The portions of Italian cold cuts were fine but the cheap tasteless roll was too much to overcome. What a nice little pizza joint. I was craving some fast and simple pizza. This place delivers literally. I was pleased with the specialty Brooklyn style square pizza slices that I ordered and it felt like I stepped into a Time Machine. The last time I was in Cape May was for USCG basic training and what did they have on their smart TV? Usher's 2004 hit "Yeah!" featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris and then Mario & Scott Storch's "Let Me Love You". It felt like divine intervention as soon as I entered. I'm from out of town and decided to give this place a try. I ordered the Italian Hoagie, and according to the description on the menu behind the counter, it includes the following: "Genoa salami, Italian peppered ham, pepperoni, capicola ham, provolone, lettuce, tomatoes onions, olive oil, vinegar and oregano". I confirmed 3X that I would like mayonnaise instead of the olive oil and vinegar. While the olive oil and vinegar were not in the sandwich, the mayonnaise I requested was not present. Even more disappointing was that there was 1 slice each(all paper thin) of genoa salami, Italian peppered ham, pepperoni and capicola ham. 4 paper thin slices of meat in a hoagie is very disappointing. I definitely should have gotten a sandwich next door at Wawa instead. read more

The pizzas are good. The cheese steaks are very good. The only reason I'm giving them a one star is that they charge 3% extra anytime you use a credit card. So when you look at the menu, make sure you add an extra 3% to whatever you're buying. read more

We have had a couple of good experiences with Cappy's recently. This is a no frills take out type of pizzeria that is conveniently located in between Wawa and a laundromat. We throughly enjoyed the buffalo chicken pizza we ordered last time that we were there. We were not as impressed with the meatball sub. The staff is always so friendly and nice I am sure that we will continue to go back and cycle through the menu to figure out what all of our favorite things are. To start on a high note the service was good. People were friendly and everything was done in a timely manner. The place was sort of clean. On a lower note, the burgers almost tasted like fake meat and the lemonade from the soda fountain had an old taste to it. Everyone working seemed a little preoccupied except the kid spinning the pizza dough and manning the oven. Love, peace and pizza grease is all I have to say. Cappy's have become one of my favorite places to stop in for a meal when I'm in Cape May. I'm usually there for a breakfast sandwich. For early in the morning, the guys who work there are always in a good mood. Since I get up early in the morning, I don't always want breakfast at 9... At Capoy's, that's no problem. The pizzas are already in the oven and ready for whatever slice you'd like. The BBQ chicken pizza and the pepperoni and sausage slices are my usual slices that I substitute for breakfast... This pizzeria is the one place in Cape May that you will be happy that you stopped in when for a quick bite to eat. If you're lucky, the owners father will be there visiting. A 80something year old man who is a pleasure to sit and talk to for awhile. read more

Great place to stop in an grab a quick slice when heading in or out of Cape May. Love that they usually have a good assortment of slices ready to go on the counter. When they don't, they'll throw some toppings on a slice for you. Everyone's been friendly when we've been in. Prices are so-so, but that's Cape May and the pizza business these days for ya. Some slices I've enjoyed are the tomato basil, buffalo chicken, and just plain old sausage, because they're putting real sausage, not those weird rabbit food looking pellet things. The crust is solid, but I really love the taste of the dough and whatever flavor it's getting from the oven. They also do cheesesteaks and other sandwiches, but I haven't gotten there yet, although they seem popular. Maybe it's because I drive past this place any time I go to or from my family's place, but I like this pizza and think others should check it out. read more

I'm from north jersey and we came here twice while on vacation. Honestly the food was average, the cheese steak was just plain, had a somewhat stale roll and didn't have a cheese whiz option. The pizza was a little odd for my taste, the dough is sort of like poppa johns, and the sauce is different from I'm used to. I might be more of a pizza snob being closer to NY but there is an expectation for thin crust jersey shore pizza that just isn't met for me here. The pros are they make the food fairly fast. I really liked the pizza. Got here right before closing and I ordered a few slices, they made a whole pizza for us instead, because it was cheaper and fresher that way. The two guys working inside were really friendly and did an awesome job. It's a good pizza place with a decent amount of seating for a pizza place. Pizza can range between average to outstanding depending on the day and the 2 slices and a soda for $6 is worth all 6 bucks as it's never bad, but the quality can change daily Cheesesteaks and chicken cheesesteaks are very good, (personal favorite is the bbq chicken with provolone) so are the meatballs and pretty much everything is very good. Wings were decent I actually eat here quite a bit, especially in the winter. And having a Wawa right next door draws a lot of people for lunch. It's a good place read more

Since I moved to Cape May about a year ago, Cappy's has been my go to take out place. Best pizza on the island, in my opinion. Cheesesteak is delicious. Salads rock. Customer service is the absolute best. As a busy photographer, I often do not have time to cook or even head out to grab a bite. The staff at Cappy's has taken such amazing care of me. I will agree with others that their hours can be confusing and disappointing, but I've learned to order early and deal. You really can't go by the posted hours. Still ranking at 4 stars for a shore town pizza parlor. The large plain pie was good, especially the sauce they use. Again the buffalo chicken stromboli was a good choice. Crap, I love this place. Last year we were famished after a long day at the zoo, on the beach, and on a boat ride. We had stopped at the next door Wawa to change clothes earlier in the day and had seen this place, so we stopped by. First of all, the staff, especially the owners, are so unbelievably friendly. They made us feel so welcome, like we were old regulars. The pizza was good but the "Cappy fries" were outstanding. I've never had anything like them but I took home the leftovers and they held up well hours later heated up in a toaster oven. They are tossed in some garlic parmesean mixture, extremely garlicky - not great before a hot date but soo good. I was looking forward to revisiting this pizza shop during my entire vacation and they did not disappoint. The owners and staff were so amazing and friendly yet again. Their attitudes really make this place a standout from other pizza shops at the shore. If you are craving pizza in Cape May, stop by, and you will not be disappointed. read more

The pizza is pretty good. The staff is oddly rude though. I don't understand why, maybe they hate their jobs?? Another downside are their closing hours. Although it says 11pm here on Yelp, they NEVER stay open that late. They don't have any "official" hours posted anywhere. I guess they just close when they feel; that's usually between 8-9pm from my experience. The pizza has good flavor, but the pizza is not very consistent, I've been served undercooked, burnt and everything in between. We always open the box not knowing what to expect. It's become a joke in my family. But like I said the pizza has good flavor so we always go back due to the lack of good delivery out here. read more
