Got slices of pizza yesterday and they were super good as always. The sauce is very tasty and the crust has a garlic taste to it. They still have there specials but now $5 which isn't bad you get a slice with pop. I got a slice of cheese and pepperoni. You gotta try this spot. read more

Ample parking, friendly staff, hot pizza!!! Just flew in to Chicago & wanted a slice of pizza. Found this spot on Yelp & it was close to the hotel. Pizza slices were humongous!!! ...and delicious. Only drawback, it was a little greasy BUT nothing napkins couldn't soak up! . Sat outside to enjoy the weather along w/my slice. Plenty of deals & the prices are reasonable. I've ordered from Generoso a few times now, and I have to say, their pepperoni is the most flavorful I've had anywhere. I love everything about their pizza (always a thin crust pepperoni here!), except sometimes the crust may be a little tough around the outside pieces. The inner pieces are always perfect. We have lived in this area since 2016. First time trying Generoso tonight. Both of us were pleasantly surprised! Service was prompt and our orders were correct. Hubby remarked how nice it was that he thinks the owner made a point of talking to him. Prices were reasonable! I like the location on Army Trail and the fact that it is on the corner of the strip mall across the street from McDonald's. I had the shrimp meal which was good sized. I would get it again. I ordered for delivery yesterday because my car was being borrowed. I had tried a single cheeseburger in the past from Generoso and remembered how good it tasted. Well, I was really hungry, so I ordered a double cheeseburger, a fry and a Coke. Let me tell everyone that this burger was one of the best I have ever had. Cooked perfect and juicy with everything on it (I added mayo from home) Five Guys, or any other place has nothing on Generoso's for any food you have a taste for. I would definitely get this burger again. The pizza is fantastic here too- especially the hot giardiniera with beef. The staff and manager/owner are super friendly. Who has two thumbs and likes deep fried pizza? This guy!!! So my brother and I were in the mood for a slice the other day and I usually hit this place up for their panzarotti (deep fried calzone) but wasn't quite that hungry - so we just got the jumbo slices instead. On a side note if you like calzones try the panzarotti - it is further proof that if you can deep fry something it will make it better! So that being said the slice of pepperoni was good and somewhere in between a thin and a double dough. Its was covered in pepperoni so I couldn't complain and they had a side station to load up on chili flakes and the usual green can parm cheese. Overall for around $4 the lunch special for the slice and a pop is a good deal and definitely enough to fill you up without making you feel like you need a nap. In all honesty I still go here basically for the panzarottis. If you have never tried one before give it a chance and you wont forget it. read more

Ive lived around the corner from this place for 10 years and the other day was the first time ever i tried their pizza. These guys make the best gosh-darn pizzas. Everything is fresh and they don't skim on toppings. Menu items are decently priced and they always have amazing deals going on. Generoso Pizza is a small Pizzeria located in a little strip mall off of Army Trail Road in Glendale Heights. I happened to be nearby and had time to waste and decided to stop in and look over the menu. There's a few tables set up for dining in, along with a TV and a big order counter. After stopping in I looked over the options and noticed a two hot dog special. I decided to give it a try and within about 5 minutes my food was ready. The two hot dog special here consists of two Chicago style hot dogs and fries. The hot dog here came on a classic Chicago style poppy seed bun. The bun was soft with no signs of dryness. There were two fairly thick pickle spear/pickle slices on the dog. Neither were quite as long as the sausage itself, but fortunately neither were too sour either. The actual hot dogs used here were skinless dogs, they were well heated and tasty. There were some thinly sliced tomato slices on the dog, some short sport peppers. And a good application of onion, mustard and relish. The only thing really missing from this hot dog was celery salt. Everything went together fairly well outside of the thick pickle slices. The fries included here were fairly thick fries, they weren't too salty but were a bit bland as far as the potato paste goes. They were certainly plentiful with the hot dog special. These fries neither blew me away, nor was I sick of them after a few. So I'd say they're slightly above average but not great. While I've not actually tried the Pizza here, the hot dog special was good, and I'd recommend it. I'm going to give Generoso pizza a four star rating. Good food at a fair price. read more

On my quest to try every pizza place on earth, I decided to try this place after driving by one million times. Ordered a pizza to pick up. Half pepperoni, half sausage. I get this combo quite often when trying out a new place because I like to find out about the quality of their sausage + pepperoni. Went in to pick up the pizza and had a short chat with the owner. Very friendly guy. Onto the pizza.......it was alright. Not special in my book. The sauce was a little on the sweet side. Not crazy sweet but I still picked up on it. I prefer a more acidic sauce as my choice but I'm open to try them all. Crust, Cheese + toppings were alright, a little heavy on the cheese. A big factor in having a great pizza is balance in the ingredients. A little hard to explain but when it's there, you know it. Neapolitan style is my favorite, but I like all types of pizza. This pizza was only OK to me but I'm sure others will like it more who prefer a sweeter type sauce. My quest continues for the perfect 'Za and I have a few new leads. Bottom line is this: Always support your independent pizzeria owner. Always!! read more
