The Delicious Pastries
Dania A.

Did I just stumble upon a delicious cafe WITH wonderful customer service? That's become such a rarity these days, it's heartbreaking. I've passed by this place many times and always thought, one day I's try this cute place and today was the day. It's a quaint charming coffee shop with minimal indoor and outdoor seating but an absolutely plentiful menu. Immediately after walking in, I was greeted so warmly by the woman at the register who was more than happy to help when I asked her whether to order one drink over the other. I ended up getting the salted caramel macchiato and the chocolate croissant and I have no regrets. Everything was flavorful and high quality. There's this notion in my culture that when you're in good spirits, whatever you cook turns out delicious, and I think that's the vibe here. The staff all seemed not only cheerful but on good terms with each other, and it makes the ambience so much better. Will definitely be returning here whenever I need a break from homemade lattes.

What a great cafe. While I haven't been physically there, we ordered delivery from them for lunch on a friends wedding day while we were getting ready in her hotel. They included sweet notes wishing her a good day as well as a free pistachio muffin that was incredible!!!! The Cobb salad with ranch was great, and everyone enjoyed their food as well. Little things like sweet notes and a free treat are so appreciated, lovely, and reflect a great staff. Definitely makes me want to come back & support this place even more!

The sandwich i had was so delicious. Im sup surprised that this small spot has sush delicious food. I will be coming back again definitely.

Needed something light before heading to the cruise terminal. They offer a good variety of options for breakfast (and lunch) prices are reasonable.

Cute and quick little place for coffee and breakfast before heading out for the day. Breakfast was simple but good. Sweet girls working the front.

I really want to like this place since I live a few blocks away but my first two experiences here have not been the best. firstly the sandwiches are ok the bread is too thick and it can make the sandwiches really dry. on my second visit today i ordered an acai bowl and it was legit 75 percent sherbet and 25 percent everything else. if you're going to charge little italy prices at least make it worth it. just disappointing overall. I hope the owner reads this and makes slight changes

Such a good coffee spot. Everything tastes great, them sandwiches section are incredible, the vibe is chill, and the people who work here are really nice and friendly . I randomly stopped by once and now come back all the time.

Capri Cafe is a great casual spot right off the main drag of Little Italy. The cold brew and Turkish Coffee were both tasty and so was the quiche and sandwich. If you're looking for a late morning stop and are in Little Italy you should consider giving Capri Cafe a try.

Suite front

Capri Cafe has an address on W Ash St, but the ground level space actually faces India St in the southern end of the Little Italy neighborhood. The business is still in a soft opening phase. There were three small round tables out front on the sidewalk and the same number for inside seating. A couple of faux green walls were on opposite sides of the suite with neon signs mounted on the social media friendly backdrops. My visit occurred after I had already made some other nearby pit stops. Coffee, three smoothies, three acai bowls, and various baked goods and breakfast items were on the menu. The goal was to pick up a breakfast sandwich to take home and consume the next day. The Turkey Sausage Egg'witch was my choice which happened to be keto friendly. The sandwich was quite small and didn't fill up the takeout container in which it was placed. If you look at my photo, then you will see that charging $4.99 for this product was not a good value. The service from the worker was fine. While I can't vouch for the drinks or any other food, my brief experience at Capri Cafe only garnered a three star rating as there are plenty of higher quality choices on this street.

Avocado Toast with arugula, feta cheese, tomato and drizzle of balsamic. Coffee was cold brew with a shot of espresso. Amazing stuff. .

Very friendly staff and the food is great there. I had the avocado toast. Delicious. Definitely recommend this place.

Such a beautiful place. Great atmosphere, cute environment. A bit on the small side with only 3 tables, so plan accordingly. While their menu doesn't say, they do have a vanilla chai and a spice chai available which made me extremely happy. Good variety on the menu of pasty and small sandwiches. Looks like I caught them on their soft opening. If I didn't see it on the menu, I'd never know. Staff is friendly, courteous and very knowledgeable!

Capri Cafe is just getting underway and is under a soft opening. As a result, not all items that they intend to offer are available at the moment. I tried a few items, especially the coffee, which was really good. I had an Americano first, but when the owner, Emily, found out that I wanted a cortado, but wasn't on the menu, she came out from the back and whipped one up for me! I have to say, we'll done Emily for that delicous and smooth cortadito. For eat, I had the bacon and egg breakfast sandwich on a round croissant. It arrived piping hot and was very tasty. In addition, I had a scrumptious coconut doughnut filed with luscious custard and chocolate filled Bomboloni or Italian doughnut. They were both great, but that coconut doughnut was total bliss. It offered great texture and flavors. A must try. All of Capri's baked goods are from a local baker. They plan to have Acai bowls and more menu items coming soon. The service is super friendly and inviting. They plan to offer inside and outside seating. I look forward to returning.

The happy hour and the vibes are immaculate!…read more A few months ago, I went here with my boyfriend, sisters and brothers in law for my going away dinner. I am so sad because I can't remember the name of our waitress! She was amazing because she was so ON POINT with everything -- from knowing the details of each menu item, to knowing what "medium+" is for a steak. She was attentive and amazing and shoutout to her! The food and tiny 'tinis were delicious! The steak and fries were such a good deal for $25. I could've eaten two of them, and now that I'm writing this months later, I'm thinking about that meal again. There is also a spot where the live musician plays, which is awesome! When I'm in San Diego, I have to come back.

Once seated, though, we sat for about 20 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. I eventually had to flag someone down just to get water. We then waited even longer for our server to take our order. Because service was so slow, I ordered all of our drinks and food at once since I wasn't sure when we'd see our server again. What stood out even more was watching a couple seated next to us receive immediate attention. They were greeted, served water right away, and the woman was offered a purse hook. Meanwhile, we were sitting there with our purses shoved beside us and weren't offered the same courtesy. It may seem like a small detail, but combined with the lack of attention, it made us feel overlooked. The drinks came out quickly, and the chicken satay and mac and cheese were decent. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out food-wise either. The highlight of the evening was definitely the live music. The performers were fantastic and created a great atmosphere that honestly was the only enjoyable part of the evening.

It's got the decor, chairs, and art to match. Jessica was our server and she was amazing! She gave us lots of suggestions on what to try and what is on the menu since it was my first time here. She recommended the bloody Mary flight so did grab that to try! We also ordered the biscuits and gravy to share and orange juice. The portions are so large! So I am glad we decided to share the biscuits and gravy but let me run down each thing. Bloody Mary Flight: Honestly every single one was amazing. My favorite was definitely the pickle Mary! Everything tasted so delicious and was garnished beautifully. Well worth the 22 dollars. Biscuits and Gravy: Absolute perfection of comfort food. The biscuits were so fluffy and well seasoned. The gravy was also soooo good, just like my mom makes. The sausage in it was also cooked so well and juicy. I've never tried mashed potatoes with the biscuits and gravy but it worked very well! Orange Juice: Not a fan really, not pulpy enough and I wasn't a fan of the flavor. Overall this is definitely a must visit! I will definitely be back.

Our server Ulises was great which he immediately greeted us and was very attentive even with the Father's Day crowd. I decided to try the rib and eggs and I have to admit, I was very happy with my choice. The ribs were lightly sauced with a thin sauce that worked well. The meat was tender and had great flavor. I just didn't like the grass they put on top!lol The eggs were okay. I added cheese but I barely had any compared to my friends. The cantaloupe was a nice sweet treat afterwards. I tried my friend's meal and they were also good which they also enjoyed their meals overall. I also tried a one of the Bloody Mary flights which was the only tequila shot with pork skin on top. I do not like savory and spicy drinks but that particular shot was decent and was hot sauce for the pork skin. Overall, the experience was nice and the food was good especially for the value.

The entire dining area was filled almost exclusively with white customers, while the visible staff roles felt very segmented in a way that didn't sit right. Here's the puzzle: look around the room, look at who is being seen, look at who is serving, look at who is clearing... and then ask yourself why the only person worth looking at wasn't even part of the experience they're trying to sell. Between the atmosphere, the food quality, and that underlying vibe, it's not somewhere I'd go back to.
