First timer. Ordered one of their thin crust pizzas with sausage, pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms and onions. Added a Cannoli for dessert. The pizza was above average. High quality ingredients and lots of them. Felt as if the pizza had extra cheese. All the produce tasted fresh and crisp (not soggy or old). The crust was a little bit chewy for my taste - a bit spongy and somewhat bland. If it had been just a little bit better, the pizza would have definitely ranked 5 stars. This is a weird place. Called to place an order, eggplant parm and ribs. They call back 15 mins later, no ribs. Ok, the chicken parm instead. Went to pickup the food and the lobby is filled with gaming machines, like really filling the vestibule. Waited for food, amongst others cramming into a very small space. Food is finally ready, 40+ minutes later. The food flavor is good, but it's obviously not fresh prepared. Both dishes were brown/black on the foil container and cold in the middle. They are putting the foil containers in the oven to heat it up, ala frozen dinner. If I wanted reheated food, I will go to the grocery store and save some $$$. Can't say I'll be back unless some significant changes are made. We have some really good Italian restaurants in the area that are much better than this offering. read more

Absolutely loved this dish! The shrimp were large, juicy, and perfectly cooked -- not rubbery at all. The pasta had a great texture and was lightly coated in a garlic-tomato sauce that didn't overpower the seafood. Everything was seasoned just right, and the fresh parsley on top added a nice touch. I was sitting outside on a sunny afternoon, and the ambiance of this little street café made the whole experience feel so relaxed and European. Service was polite and efficient, and they brought out the food pretty quickly. I had a bottle of sparkling water with it and that paired really well. Ordered Capones for the first time in a while this evening, probably about 2 years. Prices definitely went up since the last time we ordered, which is par for the course with everything in the restaurant industry, so no stars deducted based on cost. Service - The order taking process was a little frustrating with getting put on hold several times, but if you're busy that should be a good thing. I did appreciate that they didn't make me prepay for an order that was going to be picked up in store. The food was ready and piping hot at the estimated time of pickup. Food - The pizza dough was a little chewy, a bit doughy, however the cheese distribution, topping allocation, and overall consistency was pretty solid. We also got some appetizers which seemed to be scratch made, which is always preferred. Overall, I will still give them another shot, but they could make some improvements which would take them from a place I would order from occasionally to a place I would order from on a regular basis. If the other things mentioned were corrected I could definitely consider myself adding an extra star. read more

Last night we met with good friends for fun and great food at this little hidden gem in Bloomingdale. The owner Dawn knows her kitchen, recipes and how to take care of her customers. It is family owned and run. Her daughter Daniella and granddaughter helped our server Marina bring us a feast!! We also ate in her new dining area that was so nice. Here's what we had and we LOVED it all! Bruschetta, stuffed artichoke,fried ravioli, lg sausage pizza, antipasta salad, eggplant Parmesan, fried shrimp, 8 finger cavatelle in Vodka sauce ( omg devine),sausage and meatballs , cookies and cream gelato and strawberry gelato. 6 of us shared everything and we all took home some fir tomorrow. We just had to try it all. You won't be disappointed with this menu or service. Great job everyone. Can't wait to be back. read more

We ordered the large thin crust pepperoni pizza. The dough was a little thicker than most thin crust pizzas that I'm used to but I really enjoyed it. The crust had a good chew to it and the bottom was nicely charred. The cheese and sauce were flavorful and tasted like quality ingredients you'd want on your pizza. I order from here at least once a week it's usually always busy so expect an hour delivery but it's worth the wait . They also do catering which is a big plus I was very happy with my catering order. I had a thin crust cheese and sausage pizza here before and it was pretty good. The next time I came in, we got a stuffed cheese crust pizza. It fell flat for me. The bottom of the pizza was quite black but yet the top of the pizza was soupy. The cheese was falling off the entire pizza. The stuffed cheese crust wasn't very flavorful, I appreciate the attempt but it just wasn't worth the extra calories. You could barely taste the cheese in the crust, it mostly just tasted like over done crust. I would maybe try Capone's again because I live near by, but I will only get a thin crust basic pizza. read more

I placed an order online and it said 30min wait, we live 8min away so my husband went to go pick it up once that time cam. After him being gone for almost an hour I got a little worried and asked him what's going on, he tells me they're backed up and our order is delayed. He also tells me that everyone else got their food except for him. I thought weird.... So I called and was told 5 more min, my husband was told 20 more min, confusing and in consistent timing. I thought ok little hectic, but it happens no biggie especially if it's worth the wait per other reviews.. so, he finally got the order, and came home. I opened up the pizza carton and it looked like a regular pizza. We got a 16" large pan pizza, not exactly what I was hoping it would look like. I was definitely thinking it would be thicker and higher and more of a fluffy dough type of pizza. The flavor just wasn't there as it tasted like flavorless dough, with ingredients on top, the sauce saved it, but the dough was plain and I really didn't enjoy the pizza all that much. I can tell it was freshly done, but lacking flavor. The chicken tenders you can tell were frozen, and we're over done. Given this experience and the wait times to get our order, I don't think I'll be dining back here again. read more

I believe this is the same family that used to own the smaller spot over by the Portillos near Lake st. My family and myself have been eating subs and thin crust from here for many years. When they closed we were very disappointed. I hadn't been through the area in many years but I was Happy to see the got a new spot! I used to stop in here after school all the time for slices with my friends. Perfect crust, nice bubbles and air pockets, a bit of semolina...just Great tavern style thin crust that's becoming harder and harder to find. Very nice fresh made Italian sandwiches, pastas, etc. The owners are a very kind family who was always accommodating of me and my group of teenage friends, we would often grab a table and hang out for a bit eating slices and drinking RC cola. Always welcoming and cool, never made a fuss or kicked us out when we got obnoxious etc. A gem of a spot. I'm much older now, and appreciate spots like this even more. read more

Pizza was a big bummer. Capone's was on my list for some time and reviews were mostly all good. Pics looked pizzalicious, however in this case looks were deceiving. Pizza had 2 major flaws. Crust & sauce. Crust was an average thin & cooked properly, but really tough and chewy. My jaws were working overtime with each & every bite. The most chewy crust I've ever experienced with a noticeable amount of salt. Maybe the dough was overworked but eating it required effort and I really wanted to be in a happy place with my pizza. Sauce was salty and too acidic. Salty sauce on top of a salty crust is no buono. Cheese was good and I liked their sausage. Ordered 14" all shroom half sausage. All toppings were well balanced. I just wish the crust was more tender cause I really wanted to like this pizza. Crust was actually better (not as chewy) the next day after a short nuke. Baked clams were really good. Tasted fresh, not frozen, not chopped. Nice sized clams with a perfect amount of toasted breadcrumbs. I squeezed a little lemon juice and devoured all 6 all by myself. If you like old school Italian, you'll love Capone's! I live in the next town over and go out of my way to dine here; it's that good. Family-run and yes that family, not just a made-up name. Capone's in Bloomingdale is a small place with limited seating capacity where much of the kitchen in back is dedicated to a well-established take-out, delivery and catering operation, but don't let that stop you from dining in. Going there is always fun because not only is the food outstanding, the character of the place is inviting and the characters behind the counter are so likable. During good weather months they'll put some extra tables out on the sidewalk for customers who like to dine al fresco. What I love most about Capone's is how they treat their customers-- always like family. For me, this restaurant has been my go-to for pizza, pasta and parmesan dishes since 2014 when I first found out about the joint. My favorite dish is the homemade eggplant parmesan; any variation whether it's sandwich-style at lunchtime or a monster-sized dinner portion, it's simply the best I've had. Today I ordered the open-faced eggplant parm sandwich topped with roasted red peppers and some extra marinara on the side. It was the first time I've tried the sandwich this way and all I gotta say is wow, totally top notch! The time before that I ordered the eggplant parm dinner with a side of char-broiled Italian sausage which seemed like a perfect pairing to me; and it was absolutely unforgetably delicious! Dawn Capone and her husband, Danny, the proprietors, I've learned have been working in the restaurant business most of their lives and it shows. They really know Italian food and how to run a successful neighborhood pizzeria and catering operation. My recommendation is that you give them a try when you're good and hungry. Today I was in the mood for pizza and I was by the mall. I checked yelp for pizza joint and decide to try Capone's. I walk in it's a small place in a plaza. The silverware and cups on table seemed old and not that great of shape or wash. So I'm like great lol. Other than that the food is amazing so much to order from. The panzarottis is so good and I had a small and it was huge I can just imagine an xl. The pizza slices are good price and very good. The food overall great. I really had a taste for a calzone and was in the neighborhood and so I decided to give Capone's a try. I called ahead and placed my order for a calzone with spinach, mushroom and red pepper (which the red pepper was recommended) and 25 minutes later, the order was out of the oven and in my hands. The calzone was wonderfully stuffed with cheese and veggies. The dough was spot-on cooked (not too chewy, but not hard or overcooked). The whole thing was well seasoned! I placed a takeout order: stuffed artichoke, bruschetta, chicken francaise, grilled vegetables and garlic bread. The artichoke was OK. The bruschetta was so heavy with huge pieces of red onion and unripe cut tomato that it was inedible. The chicken franchise was awful, tasteless and dry, in a watery flavorless sauce on overdone pasta. The side of grilled vegetables which was SEVEN dollars consisted of a few pieces of mushy broccoli, a handful of peas, a couple of mushrooms and some cut carrot that was NOT grilled, horrible. The garlic bread which was $3.50 consisted of a split sausage roll with garlic butter, not the crusty loaf that is pictured in the menu. Very bad food ! $47 total bill. read more

Tonight we may have found our new favorite! We had visited Capone's for their delicious homemade Italian food several times. I love their eggplant parmigiana. Their food never disappoints. First time ordering here- the pizza was good, fresh, and you couldn't beat the price! Their thin crust is not paper thin crunchy more of a thicker dough but not double dough. The only thing that made me uncomfortable is that not one worker, cook, delivery driver etc (and there were about 6 there) had a mask on- not to cook and not to check out. Even the delivery driver that was sitting at the table waiting wasn't wearing a mask while customers were coming in and out to pick up. It is amazing as to how difficult it is to find a good pizza place in the far western suburbs. I was hoping Capones would be different based on the reviews. Not so. Their business is located in a small strip mall near Stratford Square Mall. Nice small cozy take out joint with a couple of tables, for those waiting for their food I imagine. I had ordered a large thin crust pizza with sausage and ricotta along with a meatball sandwich late on a Saturday afternoon. The order was hot and ready when I arrived. The people behind the counter were friendly. My disappointment only started when I came home and opened up the box. I could tell by the edges of the crust that the pizza had been overcooked. Most of the outer crust had started to blacken. The underside of the crust was dark brown dry and tough. I didn't mind that the top of the pizza was well done but that taste of crunchy burnt crust really doesn't go down well. Crispy pizza...good. Crunchy dry burnt pizza...bad. The meatball sandwich was average at best although I must say I am spoiled by family recipes. Had this pizza been taken out five minutes or so earlier I may have been writing a better review. Given that this semi-burnt pizza was boxed up and given to a customer tells me that the business may not give top priority to the quality of their food. read more

The food here is delicious. Outstanding service, huge portions, and reasonable prices. The last time my family was there we ordered a lot of food. We were moving this day and hadn't eaten so we treated ourselves. We started with an order of the fried ravioli. They were freshly made and served with the homemade marinara sauce. The inside was still gooey, while the outside had a good crunch. We were served warm bread with an olive oil and basil dipping sauce. We then ordered a Caesar salad to split. it looked like too much dressing, but ended up being amazing and full of flavor. Their dressing is homemade and you can taste he difference. My sister ordered a small deep dish pepperoni pizza. The crust is by far the best part. Lots of cheese throughout the pizza. My dad ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were amazing with a rich flavor. My mom ordered the eggplant parmesan, the same thing she always gets. She loved her dish. I ordered the angel pasta with vodka sauce and a side of Italian sausage. My food was probably the worst and yet still amazing and full of flavor.
