I have been here twice now and have now had two bad experiences here. Both times, the service was poor and completely unacceptable. Both times, it was not busy, yet the staff still completely ignored our table after taking our order. Even when we'd call them over, they'd just turn away or go to another table. Infuriating. Once we received our food, no one bothered to check up on us at any point or asked if we needed anything. Did not even refill out waters. When it came time to pay, same thing. We ended up having to get up to go pay since they would not bring the check or even a to-go box to us. It's one thing to have personally experienced this treatment twice, but to hear friends experience the same treatment is quite telling.

I ate here a few days ago and it was good. Not Great - but Solidly GOOD. I had the Kofta Wrap, and a plate of Hummus. Both were solid. My girlfriend had the Chicken Kabob (which I warned her against because it was breast-meat, which usually means "dry" - but her chunks of breast-meat were MOIST and Delicious). And the reason was clear: every piece was cut to exactly the same size, and each one was perfectly grilled, being basted in juice and fat (probably olive oil mixed with herbs & chicken skin so it didn't become dry). Most chicken kabobs that we have ordered at other places were overcooked chunks of different sizes and shapes, making them impossible to grill uniformly. So in order to make sure that the largest piece isn't served with a raw center, all of the smaller pieces come out over-cooked. But NOT at Antepli. Here it was PERFECT. Deserts looked amazing, but portions were big and the food was expensive, so we didn't indulge, which I think was a mistake. My favorite thing was the strong black tea. It cost only $1.95, and it was bottomless (so I drank 6 glasses). We had two servers. The girl was a wonderful server, but the guy was kind of oblivious. The restaurant itself was modern and clean. I would come here again. Particularly if I win the Lotto. And there is PARKING.

I came here with my friend yesterday and I love this type of food. I don't know enough about Kurdish food and Turkish food but have been to enough Turkish restaurants to understand this is very authentic. The beef and chicken thighs were amazingly succulent Service very prompt. Such a good vibe They have their own home made selection of baklava and there's about 8-10 different flavors to try Amazing If I lived in Chicago I would come here many times

This local place was amazing. There is a small parking lot that offers free parking. The highlight here was the lahmacun. A thin crispy flat bread topped with meat. I would highly recommend that dish. The service here was exceptional. They were attentive and knowledgeable. The server was very helpful to explain the menu and gave recommendations. There's plenty of seating inside and I didn't need a reservation to have a table. I would highly recommend trying this place out!

My wife killed it with this recommendation. I'm always down for delicious lamb, and this place did not disappoint. Their food brought back so many memories of our time living in Turkey. The salad, hummus, rice, lamb, etc. made me miss that place so much. Our server was Turkish so it was cool to tell her our experiences and vice versa. Overall, I can't find anything to complain about. The chicken shish and lamb were cooked and seasoned perfectly. I didn't try the baklava, but my wife said it was delicious too. I'm spreading the word to anyone that goes to Chicago to eat here!

Everything is absolutely delicious here. The vibe is nice and spacious, the staff are really friendly, and everything about the place is great. I ordered the iskender, kunefe, and turkish coffee. The iskender was a fantastic portion, so much meat, and the flavor was incredible. Lots of sauce, lots of yogurt. Loved my kunefe with the coffee as well. The kunefe was perfectly warm and the cheese was amazing. I hope to be back here very soon to maybe try something new but honestly probably order the same things. I would absolutely recommend this place! Top notch establishment.

What an amazing reminder of how delicious Turkish food is!!!! My family was so excited when I chose this and it was actually authentic Turkish food!!! The coffee was strong. The cheese pide was a great reminder for our boys that tasted just like what they used to eat overseas. The bread to dip in the hummus was great, and the hummus was smooth and flavorful. My chicken breast kebabs were grilled perfectly with the perfect amount of spices. My son loved his chicken chops and was shocked with the quantity. The baklava was super gooey and packed full with pistachios. The chocolate baklava was a nice addition too. I'm hoping they will add Cherry juice to their menu. Overall delicious and definitely coming back the next time we are in the area!

I found this place several months ago and went several times with friends. Their Turkish breakfast is to die for! Comes with a huge assortment of marmalade, cheeses, tomatoes, breads etc. as well as menemen (an egg scramble). Also comes with fruits. The Adana kebap and pide I also higher recommend! Everything is delicious and service and atmosphere is great! The staff are so friendly! It's one of my favorite spots in Chicago!

AMG really is hidden gem! The food was amazing. There are a lot of vegetarian options as well! Hands down one of my favorites so far! The service was pretty good and the ambiance was really open and welcoming! Give AMG a try for good food!

Excellent!! We went here to celebrate our daughters birthday and the experience was awesome. Staff is very helpful and ever smiling. Food is great, we ordered the family meal special for 4. It comes with tea, salad, soup, appetizer and mail entree. And their very special bakhlawa!! Highly recommend it. We will come again

Mediterranean Meze - very flavorful blend of 22 ingredients according to our waiter. This dish was truly unique. 5/5 Grilled Halloumi Meze - delicious cheese with olives and garlic bread. 4/5 Stuffed Eggplant - savory and creamy dish which actually might be even better served hot. 5/5 Calamari Meze - Excellent and tender. Not chewy at all which was nice. There were a ton of olives which I didn't think complimented the calamari. Overall, still 5/5. Mushroom Tava - mushrooms were cooked perfectly and were delicious. One of my favorite dishes of the night. 5/5 Stuffed Mushrooms - this dish fell flat on flavor and had more of the typical mushroom texture. 3/5 The Hunkar entrée initially was extremely salty. I mentioned this to the waiter and they remade it, which turned out great, so I'm hoping the salty dish was a one-off. 5/5 Our waiter was very friendly and attentive throughout. The restaurant itself is also casual upscale, so nice for most occasions. Avaspi exceeds expectations and I highly recommend this excellent Mediterranean restaurant.

After 20 mins and us asking food runners 3 times to get us a waiter we finally got assistance. We ordered the meze platter to start and very clearly stated, no nuts. The waiter said "we only use walnuts", we responded, no nuts. The food arrived and 2 of the 4 dishes had nuts on them, when I pointed it out to the waiter, he said "they're only on the top"! It was as if he was trying to be funny? Or sarcastic? Anyway, decent food, poor service.

It's an incredibly popular Turkish sandwich, loved and adored in the city of Berlin, Germany of all places. Our son, visiting us here in Chicago (from New York) was taunting the virtues of this rather large and tasty sandwich and of course, the city of Chicago has a restaurant making this; just right up the street. Döner 97 on Clark Street adjacent to Lincoln Park is serving up this delicious, sloppy (in a good way) sandwich with all of the fixings. I had their Combination Döner Sandwich a combination of both beef / lamb and chicken kebab sandwich with tender, seasoned meat, fresh veggies, and flavorful sauces in warm flatbread. I really liked it. We also bought a Chicken Döner Sandwich with delicious chicken döner kebab sandwich: tender, seasoned chicken, fresh veggies, and flavorful sauces in warm flatbread. Also very good. These Döner sandwiches are huge like a massive Mexican burrito, messy like a sloppy Joe sandwich, but fun like French Fondue. Döner 97 was a first for me and I was pleasantly surprised!

We shared the Oda Grill Combo and Karniyarik/Moussaka. Both were outstanding and seasoned just right. I ordered a cocktail (Drop it Like It's Hot) and that too was refreshingly tasty for a warm summer evening. Ambiance is really cute and they have an outdoor patio. Our server was kind, attentive and helped me make a decision on dinner and dessert when I was torn between a few choices. They let us hang around after dinner and they didn't rush us out which was nice too. We had the option to dine in or out but we chose to stay inside because of the humidity and frankly, we just love our air-conditioning. Granted if the weather is favorable, it's a nice space for alfresco dining. Parking is generally street only since they lack a parking lot.
