The actual food was better before. My combo sandwich was somewhat bland. I remember the hot dog being bigger before. It went from a deli hot dog to a regular sized one. My wife thought the turkey burger was bigger before as well. Overall, I remember it being more flavorful in the past. My potato salad was still very good. The cannoli pieces were outstanding. The place was fairly crowded being Mother's Day, and the service was pretty quick. Turkey burgers take a while to cook. It's always lively but quiet in the restaurant which I like. I wasn't expecting much when I walked in, but that changed as soon as I got to the counter. The young man working there was incredibly enthusiastic and genuinely passionate about what he does. He spoke very highly of his father and grandfather, which was really nice to hear and showed how much pride they take in the business. I ordered the Rigatoni alla Vodka, and it was excellent--rich, creamy, and full of flavor. The salad that came with the dinner was fresh and crisp, not wilted at all. We also tried the cracker-thin crust pizza, and it was fantastic. The sauce had a subtle sweetness that I'm not normally used to, but it paired perfectly with the salty cheese and created a great balance of flavors. Pizza Napoli formally known as Napoli Pizza of bloomingdale has been a staple in this community for decades, from papa Vito his amazing children, and now his amazing grandchildren keeping the legacy alive. The pizza has not changed one bit over the 53 years they've been in business the sweet sauce compliments the savory grande cheese. The home made meatballs are to die for.
