    Mezze platter, all fantastic

I'm so happy the owners of Istanbul have opened another restaurant. Same fabulous, authentic dishes just at a new location. The old venue was more inviting and intimate, but I guess you can't beat the prime location on Church St. Service was excellent and the patio is great on nice weather days.

    Turkish Coffee

Charming little spot, I'm just here for the Turkish coffee to be honest. For food I've only had the Kebabs so far which are decent.

Saw this place while wandering Church Street and I'm glad I stopped in! Very beautiful decor inside with tile and the lamps. Good amount of seating inside and outside for the space. I sat outside and my food came out within 10-15 minutes after ordering. I got the döner kebab and the beef/lamb was so good. To wash it down I got a pomegranate tea. Would definitely recommend. Also fun to people watch if you sit outside.

Best new restaurant in Burlington, Vermont. Cappadoccia Bistro is an absolute gem. From the very first bite, the food was wow--full of rich flavors, homemade, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. The desserts were next-level. Whether it was flaky, sweet or creamy. The chocolates, each one was a perfect ending to the meal. You can tell they put real care into every detail. And don't miss the tea and coffee. The variety is impressive.

    Lahmacun

The food here was so tasty. We started with some babaganoush, with main dishes of chicken wings and lahmacun along with an excellent glass of red wine. We ended the evening with Turkish coffee and dessert. The inside is really cute and we appreciated the music. There was also nice outdoor seating.

Chicken Doner Kebab with Mediterranean Salad

So delicious, you must try it! Random stop on our way home from Montreal, wish we had one in southern Maine!

Amazing food, perfect menu duality for both popping in for a snack and sitting down for a meal. Lovely bright tiled interior.

Came into The Hot Cafe for breakfast and ordered the breakfast sandwich. It wasn't very busy--no…read moreline when I arrived, and most people seated already had their food--so I was surprised that my sandwich still took about 30 minutes to come out. I had great expectations because of reviews and I hate to leave a negative review on popular places. The cashier/server was friendly, and the place has a classic small American café vibe, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the food really missed the mark for me. The "crispy cheese" just tasted burnt rather than crispy, and there were way too many greens--cilantro and parsley--which completely overpowered the sandwich. I also didn't care for the sauces at all. Overall, it wasn't a good sandwich. I didn't even finish it and ended up going somewhere else to eat. Between the long wait and the disappointing food, I don't think I'd come back.

The menu is a little chaotic and hard to read, but I did my research beforehand and knew I probably wanted the brakefast sandwich. Luckily Nate ordered the special number 8 and my friend got the basterd bing, so we all kind of shared. Everything is vegetarian! The employee taking our order was super friendly and kind, very much appreciated! We also got some coffee drinks and a donut to share. The donuts are made with biscuit dough, which was interesting and tasty. The texture is quite dense but not dry. Our food was ready quickly and the portions were large - you could definitely share something if you're not super hungry. I need to take a moment to talk about the number 8 sandwich. It BLEW MY MIND in the greatest way ever. I LOVE when I eat foods I've never had, even more so when those foods are delicious and mind-boggling. This is a breakfast sandwich on a tasty sesame bun and it features chicken fried egg. So imagine a pile of scrambled eggs that they somehow deep fry(???) and it turns into something that so closely resembles fried chicken it's wild. Seriously I'm still thinking about this sandwich. I know it sounds so weird but really you just have to try it. The brakefast sandwich was good, but VERY MESSY. Plan for lots of napkins. I will be back for the number 8.

The barkeep was far more interested in her conversations with her friends at the bar than me. I asked for a deli menu and never got one. My old fashioned had far too much bitters. Like, far too much. I had to be really assertive to get the tab she was so focused in her friends. This place seems cool, but unless you are "in" with the 'keep, not much to be said.

First thing to know: this place is a sandwich shop by day, cocktail lounge by night. Second thing to know: make sure you REALLY love meat. The deli: I honestly don't know what to say...but I will anyway! First off, they offer about 12 regular sandwiches, half of them hot and half of them cold. They also have specials and make your owns. Keep in mind that all sandwiches can be hot (or cold I'm guessing!). One thing is that most sandwiches have minimal veg ingredients but it's definitely worth it. Staff-wise, all the guys (and yes they were all men when I visited) were really nice and helpful. Definitely ask their thoughts if you can't decide!! On my visit, I ordered their spin on a Cuban and...daaang! The sandwich weighed AT LEAST 2 lbs!!! What's more, it was mostly meat! This is the first sandwich that I have enjoyed an appropriate bread to meat ratio. I mean this thing was severely pregnant with meat! Whew! Honestly, I probably could have saved half of it for lunch but it was so good that I ate all of it. In a separate visit, the cocktail lounge was very posh in an old school speakeasy jazz club type of way. All of the menus are glued to actual books (is that legal??) and they have a great cocktail list. Their chocolate cake is excellent as well! The room is divided into a music room and the bar area. You can still see the music but it was nice to be divided if you wanted to talk vs listen to music. Overall: the sandwich will hold you over for a week (or at least the day!) and the cocktails are great!
