Great bar - cozy, friendly, good drinks. We didn't have anything to eat - we were supporting THE CORE - at open mic night. Intimate setting for bands to play at, and a good crowd to play TO. THE CORE was tremendous- hard to believe this was their first group appearance! Tina killed it! I enjoyed the other bands who played as well. I love this kind of bar where nobody has attitudes and everyone is there simply for a good time and to enjoy some live music! We'll be back - maybe go earlier to try some New England clam chowder, or some pick food! I bet it's banging here in the summer w the nice deck & river view !!! Who knew?! read more

We had lunch here this past Sunday, we sat outside on the deck. Because of Covid, there is a limited menu. I got the grilled chicken sandwich with fries & a margarita. My drink was very good and the sandwich was definitely an upgrade since the last time I was there, it was huge. NO DOCK AT THIS DOCKSIDE RESTAURANT. I never been here before and thought it would be fun to take a kayak trip with some friends for drinks. We were going to start from Riverwinds and head down the creek to this place but thank God I didn't because THERE'S NO DOCK at this "dockside" restaurant! I planned our route on my GPS (still shows the doc in the pic I posted) but decided to do a quick recon before we headed there. When I walked up to the creek there's no dock and the entrance is blocked off. What a huge disappointment! I feel like this probably was the highlight of this spot and probably lost a lot of business now that they don't have it. It looks like there's a couple docks along the way but my guess is they're private. I gave it one star because there's no updates on their site about it and I would've been pissed if we went that far not being able to dock anywhere. Friends have also said the foods not that great but we were mainly going for drinks and can't comment on the service until I actually go there but maybe I'll change my review if that's any good. read more

Yikes! Yes, that need to be said before DIVE ALERT! Located on some narrow body of water (it didn't seem to be the river but maybe an offshoot?) they offer a spot to dock your boat. Parking is tough as is the entrance to the lot located just before you go up a bridge. Typical bar food is offered although we did not eat. The crowd on this visit was mixed but were ready to get the weekend started and the buzz of rowdiness was in the air. The cute outdoor deck area was lined with smokers, so I tried to stand as far upwind as possible. The inside bar area was packed and I didn't want to stand near the pool table or along the currently empty dance floor. While service was fine and everyone friendly, the husband said he would have felt more comfortable in construction boots, a cut up sleeveless shirt, and smoking than his flip flops and t-shirt. I felt more comfortable as we walked to the car, only because we were clearly not from around this area/south Jersey and it showed. read more

I REALLY wanted to like this place but after last night I'm done. For the 2nd time in a row my friends and I were charged for drinks we didn't order. The first time this happened a friend and I stopped in around 2:30 in the afternoon and left around 5. Somehow, in that time we were charged for TWELVE PBRS. My friend and I are both small women. We can drink, but we can't drink like THAT. When I pointed out that there must have been a mistake on the bill the lunatic bartender started pulling out PBR cans out of the trash which proved nothing because we weren't the only people drinking PBR in the bar... it was really bizarre behavior. So I love this place on the river. It is a dive by every stretch of the imagination but there is where the charm comes from. The bar food is good and the drinks are inexpensive but that is the point of a dive bar. Oh and they have live music! read more

Great dive bar. Solid food. On the river and back near a neighborhood but definitely worth stopping in for if in the area.

The pro's definitely outweigh the con's in this place. Nonetheless, this place does have a few things to work on. The pro's: Exceptionally friendly staff, great food, good bands, and an awesome group of locals who frequent the place. Additionally, during the summer, it's even better with the boats pulling up. The con's: This is not a great place to watch the game during football season. I actually left once when the bartender refused to cut the audio over to the game, all because "people had money in the jukebox." Why am I gonna spend good money on beer, shots, and wings to watch a silent game? I promptly dropped a $5 spot on the bar for my beer and walked out. Super Bowl Sunday, I was the only person in there. Last night (10/22), the Cowboys/Niners and the Steelers/Bengals games were on. I couldn't hear a lick of either because they had a band of 18 year olds (who, I will extend credit due, as extremely talented) set up with their amplifiers to maximum volume; so loud that you had to lip read to communicate with anybody. I get it that football isn't everyone's bag, but when you're a business like that, you really don't want to alienate what is traditionally a crowd that spends money. read more

I have been going to this particular location since I was 5 years old and it was under different owners and named the "white bridge" however give coconut grove some credit, they just reopened for the first time since Covid-19 made them close their doors for almost 4 months. The food quality was something I could cook up in a microwave. My friend ordered the beef nachos, and I had ordered a chicken quesadilla and an order of "Cajun fries". The only thing that made them Cajun was the so called spice pour on top of them. Not only did that simple order take over 30 minutes to reach our table, when it finally arrived, the nacho beef was semi cold. The nacho chips were sighing and faking apart. We had ordered a pitcher of soda for the both of us, it was as flat as a pond. My quesadilla barely had any meat or cheese in it, and the tortilla looked like it had been stuck in the fryer for 20 minutes or more. Last but not least the special Cajun fries we ordered didn't even come with the Cajun seasoning. Hopefully they get their act together, I will not be back until I've heard they hired a new chef that takes pride in his work. read more

I love sitting outside on the back deck looking out onto the creek. That's probably my favorite part about this bar. If I'm going to hang out here it has to be outside. Food is okay but nothing special. Drinks are always great! Bathrooms are very small. Not the place to come if you're into fancy decor and food. This place is now called Coconut Grove Clam Bar. We stopped after golf at Riverwinds (about 1 mile). Food was really good and reasonably priced. Try the Louisiana alligator. Outside deck on Woodbury Creek. Not sure about live music as we were there in the afternoon. Good stop. read more

My first time here last night for an open mic night. From what I hear this is now under new ownership. I'd never been here under the previous owners but the place has a fresh, new look to it. They also have deck seating but I can't speak to that as it was night when I was there and didn't check out the deck. Old school bar with loyal patrons. The people were friendly and there was a dock bar atmosphere. There were three major problems: on the deck the language used by the clientele was very vulgar, both men and women. I appreciate an occasional F bomb for emphasis but here it was ridiculous. I have not been to a bar in 20 years with so much smoking, even though we were outside the smoke was overwhelming. I ordered the lobster roll, it was tasty ( I liked the lime) but it was made with imitation crab and shrimp. Just call it what it is, a seafood roll. read more

Stopped by there yesterday since the only place we have near us to go to is Taste Of Keywest which is horrible! Anyway, this place was decent last summer, I don't know what happened! Service and food both bad.... When we finally ordered it took over an hour for the food and it was cold. Server also forgot something which I ended up sending back anyway! My husband said his sandwich was hot and good which I find it hard to believe since everything else was ice cold... Must of been the last thing put up.... Fun bar we go usually at Happy hour. Food is good very relaxing atmosphere. Staff is super cool and sweet. We love Dana she is always cheerful on point with her service not only to us but everyone on her shifts. She is definitely the reason me and my husband n friends always go there. OK...maybe it was the perfect Spring weather, and after racking up 13 miles on the bikes, we were ready for a sunny combination of good beer, good food, and great atmosphere. Maybe it was the confluence of perfect timing and weather, but we got all that today at Coconut Grove. I think we were the first customers of the day, but our server/bartender Angie couldn't have been friendlier or more attentive. Taking advantage of the aforementioned perfect Spring weather, we chose to sit out on the deck overlooking the creek, sipping our beers and enjoying the scenery. While not exactly a tiki bar in Key West (and my favorite of those is Hurricane Hole), Coconut Grove provides a nice mid-Atlantic approximation (reeds and geese instead of palm-trees and pelicans). The sun was out, the beer was cold, and the sandwiches were very tasty. In all, I can't think of a nicer way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon. The menu had a lot of interesting options; we'll definitely be back. read more
