Wow, I'm a huge fan of Capp's Pizzeria even though I live maybe 40 minutes away? As a pizza lover, I certainly appreciate their Neapolitan-style pies along with all their home-made pastas. I've tried out their margherita, Bee Bomb (soppressata, hot honey) along with their weekend special, clam pie! It is REALLY hard to find clam pies this far south so I consider it to be a special treat. And while I'm usually really full and over-order at Capp's, even their desserts are great and home-made. I did a multi-layer honey cake which was complex and divine. Service has always been solid here and prices very reasonable for what you get. I scratch my head on a lot of the negative reviews here because they are way off the mark. It's rare when you get such a great little Italian restaurant in the Triangle making everything in-house and at decent prices. It's a hidden gem in my opinion and worth even the drive from Raleigh.

Great Neapolitan pizza with cool options. Real welcoming environment. Fun place! Definitely one to check out.

They add a ridiculous fee to the takeout order. Maybe the dumbest and most greedy act I have experienced with a restaurant.

The person I was with ordered the same, with vodka, and she felt the caffeine. My dining partner and I began with the Wood Grilled Pear salad (small) and it was very tasty. I would order again. Meanwhile, bread was delivered to the table. The bread had no taste and was disappointing. Our entrees were lasagna and lemon linguine (with scallops & shrimp). Both were tasty. The star of the meal was the double chocolate geleto!! It was absolutely delicious and one order was enough for 2. It was served with a lemon biscotti that was the best biscotti I've ever tasted. The ambiance was not my favorite, however just personal preference. There are a few small parking lots nearby that are metered. There is 1 handicap parking space beside the restaurant (also metered). The service was solid.

Both were very happy with their selections. The atmosphere was very warm and inviting. Next time I'll definitely grab a seat at the bar so I can catch all the action! I'll definitely be back!

The vibes are intimate and cozy, and I'm so glad I made a reservation because even on a Tuesday night, the whole place was full, and people kept coming throughout the evening. There's a few smaller tables and a bar overlooking an open kitchen. Bonus vibes points for the fresh flowers on the tables. The menu is Italian with a small, focused menu. We started with the focaccia bread, and wow, it was pillowy and melt in your mouth good. The butter that accompanies it was a warm hug that brought the whole thing together. Otherwise, we ordered a few other dishes. The waitress was really kind and helped us ensure that everything we got was vegetarian. We ordered the linguini vegetarian, rigatoni, and the gnocchi. All were very flavorful and rich tasting.

We started with the beets, focaccia with whipped herb butter and a glass of wine--simple, fresh, and a great way to start the meal (the focaccia is a must order and the herb butter was worth the $1 upgrade). For our entrées, he had the mafalde and I ordered the ricotta gnudi. Both dishes were delicious. We couldn't skip dessert. We shared the caramel bread pudding with ice cream and the olive oil cake with citrus crème anglaise. The olive oil cake is a must order. Because of the restaurant's small size, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation if you plan to dine in.

The restaurant sits on Franklin Street, right in the heart of Chapel Hill near UNC. It's a lively, walkable area filled with shops and restaurants. Parking can be a little tricky--we circled a few blocks before finding a gravel lot nearby (free after 6 p.m. and all day Sunday). Inside, the place had an old-school, authentic feel. The staff spoke Italian, which added to the vibe, and the red curved booths reminded me of classic pizza joints from my childhood. The menu is posted on the wall behind the counter, and you order before sitting down. We also noticed their most recent health score was a 99, which was reassuring. My wife ordered the chef's salad, and I went with the meat stromboli. Her salad was fresh, colorful, and much better than the iceberg lettuce you often get. She enjoyed it so much that she finished before my stromboli was ready. When mine came out, it was served on a pizza pan with a side of sauce--it looked and tasted great. It was also clear they do a strong takeout business, with lots of people picking up orders and the phone constantly ringing. Overall, the food was solid, the atmosphere memorable, and it felt like a local institution that's earned its recognition. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Chapel Hill.

The wine pairings were also super delicious. I'm not much of a red wine drinker and I appreciated the lightness of the reds that were chosen. The woman from the wine shop did a phenomenal job of explaining the history and significance of each wine. It was a lovely experience. The restaurant staff were so friendly and kind as well.
