I have to agree with Lili H. I would call this one a 3.5. My buddy felt like lunch and a cocktail today. He was buying so we slid on over to the Capri. It's a dive bar in Orange with what appears to be a very regular crowd. The waitress/bartender was on the salty hard side, but had a good sense of humor. The bar itself looks tired and in need of some love. I probably would not come back but for the shockingly good club sandwich they served up with a fresh salad and a side plate of piping hot fries. I might just have to swing back for a burger one day soon. read more

I'm not sure how I end up saying yes to going to random dive bars on a Friday night, but this is where it landed me recently. The crowd is well over the age of 55+ (at least on this night) I am pretty sure I was the youngest one there. Karaoke was sung by some rather endearing well tuned patrons. Strong drinks were served and good laughs were had. I ordered a Italian sandwich that was fresh and yummy. Not sure that I will ever be back, but there are definitely worse places to hang out. read more

Great food and open early :)

My wife and I came in just to get some monte Cristo sandwhiches. We had them through uber eats and decided to actually check the place out. We went on a sunday morning around 11 to noon. Kind of a mix of older crowd and younger crowd which we really enjoy. The food was really good and the service was great even though we were at a table and not directly at the bar. Great music and plenty of sports on the TVs. We had a couple of yummy cocktails as well. We have a strong feeling we will become regulars here. read more

I am not normally the type to complain, but after my visit to Capri Bar & Grill I had no choice. The brunette bartender was one of the rudest people I have ever been forced to meet in my entire life. I would not wish her company on my worst enemy. I am 23 years old, and I know the scene is somewhat older at this establishment, but I shouldn't be ridiculed during my entire visit by my waitress about how young I look. I have been here previously and it wasn't half bad, but after my encounter with the bartender this time I will never be back, and will encourage all my friends to do the same. I would give 5 stars but it was my first time going, but seems to be friendly and most bars do have locals, Our Bartender Emily was very attentive and service with a great smile! Good beer and only had Appetizers but the minute you deafly has some interesting dishes that I will definitely try in the future and the best part for me is it walking distance. A dive bar in Orange. Good food; Red Hook and Heifeweitzen on draft; waitresses all wear clothes (damn!); two pool tables; digital jukebox; Lee (the proprietor) is a good listener, and a horseman. Wendy is my favorite wench - she works Tues, Thurs, possibly Fri. The patrons range from pond scum to Joe Banker. God, I think there is Karaoke one night a week, but this rooskie won't stand for that. I can't vouch for the coffee, but they have a 3-bottle Jagermeister dispenser (for those that enjoy the taste of Robitussin). The hamburger is a killer; the fries are crisp and hot; $6.95 prime rib tacos on Tuesday; free specials during MNF; decent Sunday brunch; breakfast served from 6 AM. Incredible shrimp cocktail. Lee used to offer green-lip mussels with red/white sauce, but I'm not sure they are still available. Short menu, but they can cook up anything. Ribeye steak is a winner, with asparagus and fries - Goddam, I'm a-hungry... This place is a drunkard's dream. Don't dress up; there is no cover charge. Oh yeah, the joint can get a little smoky from the tobacco-rapped ashtrays, so be warned, oh ye of High Disdain. Smoker's have rights, too, my cully. read more

Honestly I feel this place isn't even worth one star. I had ordered off uber eats so I did not get to check the food at the place before paying. My steak I ordered medium and it came burnt. I immediately spit it out and so I called the manager to ask him if that's how it's prepared and he was rude and told me basically that it's my bad for ordering Uber eats. I stated Uber doesn't cook the food and he basically hung up. read more

Bukowski would love this place. He would have loved it more when you could smoke inside but the po-po recently rolled through on their bikes and handed out tickets to all the smokers and ended an era at one of the last smoke-filled bars in California in one fell swoop. So it goes. Lee, the owner, is an affable fellow. A knowledgable talker with an impressive array of opinions who is prone to quoting F. Scott Fitzgerald. Came in on the 4th of July so of course it was dead. To be honest the streets of Orange were rolled up tightly. Danny the bartendress suggested Schmirnoff, soda, cranberry on ice. Strong! I'll call it a Danny sipper. No gulping this down. Danny the bartendress was friendly and good with conversation. Now I've been here before and every dive bar has their regulars. As soon as this drunk guy started talking to me on the patio, I remembered his story and didn't want to hear it again. I excused myself and went back to the bar. As I sat there I remembered why I don't come more often. It's a real good ole boy's club kinda bar. I personally just don't feel all that comfortable. A guy next to me got the steak dinner and it smelled fantastic. It was priced right at 9or 10 bucks. I've eaten here before, its better than the fried fan fare you get at most bars. I should fit in nicely here at 52 yrs old, but I don't. Maybe its me. The drinks are a good bargain if you like a heavy handed bartender. But there are too many other places to check out to be hanging here. read more

The food is ok. The only reason I enjoy coming to this place is because it's never packed, has funny regulars, and never gets out of hand. The regulars here are pretty funny. We came here pretty late at night on a Sunday. A friend lives within walking distance of this place and they were kind enough to let us chill out well past closing time for a good hour+. I'm new to the area and ventured out late one night looking for a quick drink, stumbling across Capri on my journey. Entering in is your typical dive, and was pleasantly surprised with the warmness of the bartender and patrons. As others say mostly a 40+ hang out with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Drinks are dirt cheap and strong as hell. Haven't ventured to food but will keep you posted. Two pool tables, plenty of outdoor seating and terrible karaoke on the weekends :) read more

We were looking for a place to eat on Christmas Day before the movies. We knew it would be a challenge to find something open and with gluten free options but ventured out anyway. We tried the Marie Calendar's on Katella (they were open) but they only had a special menu for the day and all of the options had some sort of gluten product involved so we left. The Capri Bar and Grill across the street was open so we checked it out. It is more of a bar than a grill but a lady customer said that as long as our 11 year old didn't sit at the bar, we would be fine. We looked at the menu and ordered shrimp cocktail for the kid, grilled chicken sandwich (with no bread and no seasonings) with fruit, slices of avocado and tomato for me and fajitas for my husband. My son and I are gluten free and my husband tries to be as gluten free as possible. The shrimp cocktail my son had was very fresh, my dish was bland but clean with some great fruit and my husband really liked his and said the rice was delicious. The drinks were strong, the service was good and the place was clean. The clientele were mostly regulars (and older) and we could tell that things would get a lot more colorful and interesting as the day progressed into night. It would not be a regular choice for me to take my son after maybe 2pm and without my husband but would go maybe to meet people or hang out and play pool with friends. read more

I have been going to café capri for about 3 years now. I enjoy the reasonable food and drinks. Just about anything on the menu is good. The place is a bit worn, could use some updating. Nice people working there, kind of family like. Lots of regulars, most 50+ but they get all ages, young and old. read more

Great place to go eat and sing karaoke on weekends. The KJ GariAnn has the best sounding equipment to make you sound your best. Hayley is the best bartender in Orange County she's always on top of her game. They all will make you feel welcome when you come in. I give them five stars because I've been there several times. I can't review this place, just offering an observation. I used to go here when the sign was different and said CAFE CAPRI. It was a restaurant, very tasty, but not a bar. The son of the owner was always working, he was the ex-boyfriend of my friend's wife's sister (got that?!) and her whole family was a bunch of sickos! The only good thing they did was tell us about the place. On Sundays there was an all you can eat brunch of Italian food and salad, and boy was it good. We went there a lot. That must have been 19 or 20 years ago, how time flies. They much have sold out. I always hoped they were still around so I could get back there and enjoy that brunch! read more
