A Crystal River staple! This is the place to go for all kinds of seafood. They have seasonal options, and fresh daily catches. [CASH ONLY - ATM onsite] We came after a day out on the water - they did have a wait, but we got our party of 4 in within about 30 - 40 min around 6pm. They have quite a few options, so be ready to peruse the menu while you wait. Once seated, we ordered drinks & apps. App came out quick but with the delay between ordering drinks & ordering food, we ended up staying for quite a while. Mermaid mojito drink was great, apps varied, and dinners were quite a span. We got homey shrimp (amazing, Alfredo pasta (solid), seafood Mac & cheese (great & a veggie-packed spin) and a crab entree (slightly cold at the ends even right as it came out). Their desserts looked very good but we were too full to try it this time.

Stick to what they're best - the boiled options! My husband had the shrimp & grits, it was rather bland and just ok. The snow crab legs were incredible! Perfectly cooked and absolutely delightful. I'm not quite sure what the potato salad is but it wasn't very good at all. The service was ok, food came pretty quickly but the waitress rarely checked in on us or came around unless she was bringing food.

Make sure you stop at an ATM and make your way to The Crab Plant! We split some delicious hot and savory hushpuppies and made our own simple Low Country Boil by ordering a pound of steamed shrimp and added the corn, potatoes, and sausage for $11 more. The seasoning and sharing was perfect! Since I'm doing Dry Jan I was happy they had a couple of NA beers to choose from. Our table was right by the water, the tables are large and sturdy and not too close to your neighbor, and the staff was so very friendly in the hopping place! A must visit of you like authenticity, fresh seafood, and good vibes!

Found this place on yelp while searching for Crystal River spots to eat. I really wanted Stone Crabs and the other place our Manatee Tour suggested I didn't see them on the menu there. We had to wait a bit but we got bar seating pretty quickly for the amount of people there. I got stone crabs and chowder and my boyfriend I think got shrimp and grits. Stone crabs were delicious and fresh and the chowder was chunky and flavorful. Had a bite of the grits and they were pretty good. Surprised they didn't have key lime pie but we did get a slice of coconut cream which was tasty. Would def come back if I was in the area again.

Finally made it here. Came for lunch. Between 2 of us ordered clam chowder and crab chowder, blackened groups sandwich with potato salad and snapper Reuben but subbed coleslaw for sauerkraut. Inside is open and a big loud. When you walk into the restaurant you get a big whiff of fish. If someone I. Your party is not a seafood lover I think they'd be turned off. We sat outside which is across the parking lot next to the water. Waitresses did come out to serve us. Seeing the water is nice but you are right off the parking lot so cars are parking right near you. Solid place to eat.

EVERYTHING was amazing! Highly recommend this no frills restaurant for great food and reasonable prices!!

Unknown shrimp dish at the Crab Plant.

This was supposed to be the Shrimp Alfredo. Clearly this greasy mess, that ended up making me sick to my stomach, was not shrimp Alfredo. The only reason I did not send it back was because my daughter was eating hers and I did not want to make her wait while I tried to track down our waitress to send this back and order a different dish. Also our waitress never returned to the table after we received our food. This was probably the Shrimp Linguine which was actually a scampi. That scampi dish was a couple dollars cheaper. I talked to the manager and asked him to change the charge to the dish I know I received. My daughter even showed him a picture of an Alfredo dish from their restaurant's menu on her phone, which had the characteristic white sauce. The manager, without apology, refused to admit that this was NOT Alfredo insisting that the cream and the butter had separated. Yeah what cream. My daughter and I had been there two years ago and ordered the Shrimp Alfredo. It was so good, we returned the next night and ordered the same dish. This was not it. I heard from the woman at our hotel that the Crab Plant has gone down hill and that she no longer recommends it. Maybe they do better with their steamed choices. We were treated rudely and our service stunk. I would not return.

I love this restaurant. Everything is fresh and reasonably priced. They are very busy. The staff is always friendly. They have mixed drinks , beer and wine. They had the whole yellow tail snapper . I loved it. It was cooked perfectly. Lightly breaded and delicious. My wife got the blackened snapper. We sat by the window overlooking the bay.

Famous snow crabs in Medium, Large, Jumbo (Jimmy's), and Colossal! Loved them cold with white mustard!

Fast and friendly service, beautiful views, and delicious seafood! What more could you want!

This place is just a giant trap! You walk in, lured by the bait, next thing you know, you're hooked. Well, I'll be damned. Waving 'Sup? to folks passing by on their Stand Up Paddle boards. Watchin the tourists covered in oil. (Thanks, Jimmy) Eating seafood that's glee food. Blackened Grouper sandwich here. Soft Shell Crab sammich there. Our trapper Mary took great delight in ensuring we were solidly hooked! Oh, she's good. Real good. Fortunately for us, today must've been 'Catch and release day'. We found our way back into the 19 stream and set a course for home. I don't know how we escaped this trap! I am worried, however. I have a nagging feeling we're going to fall prey to that trap again. Real soon.

Some of the best shrimp and cheese grits I've had. Along with shrimp tacos we will be back !!!

I got the Seafood Alfredo (from the dinner menu) and it was FABULOUS!!! Chock-full of seafood. Perfectly cooked fettuccine. And great Alfredo sauce. Im a bit of an Alfredo sauce skeptic because I make a great one at one, but this was even better than mine! My garden salad had a house-made ranch dressing which I love that they didnt skimp on. AND they bring their fabulous onion straws out to nibble on beforehand! Kudos Peck's! Exceeded my expectations. P.S. As I was leaving a pod of 5 dolphins were feeding in the inlet among the mangroves. So great atmosphere too! P.S.S. The drive down Ozello Rd to get here in very old Florida scenic and lush vegetation too!

First of all, the drive out there can take some time, especially if you get stuck behind a driver who seemed to almost stop at every hairpin turn...not just slow down but crawl to almost a stop. There aren't a lot of spots where you can legally pass so we just had to hope they get off the road or take a turn before we get to our destination. As luck would have it, they turned right into Peck's Old Port Cove. Doh! Upon entering, we requested outdoor seating and the hostess gave us a couple of menus and two sets of silverware and instructed to head out and find a table we liked. We secured a table right by the water. After reading reviews and checking out the menu, my wife and I both ordered the almond crusted fish with lobster cream sauce and with fries, cole slaw and hush puppies. Service was a bit slow but we weren't in a hurry and the views and refreshing breeze more than made up for it. While waiting for our food, we were served some complimentary fried string onions to munch on. The fish was prepared well. Flaky white fish (which we were told was farm-raised swai, aka basa which Google indicated is related to catfish but didn't taste like it) in a nice almond breading and a sauce that perfectly complemented the fish. The cole slow and hush puppies were also good. My wife and I thought the portions were generous and we wouldn't be able to finish it...but we ended up part of the clean plate club as we ate all of it. We're so glad we made it out here...good food and good ambience. Lunch for 2 with tip came out to just over $46. NOTE: We drove out to Ozello Community Park after reading that it's a worthwhile visit. Nope! Save yourself the time...nothing to see there.

Unfortunately, the service we received was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Before arriving at 4pm, I called and was told the wait would be about 20 minutes. We showed up 30 minutes later, the restaurant didn't look busy, and there were plenty of open seats at the bar, so we sat down. The bartender with pigtails completely ignored us. Eventually, a second bartender helped us. We were very low-maintenance customers we started with waters and took time to look at the menu. Service was slow from the beginning. When the bartender finally returned to take our order, she cut me off mid-question to help someone else. We ordered the Low Country Boil ($60) and a side salad as an appetizer. I ordered a Tito's lemon drop shot, and my friend ordered one of their canned vodka cocktails with a glass. The canned cocktail arrived without a glass, and my shot never came. Meanwhile, new customers sat down next to us and were immediately greeted, given menus, and served drinks before I ever received mine. My lemon drop shot finally arrived about 15 minutes later with the explanation that it took time to "mull the lemon." Our food arrived without the salad, crawfish, or sausage that were supposed to come with the boil. Since getting the bartender's attention had already been difficult, we started eating because we were starving after paddleboarding. Halfway through the meal, the bartender brought the salad and said it was supposed to come out earlier and joked that she would eat it if we didn't want it which felt unprofessional, especially since it was ordered as an appetizer. To make matters more confusing, another table had received the crawfish that were supposed to be part of our order and had to give them to us themselves. The bartender never checked on us, never refilled drinks, and never followed up about the missing items until we flagged her down. When the bill came, she told us she removed my friend's canned vodka cocktail and discounted my Tito's lemon drop shot from $14 down to $7. If she did indeed charged me half price for that lemon drop shot its was because it took her so long to get it to me (almost like she forgot the order). I find it hard to believe that a lemondrop shot is $14 but an oyster shooter with Titos is $8.I politely asked if anything could be done to account for the incomplete meal and inattentive service. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, the bartender became argumentative and raised her voice, saying she was short-staffed and working alone, which was clearly not the case. Her way of resolving the issue was to place another order of what we got which made NO sense at this point. As my friend was signing the checks, the bartender told her she has five kids. If that's the case, then she should be more than capable of handling the volume we experienced and the low-maintenance customers we were. In that moment, the interaction felt immature and unprofessional, especially after the level of service we had just received. I'm not someone who skips tipping I usually tip well but since nothing was done to make the situation right, I chose not to leave one. We left and went down the road for drinks, where the bartenders took pride in their service and they received the 30% tip I originally intended to leave here. Thank you for an unforgettable Valentine's Day experience.

This used to be one of our Favorite Seafood restaurants. Not anymore…read more Let me be very clear. The food has changed completely from the original recipes from the original owners. It's not the same quality or tastes. Let us go down memory lane here & revisit our last conversation, we had with you all there, last visits. You told us the story that the new owner was so dedicated to keeping the recipes the same, that they offered the one person a higher salary to stay on, because they were the ONLY person that knew how to make the original Clam Chowder, that everyone loved. You told us to our faces, my husband & I, that he was the only person that knew how to make the Clam chowder & you KNEW that you all had a LOYAL CUSTOMER BASE & FOLLOWING that loved your food & you were NEVER going to change the recipes. You told us you offered the man a bigger salary to stay on. You assured us the new owner wasn't going to change the recipes, just give the place "a makeover." We drove hours to get to Dan's on Saturday. We get there & there is a new sign out-front, its super cute, the building is painted very cute, looks like a super cute little Maine lobster shack in New England somewhere you would visit on Vacation. Now, the Local Florida vibes & charm, all gone. Asked for Tabasco & you don't even have any. In a southern Seafood Restaurant. Insanity. We order our usual Haddock sammy's, fries & Fried oyster app. The fried oysters batter is different, it's sweet. The two sauces on the side are different. Tastes like bottled Miracle whip & sweet cocktail sauce with no horseradish at all. Both sauces are HORRIBLE. The haddock batter is different. It's sweet & doesn't stick to the fish. (see photos) It's just falling apart all over the place b4 we could even attempt to eat them. Both our Sammy's a complete sweet mess, and not in a good way. The fries are some kind of GIANT hand cut fries that are undercooked. The bun, is a cheap bun like from walmart. No side of cole slaw nothing. I'm also not sure why your Haddock sandwiches and fries are $25 bucks each, double the price as "Gaby's" in Clearwater, Florida. I have posted many photos of their Haddock Sandwich's also, and not only are theirs half the price at $12.99, theirs are twice as big served on a cornmeal crusted bun WITH cole slaw. Math doesn't add up. Your haddock is overpriced and/or you cannot do simple math. OuiOui. Now that you have wrecked the food we will be eating The Haddock sammy's at Gaby's in Clearwater, Florida from now on. I have now taken you off all my Favorite restaurants lists & added "Dan's" to the "Worst food of our lives lists." Congratulations on your gentrification of what used to be one of our favorite seafood restaurants. You wrecked it, the food sucks. But, great paint job, it looks so cute. Will never return.
