Although it is situated in the corner of a strip mall, once you step inside, you would never know that you were in a strip mall. The decor is nice and exhibits some cutlltural pieces like their coffees and tea as well as some art work on their walls. When it comes to service, their host educated me on Turkish food, how it is prepared and their health benefits as well as the difference between their cuisine and other Mediterranean cuisines. Very insightful. The food was so delicious. I came in for lunch and order their combo lunch specials. The dishes oozed with flavor and were all moist and tasty. It came with a variety of proteins from chicken, pork, kefta, and filafel. All delicious and leaving me wanting more. To top it off while I waited, the host gave me some Turkish tea on the house. It is black tea, unsweetened and the leaves come from T

Come here lots, but first time trying the spinach pies. I like spinach pies but never had any so light, crispy, fresh and amazing like these. I had the lentil soup and the spinach pies- fantastic and do good. I highly recommend.

This place is fire. Friendly service, cozy ambiance, and delicious food. I got the lunch combination, and I cleaned my plate. The meats were cooked perfectly!

Came in for a weekday dinner around 6pm and the place was not that busy. By the end of the evening it a good amount of the tables did fill up. We ordered a couple of appetizers, a shared mixed plate of meats and then they brought us out a dessert of rice pudding the share. The food was delicious, very comparable to a place further out west and not as close to the North suburbs. The appetizers were good sized, the beets dip and the falafel. My favorite app was the pizza type dish, very tasty and vest eaten with the add ins they give you to put on top of it. The beet dip was tasty and came with bread to dip in. The bread here was more dense than what I have had before, but I enjoyed it. The main we ordered to share was perfect with a selection of all the variety of meats. They were tasty and perfectly cooked, not over done. Like a lot of Turkish places the hospitality was great with rice pudding given to us at the end, on the house as well as tea.

04/20/25 - My wife & I were able to find Cappadocia Mediterranean Grill a great Turkish restaurant on Waukegan Ave in Morton Grove. My wife ordered a chicken shawarma on a thick pita bread w/red onions & cilantro & a mint yogurt sauce. I ordered the Kofte Kebab - Ground lamb and beef mixed w/Turkish herbs & spices grilled over an open flame. My dish also came w/a salad, rice w/garbanzo beans & a mint yogurt sauce. Nicely designed interior space w/some beautiful photos of Cappadocia that have fueled my desire to go to Turkey. Cappadocia is an area in Turkey about 732km or 455 miles from Istanbul. Cappadocia is known for its unique moon like structures, cone shaped hills & underground caves & hot air balloons. Both Istanbul & Cappadocia are on my bucket list for places I will go to in the near future

Visiting family and came here for lunch. I really enjoyed the grape leaves and tea. Falafel wrap was also very good. Decent price and filling. Quiet and clean restaurant with quick and courteous service. We would return.

My friend and I came for lunch for the first time. We were greeted by our waiter, Burak, and he explained about their menu. We ordered Ezme as appetizers to share, I ordered Chicken sandwich and my friend ordered Kebab platter. Ezme has a lot of flavors, a bit spicy but not too much, and the bread which came with it was so soft and delicious! Chicken sandwich was also very delicious, w/ fresh ingredients. When I asked Burak for some ketchup for the fries, he brought it right away with another homemade sauce which we absolutely loved! So flavorful! We finished our lunch with baklava with Turkish coffee. Perfect combination! Great food and great service. I'll definitely come back!

This was my first visit. I was just driving through. What a find. The server was wonderful and very helpful in selecting dishes. I had the lunch baked eggplant and the lentil soup. It was all delicious. I ordered rice pudding for dessert and he served me Turkish tea. Definitely worth a stop. 5 stars all the way.

Cappadocia in central Turkey is a fairytale land of caves, fairy chimneys and hot air balloons while Cappadocia Mediterranean Grill is in a somewhat nondescript strip mall off Waukegan offering Turkish and Mediterranean favorites. My vegetarian combination plate had an assortment of hummus, eggplant and ezme (tomatoes, bell peppers and walnuts) dips, with falafel. I am not a big fan of falafel but these were some of the tastiest falafel I've had. Along with the pita, this really was enough but of course I ordered a Greek Salad too. The salad was fresh and tasty and topped with lots of feta. The portions were very generous. The service is friendly, the food is delicious and plentiful, the dining room is rather spartan, though if you are here for Turkish and Mediterranean dishes, you have come to the right Cappadocia.

Absolutely splendid! We got the Adana Kebob dish (lamb) and Imam Bayildi (roasted stuffed eggplants). Both were delicious. Excellent flavor and perfect portion size. The restaurant area is very family-friendly, spacious, and quiet. Highly recommend.

I came to Cappadocia in a salty mood. I was hungry and didn't have a lot of patience. The host/waiter greeted me with a smile, explained the dishes, and answered my questions. He brought me hot pepper flakes to spice up the lentil soup, which wasn't too watery. The chicken breast and Shepards salad was exactly what I was looking for: protein and vegetables. Overall, I enjoyed the food and service. I'll certainly come back.

The food was amazing. Service was outstanding she gave us a free rice pudding and free starter. The place was small but very clean. Great for a quick lunch or dinner. Delicious food . Highly recommend the eggplant!

I've eaten at a lot of Turkish restaurants in the Chicago area and this was by far the best. The breads were very good, the lahmacun unparalleled and the Adana kebop among the best as well. I highly recommend it.

For the food the seafood platter was good the salmon was cooked perfectly but we were a bit disappointed with the Shawarma plate according to my friend the beef and lamb tasted like jerky so he was really disappointed with it we did order a lamp kebab which was really good I am very picky with my lamb and this one I would go back for because it didn't have that after it taste that I don't like when eating lamb. I would definitely still go back to try some other stuff in the menu. But definitely will have to try the meat kabob instead of the shawarmas next time. Happy eating!

The look of this place is definitely part of the draw, you couldn't ask for a nicer backdrop. We we're seated right away at a nice table. We went over the menu and got a rundown from our servers about dish sizes and what was good to share or more of an entree, which was helpful. Really nice service here, mimicking high end city restaurants. We landed on some hummus with pita, falafel, kefta kabob, and chicken with rice and salad. All very well executed. The pita and hummus were probably my favorite of the things we tried, really tasty and the pita was actually seasoned too. Perfect pita. Kabob was super tender and had good flavor. I also tried one of their cocktails, the cactus queen. Pretty decent, a little plain. I liked this spot a lot! I need to come back and try some more stuff. I wasn't as blow away with the flavors as I hoped I'd be, everything was good but at the price point here I had hoped to leave more satisfied. I think the play here might be lots of small plates and maybe wine over cocktails if your in that mood. Will definitely return for the service and ambiance!

We didn't notice until our way out but they also have a drive-thru, and signs that say they offer delivery/are on DoorDash, so with multiple options, Charcoal Flame is convenient. This building looks like it possibly used to be an old 90s/00s KFC or Pizza Hut or something, but it's cozy and clean and we love an easy access parking lot. The menus are expansive and you order at the counter when you walk in. There are plenty of tables for dining in, and a few were taken while we were there. There was a steady stream of phone orders coming in for pick up, and the restaurant was busy overall. We were helped right away and the staff at the counter were so friendly. I ordered a Maxwell street sausage as a meal ($5 additional for a drink and fries) and my partner ordered the American Gyro sandwich and also as a meal. We grabbed a table and our drinks from the fountain machine and only waited a few minutes for the number on our receipt to be called with our order. The food here is so fresh and delicious. This is one of the best Maxwell street sausages I've had around, the bread was perfect and soft inside and crispy on the outside with the sausage split and grilled and perfectly sweet caramelized onions. The fries looked like they came in frozen/pre-cut but were fried up perfect and a generous portion. The Gyro came stacked with meat, it wasn't dry, and had great flavor. Because the food was so delicious I decided to grab a piece of baklava to go, which I was assured was homemade and delicious - and they were right. So sweet, fresh, textured, rich, luxurious. Don't skip the baklava when you stop by! This is definitely a spot that will be added to our regular rotation of lunch/dinner spots around town. Than I read something on instagram that they serve the best gyros, I just had to swing by. I ordered their Gyros Dinner Plate and their Pork Chops Dnner Plate. I also got their Kefte Dinner Plate for my son Alex. Alex said his kefte plate was good. I, on the other hand, found my touted Gyros plate, kinda "meh". The meat was kinda bland, although those humongous greek potato wedges were awesome! I bought the pork chops for din-din with my wife later that night. Unfortunately, the chops were tough and chewy! I know it's tough to cook pork chops, but, they're a restaurant. You'd think they'd know how to cook pork chops the right way. So, in conclusion, it was a big letdown for me on this new find. I'd have to say that their servings are quite abundant, but It terribly lacks in taste and texture, and I don't think quantity equals quality here.
