relaxed atmosphere. People laughing and talking across the bar and tables. Bartenders are awesome!!! Always get a good drink. They have a good mix of beers on tap. The food is good too. Bar food with some seafood additions. My favorite is the bang bang shrimp tacos. This place also has great wings and the best onion rings around!!!! Great place for a burger, wings, or some quick bites to eat. We opted for mozzarella sticks and cauliflower bites while we had a drink at the bar. Friendly bartenders. I'd definitely rather do lunch or an early dinner here. They have an outside deck with seating and a bar, clean bathrooms, and a indoor seating area other than the bar. They have a pool table, darts, and change machine as well. read more

All I can say is, if you wanna see everyone from high school come here. The drinks are ok if you go on a certain day or something, but generally like $5 for a drink. They run beer pong on Thursdays and guys come out for they travel and lean hard to win the $150 prize. read more

We used to come here all the time recently we visited again and it was horrible there were times the bar was completely void of any staff for more then 15 mins the food was cold. at one point kitchen staff came out put food on the counter and it sat there for more then 10 mins before the staff even came back out and gave out the food to the customers. we waited at the bar for almost 20 mins before someone even came up to us even with empty cuos sitting in front of us and an uneaten cheese steak which came out ice cold the cheese not even melted and half empty as if they had already eaten half of the filling. the drinks were ok I got a margarita but they added water and orange juice which was very odd. I don't recommend this place at all. There are far better bars less then 5 mins from this place that are much more worth the money and time!!! read more

Unbelievable food, especially their seafood items - I would challenge you to find better fish n' chips. Of course, they have great wings as well. Really love the chicken quesadillas too. And the buffalo tenders. Now that I think of it, I dont think theres anything I dont like here, except maybe the sketchy location. I enjoy the atmosphere this place has to offer. the stuffed jalapenos aren't spicy though and rather bland aside from the gooey cheese and ranch dip. The BLT is excellent and the beer is pretty good. they have a small selection of craft beer on tap and tons of craft beers in a bottle but let's be real. who goes to a bar to drink bottled beer? Not I! I want straight up Draft beer! The selection is decent enough to keep me coming back for more but it would be good if they upped their selection.. The bar staff is friendly and accommodating. the live music is a plus. The noise level is not too loud either. But I have yet to go here on a Friday or Saturday night. All in all would recommend for a casual good time or just some happy hour drinks and snacks. Only downside is they do NOT accept Discover for some reason. They likely do not accept AMEX either. So word to the wise. Pack your Visa or MCards. Dinging them a star for this. read more

This place has been the go-to bar in my circle for years now, and it's easy to see why. For one, the food is awesome for a place that seems so unassuming from the outside, being that it's tucked into the corner of a quiet strip mall. The portions for everything I've ordered from here have always been giant, and the price is always cheap considering how much you're getting. Their burgers are absolute monsters and delicious, they usually have a few tasty specials on the menu daily, and the wings are some of my favorites out of any place I've been to. Add to that the fact that appetizers are normally half price during happy hour, and you can easily have a good bar snack and a few beers for well under $20. The service has always been friendly, and after a visit or two the staff remembers you and treats you like a regular. Stopped in because I was passing by at lunchtime. Ordered the wings and was very surprised they were excellent! The sauce was great not your average Out of the bottle Crystal or what have you. Jalapeño poppers had cheddar in them they were great. The capn's fries had just the perfect amount of old bay. Bottles of Coors Light were Nice and cold. The service was great. Had a beer in front of me before I took off my jacket. Food came out very quickly. I'll give it a four for now. I'll check back in a few weeks to see if it was a fluke. I'll grab something different from the menu and see if the service and kitchen is still great. Forgot to use the restroom that's always a sign of a good place if they can't keep the bathroom clean I won't go back. read more

Drink specials for Wednesday were posted on the website and on a sign at the bar --$3.00 wine $4.00 appletinis . . . .When 2 people at our table asked for the wine special, we were told it wasn't available. No attempt was made to make good on the advertisement, and no explanation was given. The food was okay, but the portions were small. As another reviewer here put it, there aren't a lot of good pubs with good food in Gloucester County. First, I'll say this about the food at Cap'ns Corner: a lot depends on who is cooking. My preference is Steve, who largely cooks during the lunch-afternoon time slot. I've heard a lot of good things about his cooking from other people. I can only speak on his Turkey Club sandwich, which is all I ever order. This is one of the best turkey clubs you will ever eat. He knows how to make a tasty sandwich. Real sliced turkey is key, as opposed to processed lunchmeat turkey. The sandwich comes with fries or waffle-style sweet potato fries (my fave) and a small side of mac salad. The only other turkey club that comes close is Angelo's Diner in Glassboro, because they use real turkey too. Of the two, though, Steve's is better. Also, they have a nice selection of BOTTLED craft beers. They could use some more craft beers on tap. Bottom line: go to Cap'ns Corner and get the turkey club when Steve is cooking. Early in the night this place is usually pretty good. The food and staff are descent. Good selection of beer. From time to time I've had some really great nights here, but recently things have changed. Ever walk into a place and feel like something is going to happen that night? My friend and I each ordered a double jack, enjoyed our drinks with good service. Three different bartenders tried to refill our drinks. No complaints there. Then the bill came. $25 for two jack doubles. Considering the bartender offered us doubles and never explained that we would in fact be charged for four single shots and not two doubles (I've bartended for years and every place I've worked at has charged one price for a single shot, and maybe 1.5 times that at the most for a double, at the most) I was very surprised when the bill came. Very sneaky. Left my 20% but will not return. $25 for two drinks is just not acceptable in South Jersey. I pay less in Philadelphia for stronger drinks that are actually well mixed. read more

Look, I honestly wish that there was a nicer bar in the Woodbury area. I would love a gastropub or upscale wine bar. But there isn't, and the Corner is the best you are going to get. Still, they have a cozy operation with a rather nice menu. They have a very nice fish fry, which is surprisingly hard to find around here, and a wide menu and an excellent selection of beers. Having eaten at Cap'ns Corner in the past, and being satisfied with the food and service, we decided to go for a Tuesday nite dinner with friends. The restaurant area was virtually empty, while the bar had a few customers. We sat at a table and waited for acknowledgment...even just a wave would have worked. I saw waitresses look over toward us but did nothing. After about 10 minutes...we left. No one even tried to see what the problem was...guess they don't care. Other neighbors had gone there a while ago and were very disappointed with the food and service. But, we thought we'd try it ourselves, thinking maybe they had a bad day...but, I guess things haven't changed. We went to GiaNina's, down the block, and had a great meal and wonderful service!! read more

It's Cap'ns Corner not Captins. Used to live down the street and this place is the only reason why I miss living in Deptford. Great wings. Try the thai chili wings. Bucket of wing specials and many other daily specials. Keep your eye out for the bartender who makes the chocolate covered pretzel shots!!! YUM!!! Great prices and quality food for a bar. Live bands on the weekends make this place a fun hangout. Oh, my I forgot to mention the fish bowls!!! Yes, they have those plastic fish bowls like the ones they used to serve at Mako's in Philly (without the plastic shark) filled with 3 olives vodka, soda and punch and boy do they knock you on your ass! Make sure you are not driving and grab some friends and share one of these. I heard there are 18 shots in one of these babies! Love the orange!
