Date of Visit: August 1, 2025 This was my first stop when I got to Cape May and I wasn't disappointed. And I have to agree with Eddie 9, I checked the reviews and the ones that gave it a bad review must have got on YELP! just for that reason, they only have one review to their name. So sad. While taking a walk-a-bout I came upon this place and it is just across from the beach, great location. I did walk by first then stopped and looked in the window and saw their pizza by the slice selection. Had to go in. As I entered I could tell this was a top notch place. I checked out the line-up and decided on a square slice, don't see that too often in Florida. I got one with pepperoni and because of the size I only had one, perfect. With the thin slices I usually get two. One was enough. This must be the local favorite pizza joint cause after I ordered, it started to fill up. After receiving my slice, nice and hot, I could tell they use quality cheese and sauce. All melted nicely. Oh, after the first bite I was right. Pizza is mid. Tastes like raw dough. Also it boasts generous toppings but there was 6 tiny pepperoni on the whole slice. When I ordered wings and they got it wrong they made me bring it back in the rain and when I got the new wings they were overly crispy. I got the feeling I got someone else's messed up wing order. Pizza by the slice, and their slices are huge but very thin crust. I only got one slice. The Spinach. It was dotted with a light whipped ricotta cheese whip. I've never had anything quite like it. Someone told us that their slices were expensive? I spent $4 and tax on dinner. You don't need more than one slice here because they're so huge but thin crust, which is what I like. Yum! ABSOLUTELY horrible experience. Came from a day hot off the beach and was really craving a good Italian Hoagie. This should be a staple for ANY pizza place. Got the food back to our room and couldn't believe my eyes. These guys, who now advertise that ALL their offerings are $0.75 higher now due to costs, made an Italian Hoagie with ONE slice of provolone, ONE slice of ham and, you guessed it, ONE slice of salami. Arrived in Cape May and in search of a food place on a late Tuesday evening. Nothing was open except this place! lol It's more of a carry out, altho they have tables in which we dined in. I'm giving this two stars only for service which was great. I called and they delivered right to my hotel room quickly. That said, it's some of the worst pizza I've ever had. Gluten free crust was like a cracker and the mushrooms were canned. I pick led off the cheese and only ate that. The salad had wrinkled tomatoes, dry chicken and Ken's ranch dressing in a package. Although my husband and I have lived here a long time, we had never been to Blue Moon Pizza on Beach Dr. But this week, with our son, DIL, and two grandchildren visiting, we stopped in for slices of pizza for everyone. What a delightful experience! The pizza was great and the staff was very sweet. When the server overheard our granddaughter say she loved mushrooms, she went in the back and added lots of extra mushrooms. The owner then came out and gave the girls each a small scoop of ice cream because they finished their lunches. We will be going there again and again. Stopped in for a slice- I ordered the thin slice and hubby the Sicilian. They a accidentally brought us both a thin slice. The woman profusely apologized and brought him a thick slice of Sicilian. My family decided to stay in Cape May for a few days and because of covid we wanted to bring food back to our hotel. We found Blue Moon Pizza and realized they also are on grubhub which was a plus. I placed my order and within 20 minutes the food was ready. We order a peperoni pizza, chicken cheesesteak, buffalo chicken strips and Mozzarella sticks. We ordered the sausage pizza and Italian hoagie. The pie was all dough, light on sauce and cheese with sausage "pellets", not good. The Italian hoagie is really what was shameful. After a few days of watching the Blue Moon Pizza delivery car drive by our house, we decided to order pizza. Their menu was great- it had a huge selection of white pizzas, which is the preferred pizza of both me and my sister. Around 6pm we called for take out, and ordered 3 large pizzas- barbeque chicken white pizza, florentine white pizza (without the spinach, since they didn't have plain white pizza on their menu), and regular pizza with pepperoni and onion. They told us the order would be ready in 35 minutes. My optimistic brother-in-law decided it couldn't possibly take 35 minutes to fulfill our order, and headed over after about 20 minutes. He was right- our order was ready. He said the cashier didn't speak English that well, but he picked up the order with no issues. The pizza was hot and tasty- I loved the crust. They put spinach on half of the white pizza, which was the only mistake on our order, but we sucked it up and ate it anyway (wasn't bad!). The chicken BBQ pizza was quite good too. Three large pizzas will probably last the 5 of us for a dinner and 2-3 lunches. (They also had an XL pizza on their menu, which must be quite huge!). If you're in Cape May and feeling like a pizza night, give Blue Moon a try! read more
