I was shocked to see so many negative reviews of this place - I'm not quite sure where they came from. We had a lovely experience here. We stopped here for breakfast this morning and this place was so cute, had great customer service, and good food. The menu is relatively small, but this place is so mindful of dietary restrictions and offers vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. They have pastries in addition to their full menu as well. The staff was super friendly and had great customer service. I didn't catch our server's name, but one of the people in our group didn't love the food that she ordered - she ordered oatmeal and didn't realize it was made with milk. The server offered to refund us for the purchase and remake the meal and was so sweet and understanding. The space itself was charming and had plenty of booths and tables for people to sit. Found this place as we were looking to get onto VT 116 south, this is at a convenient location for those looking for breakfast when getting on the road. Agree with the other reviewers that place is very short staffed, and has real potential to improve its services to attract more travelers. Food was great, service needs improvement (served coffee to the brim). Youngsters serving were polite but generally understaffed. Everything bagel, burrito and latte were all made well. read more

We Have Only been there for takeout but they have the best carnitas tacos around and at a great price. Atmosphere is nice with booths and windows and plan to eat in one of these days. Staff is always super nice. read more

Looking for a breakfast place nearby, my friend and I checjed Yelp and Parkside popped up. Looking at the pics, I saw they have not only sit-down food options, but pastries. The food was excellent and the service excellent. You order at the bakery counter which gives you time to admire the beautiful cupcajes you can order, plus an array of scones, muffins, and puff pastries. They also make bagels, which were good, too. Teens running the front end with absolutely no training clearly being asked to do too much running the register, making drinks, and running food to tables. Taking orders and then not filling them. Ordered a muffin from the case, a bagel and a latte. After 10 minutes went back to ask for our muffin since it was premade. When I asked, it seemed like a revelation that they could have just given that to me immediately. After another 10 went back to ask about my bagel and coffee. Neither had been started and our ticket was sitting on the counter. We're talking probably the ultimate simple order. Not the first time I've seen this but it will be my last. Hinesburg is a small town with few options for restaurants, that is especially true for breakfast. Parkside Cafe is really our only cafe in town. While it had a rocky beginning, under new management it is a great spot. They are improving daily. Standard breakfast options like eggs, house granola, and pastries, but some excellent choices such as egg burritos, egg tacos, egg bagel sandwiches, and more. I have been loving the lunch options, many sandwiches, wraps, meat and veggie options. Coffee is good, espresso is decent. But what you have to come here for now is the tacos, empeñadas and quesadillas! The new owner is making everything in house and bringing amazing authentic Mexican and Dominican food to the menu. It's so good. Can't get a lot of this anywhere else. The staff here is super friendly. The owner is always taking time to talk with and get to know her customers. I spend many days a week in here for class, meetings and catching up with friends. They take Covid precautions but allow indoor dining! I went for breakfast and ordered 2 eggs over easy with toast (you could have toast OR greens). They came as two small eggs, with ONE piece of small toast without any butter, jam, or anything. It was the saddest breakfast I have ever had and all for $7.99. The presentation was pitiful and the entire restaurant including our table needs a good cleaning. New management and what a great improvement. Currently family run I have now been 3 times and each experience was 2 thumbs up!! The lunch Baba's Tacos with carnitas were super yummy and filling. Wonderful cafe in the heart of Hinesburg. I have been multiple times and have never been disappointed. Breakfasts are delicious and especially a treat to enjoy outside in their patio in warmer weather (I'm a BIG fan of the breakfast burrito). Can't go wrong with lunch options: chicken sandwich; tacos; Club - are all fantastic. Service is always friendly and prompt. The new management took over just at the end of 2020 and the food and service are now amazing. The tacos, the quesadillas and chicken sandwich from Baba's Tacos are amazing, and the pastries from local bakers and pastry chefs are to die for (French macarons, croissants...) . The portions are now generous and I honestly was stuffed after my serving of tacos and saved my macarons for later. Prices are fair, considering the portion size have increased. I mostly ordered for takeout, but there are sitting options as well inside or outside during the summer months. It's my favorite spot for a cup of coffee with a muffin or a couple of breakfast/lunch items, while working on my laptop (free WiFi). read more

Okay, so, people will forgive bad service or bad food a few times, but not both after a certain number. Not sure what happened tonight, but the food was sub par with corn tortillas that were too crunchy to be soft and too soft to be crunchy and just ended up seeming like a stale version of each. Sweet potato fries were obviously frozen from a bag, and I feel like we can do better in Vermont with great local options right in town. First of all it is important that this establishment is under new OWNERSHIP and the old MANAGEMENT is history. We have frequented this location a couple of times for take out during the Covid 19 epidemic. I can attest that social distancing is paramount and masks are required and the staff is professional, protective and their customers are their number one priority. The food is excellent and should not be confused with the past management. Quality and portions are superlative and the choices vary by day with the excellence always remaining. If you were not satisfied in the past give it a try again and whether you dine in or take out you will not be disappointed. Pricing is more than comparable to similar offerings in the area but the establishment has a new "feel" one of pride and professionalism to make certain you get your monies worth and are happy with the offerings.
