We were one of two double seater tables that were reserved, it was really cute honestly. It has been a while since I got duck confit, and I loved the luxuries of tasting it without the price tag tonight. Only $8 to add some on to either the caesar or house salad options. Husband got the sweet potato fries and blackened flounder sandwich which were all tasty as well. Fries were shoestring style and sprinkled with brown sugar - yum. PSA to DEFINITELY try the cookies, my hubby is a chocolate chip connoisseur and said these were top of the list now. So warm and fresh. The fried pie was delicious as well and I enjoyed my cocktail selection. Great date night selection!

I opted for the farro bowl, but was hesitant about the beets--cause, well, beets are not my jam-- but the kitchen put them on the side for me! (Thank you!!). I added braised pork. The bowl is a very creative and i loved the concept but the execution just need a bit of tweaking. The bowl was just too greasy. And I don't think the grease was only coming from the pork. The farro was about 1 or 2 minutes overcooked for my taste; however, I would try it again maybe with just the egg. I hear great things about thw smash burger so I'll come back and try my luck. Wednesdays are half off bottles of wine!!

The servers were really nice and friendly. The butternut squash soup was really nice thick and creamy. I felt like the portions were just right and I did not feel like anything was too greasy. It is a great place to eat with your friend or significant other. I thought it was a very cool vibe and matched the name of the restaurant! Because this is located downtown, there is street parking, or there is a parking garage down the road where you can park.

Parking was a bit difficult on this day, but that's to be expected with the holiday shopping traffic. I love Brick & Tin. It's upscale Panera in the best way. Their brisket sandwich and soups are absolutely incredible. I always recommend this place if you're looking for a nice, fast-casual lunch. I got the farro half salad and added chicken. This was the perfect lunch. Great flavor, squash, some greens, farro to keep you full (I believe this is an ancient grain), I feel like I checked every box on being healthy for the day. The dressing is delicious and not overdone. They've got bar seating, two tables for larger groups, and then booth seating along the walls. It's a farm-to-table vibe in here, and the food certainly matches. I've never been disappointed by anything from here. I need to try out their downtown location next!

The ambiance was great with lights on the tables, low lighting overall and plenty of room between the tables. We definitely felt like we were in our own little corner, could hear each other talk, and we did not have to listen to others conversations. I really enjoyed the mocktail I ordered. It was called the Sinaloa Sunrise and was much more than a few juices poured together. It was full of flavor, and I actually said "Wow" out loud as I drank it. It included pineapple juice, lime juice, habanero brown sugar syrup, sage syrup, and grenadine sink. Before I ordered it, i I wondered about the sage syrup, but it really added to the taste. For an appetizer, we shared the Wagyu Beef Carpaccio. Our friend suggested it and he was right on the money. It consisted of fresh horseradish, truffle aioli, fingerling potatoes, pickled mustard seeds, arugula, and caciotta al tartufo. It was melt in your mouth goodness. For my entree, I went with the 8 oz Filet. It was cooked perfectly, and we shared a side order of the Brussels Sprouts Calaprese. They were absolutely delicious and plenty for the three of us. This wonderful evening ended with dessert. I went with the Bananas Foster Cheesecake. It was good, but it needed more caramel. It included brown butter caramel, pistachio banana crumble, spiced ice cream, white chocolate crèmeux and white chocolate pearls. Was this an expensive dinner? Yes, but it was well worth it. You definitely are paying for a whole experience including unique flavors in every bite and wonderful service. Our server, Matt, made the night perfect.

We were greeted with the warmest hospitality you can imagine and our waiter, Chris, was so kind and knowledgeable. He thoroughly went over the menu and Emma, his assistant, didn't let our glass get less than half full all night. They were both extremely attentive and personable as well. Chef Kyle greeted us and made sure we were enjoying everything and taken care of. Each dish reflects the passion for his craft. He described a few dishes perfectly - one being the waygu croquettes. He said they were like French onion soup in a ball and deep fried. We enjoyed every bite and I told Chris that we'd take 27 more of them We also got beer carpaccio - compliments of the chef. This was my first time trying it anywhere and I was pleasantly surprised. The truffle aioli, cheese, and arugula atop thinly sliced beef that reminded me of prosciutto. Each bite was a little different - would get again. The focaccia is not to be skipped either. Warm, soft, fluffy, with flaky salt and olive oil. Done. The Caesar salad is one like we've never had before. The cured lemon set this over the top and added a tangy yet sweet component. I'm not usually one to rave about a Caesar salad but this was top tier. My spicy lobster vodka pasta was phenomenal and just the right amount of spicy. Extremely flavorful and had big chunks of lobster. The bread crumbs on top added the perfect crunch. David loved his steak and his only complaint was that he needed a serrated knife to cut it with. I heard a lady at a table beside us say the same thing Not to say that it wasn't cooked perfectly - because it was. We loved the Gouda fries and the crispy brussel sprouts were probably my favorite brussels I've ever had (!!!). The affogato was heavenly (never met one I didn't like). And they included a cannoli with a birthday candle. If you can't tell, we had an exquisite evening here. It met and exceeded all expectations. I can see us dining here for many many celebrations to come.

Bangkok sounded new and not out of the way so here we are. Steamed Dumplings were awesome, tender, meaty and the dipping sauce was not too sweet. Stir-Fried Chicken Cashew was good even if someone didn't like the green bell peppers. I really loved the next day leftovers. Beef Curry was easily consumed, spicy and delicious. I will definitely do it again. Service was good. Definitely get a booth, we've experienced the metal chairs & stools at other locations and they are the worst. I appreciate they used their money wisely. My backside appreciated the booth.

With plenty of parking, BSF's decor is comfortable yet contemporary with little hints of Thailand. There are unique "pipe" shaped lights, tall tables with stools, regular tables and booths that line an entire wall. I did not enjoy table service as I walked in to place my to go order. Although they had a steady stream of pickup orders, they prepared my to go order pretty quickly. Their 2 page menu includes a comprehensive list of thai and asian items. Apps include satay, papaya salad and shrimp gyoza. There's Soups, Warm Salads and Fish selections. There are 7 curry dishes each with the option of adding chicken, tofu, beef or shrimp. There are just as many Rice as well as Noodle options as well as Stir Fry. The variety seems endless for everyone's picky taste buds. Finally there's a dessert list as well. Calamari: Should be ordered in-house. By the time we sampled it at home, it had "toughened" and was a bit chewy. The accompanying dipping sauce was good. Chicken Satay: Chicken marinated with garlic herb, grilled on a stick and served with a cucumber salad and peanut sauce. Good flavor and delicious peanut sauce. Pad Khee Mao: The wide rice noodles stir fried in a sweet basil sauce with chili paste and carrots, onion, tomatoes and green beans was delicious! Yom Yom Yom. Neua Nam Tok: A warm salad with grilled beef in thai chili sauce with red onions, cilantro and tomato. Nice flavor and spicy. Tom Kha: Hot soup with sliced mushrooms, onions and tomato in a coconut broth. With the chicken pieces... delicious! Khao Kai Jeow: A thai style omelette mixed with minced chicken, scallions, chopped onions, garnished with cilantro. Never tried this before but was surprisingly tasty. Served with white rice. Khao Pad: Thai fried rice with egg, tomato, onion, peas, carrots and garnished with cucumber. Delicious. BSF is a welcome addition to the list of thai restaurants in the Birmingham area. The dishes that we have sampled have been on par or above and we look forward to dining in.
