I went here for lunch today with some colleagues, and my mind was blown; Truly delicious pizza! I had the hot honey pepperoni and the meatball vodka pizza, and they were equally incredible. The quality ingredients stand out for sure, the perfect preparation shines, but the real star is the crust. It's chewy in the right places, crispy at the end, buttery, and holds up to serious toppings. For pizza that quality to be prepared and cooked within a reasonable time was impressive, and it wasn't like it was empty - we had great service even with a ton of take out orders and diners in the restaurant. The seating area is modest, but I was there for the pizza - and boy did it show up. Easy 5 stars. read more

Think, crisp crust with amazing red sauce and toppings. Quality ingredients. Get anything there and you will be happy. EASILY THE BEST. First time at the Nemec Brothers Pizzeria with my wife! I saw a reel on TikTok that stated this place sells Halal Pepperoni Pizzas so we had to stop by and try it! We were greeted immediately by the staff and given menus by the very kind waitress. The pizza shop has a nice ambiance with decent amount of seating upstairs and downstairs. For our appetizer we ordered the Garlic Twits which were drenched in butter and Parmesan cheese plus for the main pie we did NYC style half cheese and half halal pepperoni. Super friendly and the best pizza around. Can't go wrong with any of their pizzas but the pepperoni and ricotta is drool-worthy.

We decided to return here after 3 months. This is our second attempt to see if the pizza is any good. This time around, the restaurant was really busy with customers. We were going to order an appetizer but the veal meatballs were out. If I had any criticism, it would be to include another appetizer item like the cheese curds or arancini. We had the garlic twists before and thought they were okay. Little Pops in Lisle has garlic knots that look very familiar to these, but they do them better like they're incredibly soft and moist with flavor. Anyways, we just ordered the pesto and sausage pizza and nothing else. When it came out, it looked and smelled fantastic. It has a pretty decent undercarriage. The crust is crispy but it will become very chewy when it gets cold. I really loved the flavor. Tons of pesto and sausage. That hot honey really adds another layer to the flavor. The fresh mozzarella was one of the best I've ever had. This pizza was definitely a step up from last time. The service was wonderful, the waitress was very attentive and checked up on us often. Fantastic new pizza joint in downtown Glen Ellyn. Great location right by the train tracks. Friendly, efficient staff. Wall art gives off a cool downtown Chicago vibe. The food is fantastic. We had the hot honey grandma pie and it was incredible. The olive salad was very fresh and tasty with good ingredients including fresh mozzarella. The garlic knots were very tasty but a little bit too saturated with butter. Seating upstairs is somewhat limited, but they have additional seating in the basement. I have been an avid fan of Zaza's but city driving can be a bit hectic. When I heard of their sister store opening in the suburbs, I felt like I won. However it's not the same. Zaza's is consistent and great so I have never had any issues. But with Nemec I've often experienced dry dough and sometimes even chewy. They don't always carry halal pepperoni like Zaza which can be a downfall for me. I feel like even though they say it's the same concept, it's very different. They don't have ranch here but they have other sauces that don't exist at Zaza so maybe it's a sister store but it's its own entity or ran by someone else. Service can be slow and confusing at times even with a lot of workers on staff so that doesn't add up. Ambience is clean and suburban so very different than a NYC advertised pizza place. But it makes sense for being in upscale Glen Ellyn. I wish the food can be improved so I don't have to drive to the city location but for now if I want Zaza style pizza, I will make the drive than to Nemec here in the burbs. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and I'm glad they opened a location closer to me. It's a small spot, but it was very busy when I walked in. Usually I'd play it safe and get something I know, but the white pie caught my eye. I'm glad I tried it. It was actually delicious! The sesame seed crust was crunchy. The lemon on my pizza was nothing I've ever seen. I was a little skeptical at first, but the lemon juice on the slice was perfect. I also go the garlic knots which were pretty good. I liked the crispy top. I'd like if the sides could be crispy as well. The pesto was a little salty for my taste. Overall, I will have to come back and grab another slice or two. Stopped by Nemec Brother's new Downtown Glen Ellyn location. I have previously been to the Geneva location and knewI needed to see how this one compared. They have a similar fun new york urban style to play on the new york style pizza. The inside has a branded colorful mural, neon branding sign, brick wall, open kitchen, and seating for 24. We got there right when they opened at noon of a Saturday. We loved that they sell slices Wed-Sun from 12-4pm (or till they run out). We knew the pizzas were just made and actually got some of the first slices. The pizzas by the slice they had available were Mike's Hot Pepperoni, White Pie, Sausage, Pepperoni, Classic Cheese, and Gold Metal Pie. We got slices of the Mike's Hot Honey ($5.50), White Pie ($5.50), and the Classic Cheese ($4.50). I love a good classic cheese that hits the spot and this did just that. The Mike's Hot Pepperoni was the best by far! Fresh ricotta cheese to balance out the spiced pepperoni and sweet heat of the honey. The White Pie was alright but in comparison to the other two, fell flat. I server was sweet and was very attentive knowing we were only ordering slices. We thought the value per slice knowing how unique they were, was worth the cost. We love the addition to Downtown Glen Ellyn and plan to visit again soon! read more

Overall (A) It's really good pizza. I would recommend checking it out - especially if you are within 15-20 minutes radius - located in the quaint downtown Glen Ellyn. Quality (A) It is not the best Ny style pizza but it's a good safe bet for Chicagoland suburbs. If I need led to go to a place that I knew would make everyone happy - I would bring them or pick up from here. We got the pepperoni and everyone liked it. The Garlic knots are really good and garlicky. I thought they were great but the girls said they had too much oil. The pesto sauce that came with the knots was really good. I pizza is enough for 2-3 individuals. The pizza is high quality and it seems like they use fresh ingredients. Service (A-) The food was ready on time and the staff was super friendly and nice. But I think they are still working on operations. It took them a while to get the sauces together for the garlic knots - which should have been ready since I was late picking up my order. It was not a big deal and they quickly addressed without any prompting from me. Value (B) It's not cheap. We spent $40 to feed 3 Individuals for carryout. Note - it was 1 adult and 2 not so hungry teens. Honestly if they were hungry we would not of had enough food. So to properly feed a family of four it would be around $50-$60 for carryout pizza (no drink) - that seems steep to me. felt like it was a bit pricey dor NY style pizza. Maybe we are paying for the overhead cost in downtown GE. You can be the judge but I felt like I should have paid between $25-$30. Not $40 for 3 garlic knots and a pizza. You get 3 very large garlic knots with an order. I Go try this place out. Next time I will go during the day and try some slices. Not sure if I will order a whole pizza since it is pricey. But do enjoy slices and would like to try some others. My recommendation would be have slices all day all the time. read more

I ordered the salad with mixed greens and olives and also the veal meatball appetizer. The salad had fresh greens. However, the salad dressing was straight up pure vinegar. Absolutely no olive oil was mixed into it. It was completely inedible. The meatballs were decent, so I ate them instead. But by the middle of the night, I did not feel well at all. And by the I was regretting it altogether. I don't know if they weren't completely cooked all the way through, or the meat was bad. But let's just say that I was "sick" from the experience. I wouldn't come back here. The other thing I noticed was that all the condiments were sitting in the front window underneath the hot sun. Nothing was on the tables, you had to ask for them. I also only provided a fork with my meal, and had to ask for knife. They wouldn't even bring you a complete set of utensils of a fork, knife, spoon. This was so odd to me. I told you I was a pizza lover so I'm at round 3! I went to order the Grandma pizza again but, unfortunately, they were out of stock. No worries. I'll order the wonderful thin crusted pie. I placed the order at 6:20p and the email confirmation said it would be ready at 7:15. Not bad considering it was a Friday night and ordered in the middle of what I suspect is dinner rush. I sent my son to pick it up and he arrived at 7:17. They told him it wasn't ready and would need 15 more minutes. He wasn't happy and I told him to order a drink while he waited. The wait turned into over 50 minutes since it was done at 8:08. Nemec has some of the best pizza in the area and give the food a 5 all day. The service and support continues to be lagging way behind the food quality. I hope they work out the bugs soon. read more

Unfortunately, I was very let down by this pizza spot. I really wanted to like it, and it may have been just bad luck with my experience. This is my first real experience with an authentic NY style pizza. I ordered a classic cheese pizza but added sausage on one side. On the other side I added pepperoni, ricotta, and Basil. Side of hot honey. The good: It looked great. Order was made correctly and on time. Inside was not busy and had a nice vibe, very friendly staff. The Bad: The food! Sausage side of the Pizza was overly salty, for my taste. There was very little cheese as well. I prefer a more traditional "crumbled" sausage style instead of the thicker slices of sausage they use here. The sausage tasted just okay. It was a bit spicy which was a plus for me, but not my girlfriend. This may just be how NY style pizza is though. The garlic knots were very dense inside and certain parts were undercooked. It tasted doughy overall. The marinara dipping sauce is just raw tomato sauce, tasting no different than something straight from a can. Pesto dipping sauce was very good though. Overall, I may have to give it another shot and maybe try one of their specialty pizzas instead of customizing it. We tend to prefer classic sausage here, so that would have been ideal. read more

And the garlic knots and the big ass chocolate chip cookie. The really stand out was the Fibonacci pizza - it was just that amazing and inventive and delicious. The chocolate chip cookie was okay. I ordered 1 slice of the hot honey pizza and a can coke. It was my first time eating here and it being located next door to the theater I chose it over tacos. A very nice young man manning the order and payment post asked what I'd like. I inquired about the beautiful and strange looking pizza among many on display. After a description he shared of the ingredients, I chose it. I was not disappointed. The crust is thin very thin but the crust is bloated and crispy. The pizza, this particular one, is greasy as hellO but, just like heaven in your mouth once you figure out how to pick it up and eat it without ending up with the pepperoni grease all over you. I suppose I could have gotten utensils but, I opted today to be daring and brave. I'm happy to report, i didn't get a grease bath as i drained the grease by picking up a corner of the pizza and let it drip onto the wax paper it arrived on. Kudos to the inventor of this particular pizza. Great! Is the word aside from pizza being the word here. I will definitely be back for more pizza in the future. Delicious! We used to live in Lakeview/Lincoln Park in Chicago and would go to Zazas there! We moved out here last summer. And now saw Nemec Brothers opened this godsend in Glen Ellyn! Couldn't be happier one of our favorite city pizzas followed us to the burbs! Just as great at Zazas! Owners and workers are super nice! The food was amazing! Now I understand it is opening day today and that's not my issue. I think they were pretty efficient considering it was the first day! in fact, I don't think I've ever seen more efficiency on a first day. that's the plus side of it. The negative side is where they seated me. I had people leaning over my table. I literally felt like I had people eating with me and staring at me, which I can't stand when I eat. I cannot stand when somebody stares at you or hangs over your table while you're eating, that's how I feel! Very cramped inside. I had employees leaning over my table. Yelling orders literally over my head. I had high school girls with booty shorts basically in my food, just not an overall good experience or atmosphere. now let's get to the very sparse menu. All the slices looked pretty good in the case that's where it ends. I might have a different pallette than everybody else, but I didn't find the pizza appealing at all, I thought the toppings were sparse. The crust was so hard that my tooth hurts, the slices are extremely small for the price!! The garlic knots they came out and looked really good (and you only get three which are smaller than the palm of your hand for eight dollars) and they come with a side of marinara (which tasted absolutely horrible) and pesto (which I'm not a fan of) although they look good, they did not taste good! They were the blandest garlic knots I've ever had. I've bought them at Jewel and made them myself and they taste better for example. They were extremely hard to chew and very chewy actually, as you can see in my picture I don't know that I'm going to return. I tried it and that's great but it's not something I'm going to hurry back to. think they will succeed in the business where they're at mostly (because of the high school) but personally, I'm not a fan. I am going to give it a two because of the efficiency of the service on the first day everything else caused it to go downhill quickly read more
