It's worth driving almost 9 miles down Ozello Trail to get to this restaurant! The place is a lot bigger than what you'd expect. It had a rather large bar area, but no TVs. You basically look into the kitchen when you sit at the bar. We made reservations for 6:30 and the place was hopping. My friends and I started with their fish dip, which was very creamy and fresh. They also gave us a complimentary order of the Fishnet Onion appetizer, which is thin onion rings. That was also very tasty and crispy. Two of us ordered a cup of their clam chowder. It had a bit of a kick to it and was very delicious. The oyster crackers were stale though. Both of my friends ordered the Grilled Crab Cakes, which I tried, and it was slightly crispy on the outside but moist on the inside. The order came with 3 cakes. Very good indeed. One of the orders came with sweet potato fries that were soggy. She didn't eat them, but our server Alex noticed and took them off her bill. I ordered the Fried Oysters with a baked potato. The oysters were fried perfectly and very tasty. All of our meals came with hush puppies, cole slaw and one side. I also ordered a Gin Cucumber drink that was prepared just right. Crabs, crabs, crabs! What can I say about Pecks! We got there after 6:00 and were surprised to see the parking lot so full. Of course who can resist a restaurant nestled on the water? Fernando was our server and he was absolutely wonderful. Dave got the Craft IPA and Fernando brought us fish net onions and dipping sauce. They are like delicious wisps of onion rings. So we ordered 12 blue claw crabs, cooked and cleaned in a garlic and oil sauce. We were surprised that they were available. We usually call before we come and they hold some for us. They came with coleslaw, hush puppies and a side of large onion rings. ( Dave's choice of a side.). I ordered little neck clams steamed in olive oil and garlic, my favorite and we gobbled them up lol! The crabs were out of this world, juicy and so fresh. The sauce was light and not salty. My wife and I make it out to Crystal River for her orthodontist visits. For this visit, we resolved to seek out Peck's Old Port Cove for lunch. First of all, the drive out there can take some time, especially if you get stuck behind a driver who seemed to almost stop at every hairpin turn...not just slow down but crawl to almost a stop. There aren't a lot of spots where you can legally pass so we just had to hope they get off the road or take a turn before we get to our destination. As luck would have it, they turned right into Peck's Old Port Cove. Doh! Upon entering, we requested outdoor seating and the hostess gave us a couple of menus and two sets of silverware and instructed to head out and find a table we liked. We secured a table right by the water. After reading reviews and checking out the menu, my wife and I both ordered the almond crusted fish with lobster cream sauce and with fries, cole slaw and hush puppies. Service was a bit slow but we weren't in a hurry and the views and refreshing breeze more than made up for it. While waiting for our food, we were served some complimentary fried string onions to munch on. The fish was prepared well. Flaky white fish (which we were told was farm-raised swai, aka basa which Google indicated is related to catfish but didn't taste like it) in a nice almond breading and a sauce that perfectly complemented the fish. The cole slow and hush puppies were also good. My wife and I thought the portions were generous and we wouldn't be able to finish it...but we ended up part of the clean plate club as we ate all of it. We're so glad we made it out here...good food and good ambience. Lunch for 2 with tip came out to just over $46. We had a large group today (probably 30 people) and they handled us with excellent service!!! Everyone raved about how fresh and good their lunches were. I got the Seafood Alfredo (from the dinner menu) and it was FABULOUS!!! Chock-full of seafood. Perfectly cooked fettuccine. And great Alfredo sauce. Im a bit of an Alfredo sauce skeptic because I make a great one at one, but this was even better than mine! My garden salad had a house-made ranch dressing which I love that they didnt skimp on. We meet friends there for lunch yesterday. Awesome old time feel! The Hostess was super friendly and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was so nice and friendly. She was very attentive. We love this restaurant. We arrived on a Friday night about7:00. The restaurant was full and people waiting. We were put on the list . About a 20 minute wait +. We sat at the bar and watched the staff working so hard and organized. Every employee helped each other. Then we met Alisa. She had the greatest personality and was so entertaining. We got a table and were so happy to get Alisa as a server. Drinks were good. Our grouper almandine was huge. It was so delicious and cooked to perfection. It was a long & rainy & totally beautiful drive out to Peck's. It sits on the edge of scenic islands & water. We sat outside for lunch & had a very personable waitress. I ordered a blackened white fish with cole slaw & cheese grits. The fish was a little undercooked & I almost said something. It was borderline. The blackening spice really did not have any discernible flavor which surprised me. The slaw & grits however were very good. Overall I think this place is great for its location & setting. This place is definitely worth the winding drive out into the bay. When you finally make it out hernandez see 30 cars and just as many motorcycles, you know you are in fir a treat. I had the fish platter blackened, which was good and at a good price. The inside is well done and has a survival story for the hurricanes and 6 1/2 feet of water they encountered that is worth a listen. Overall the beachy ambiance is nicely done. Finally the service was great, attentive and friendly. We would definitely come again when visiting the manatees at 3 Sister Spring. read more

Service was ok but it took forever to get our food. We had a huge party and I know that's tough. I'd rather not do this but I KNOW this is exactly what you need to hear. For mains, we had the bay scallops sautéed in butter and lemon ($18.93), perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor, served with hush puppies and slaw. Finally came back. We had a big group and were able to order a ton of different items. Apps were fried pickles and fried Gator but also enjoyed the onion strings they gave out. Nothing special, but the price was high for mediocre cuisine. The service was poor. Our waiter, after taking our order, was never seen again until the ck arrived. Wow! We rediscovered this local gem tonight! From the complimentary onion appetizer to the fresh seafood entrees, hush puppies and even the coleslaw...everything was outstanding. The real star of the show though was the clam chowder. I've eaten chowder in New England and Manhattan and none compares to the chowder that Peck's makes finished with drawn butter. It is crave-worthy and we'll be back in the near future for more! There was friendly and quick service and Old Florida charm added to the ambiance. Visiting Mom again but this time with my sister. Decided to take her for the car ride and for lunch here at Pecks. A beautiful day for a ride with a lite amount of fog. The atmosphere is nautical in theme with some beautiful wood worked benches in front of the bar. We were asked if we wanted inside or outside dining, we chose inside. Sat quickly , menus given, and utensils placed at each seat. Menu has not changed much from what I recall and this time ordered the half dozen Blue fin crabs with no seasoning. They offer Old Bay which I have an aversion to, Garlic and butter, and plain. Mom had the Crab cakes and my sister a broiled fish (forgot the name). Things came out in a timely manner and hot! They do a great job providing the tools needed for a crab feast, large extra bowl, lots of napkins, a cracker for the claws, and lemons. I ate 3 of the 6, gave one to my sister and took two home which heated up nicely the next day for an egg white crab and spinach omelette. Yum! The view is beautiful from the restaurant and its dock outside. I learned that Pecks is also a Blue Fin Crab farm! They harvest the crabs right outside! Can't get any fresher than that! We went to this restaurant on Valentines Day, which we knew of course was a busy day, but when we checked in, they told us it would be a 35-40 minute wait, which we thought was reasonable. Well 2 hours later we still weren't seated. They neglected to tell us that we could get a table outside by just grabbing one when a party left. Well we ended eating at the bar in seats that weren't comfortable and I ordered a blackened fillet of fish stuffed with crab meat which was disappointing as it was not blackened and was void of taste. I called to see if we needed a reservation for our anniversary on a Wednesday evening and Amber said not really but connected me to the hostess to be sure we wouldn't have a problem getting seated with a reservation. Reservation was for 5:45 and we were traveling from Ocala, about 1.5 away. I've been wanting to try Peck's out. The winding road to Peck's isn't too bad, it's like a nice drive on a country road. We were seated by the big picture window and Amber was our server. Was nice to put a face to the person I spoke on the phone with. Amber took our drink order(a beer and Diet Coke) and let us look over the menu for a few. I went with a local beer made by a winery, can't remember the name and it was very good. We ordered gator bites for an appetizer, very good and cooked wonderfully, not chewy at all. We also had a complimentary onion straws, very tasty also. For our entrees, my husband had the Fisherman's platter with onion rings and hush puppies and I went with the Coconut Shrimp dinner with slaw and cheese grits. Both entrees were delicious. We shared the Key lime pie which they make, very good twang (didn't get a pic before we dung in). The time frame we were there they weren't busy which was great and we went out on the pier to just sip on our drinks and look at the scenery. Inside the scenery is very cozy. Clean restrooms and very friendly staff. This is a jewel tucked away on an amazing motorcycle-rider road, right on the water. There's a bar section with tables and a larger back dining room. There's a large outdoor covered waterfront dining area with another bar. Service was great and the food was so delicious! I had coconut shrimp that was served with raspberry Melba sauce. It came with 2 hush puppies and delicious coleslaw and a side. I went with the fries and they were great. Large portions that was hard to finish. If you are looking for quality food at a good price avoid this place! Im the kind of person that just pays the bill, tips the server and makes a mental note. For whatever reason I decided to give this place a second chance after my first time there for a few beers and an appetizer cost us 80 dollars. 6 + bucks for a small plastic cup of draft domestic beer that equals about a half pint. Freezer burned appetizer that was sent back twice. On both visits the tables were sticky and greasy, chairs covered in food. Apparently "MARKET PRICE" at this place is 30% higher than anywhere in the state of Florida. My wife and I ordered a Grouper sandwich and a Grouper with Mango Chutney. Both plates were literally IDENTICAL. My wife's grouper came with a bun and mine came with 2 grape size pieces of mango and a small sliver of onion. Her sandwich was 28 dollars and my plate was 39 dollars. . .LOL. . .? For the same exact 2"x5" piece of undercooked freezer burnt grouper that was not big enough for a half of a bun at best. Our Appetizer (Mushroom Caps) came frozen in the middle and were by far the worst example of stuffed mushroom caps I have ever tasted (16 dollars!!!). ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. After chewing a few bites of chewy undercooked frozen grouper and some french fries that tasted like they were straight out of the dollar store freezer section, washed down with my 1.5 pints of beer (3 beers each at 6+ each) I get a bill for 124.00. And they add a 3% fee for credit card purchases AT A RESTAURANT! Microwave meals at inflated fine dining prices. Absolutely SHAMEFUL. Price gouging for a view of mangroves and mosquitos...Never again! read more

It was a hot summer eve in Florida (98 degrees) so instead of dining on the spacious deck, we opted for AC on the inside! A lot of friendly waitstaff took care of a busy Saturday night crowd. We weee seated right away and looked over the menu and the specials. They had your typical seafood items, but the only real downside to this place was the lack of not fried items. They a shrimp cocktail, grilled scallops and a special of mahi mahi. Some other fresh fish items would have been a nice added feature. I've eaten here many times. Last night was a serious disappointment. I ordered the combo plate. It's a $29 entrée. The serving was so skimpy it, at best, was basically a half portion. For $29 I would expect to have enough to take home. There wasn't enough for half a meal. It was good and prepared well but the skimping game just doesn't cut it. One more strike and they're out. My husband, father-in-law and I went to Peck's for the first time on Monday after fishing nearby and it was PHENOMENAL! The restaurant has a beautiful waterfront view, cute décor, fast service, and delicious food. They also have a crab farm, crab shaped tables, and a perfect photo spot on the end of their dock. I started out with a Peached Whale and my husband got the Rum Punch, both drinks were delicious and fruity. We had the grouper bites with buffalo and ranch sauce. The grouper was perfectly crispy and flavorful. My husband got the fried shrimp platter with French fries. I ordered the stuffed fish fillet with coleslaw, French fries, and ranch.
