I was walking around downtown and happened to stumble upon this spot, which was a nice surprise. The cashier mentioned they have been open for about six months, so it still feels like a relatively new addition to the area. The dessert display was really eye catching, and everything was arranged in a way that made you want to try a little of everything. It had a relaxed, casual vibe that works well whether you are just grabbing something to go or sitting down for a quick treat. I ordered the Napoleon for $7.99, although it was honestly hard to choose because all of the desserts looked so tempting and beautifully presented. That said, I personally was not a fan of their version of the Napoleon. I was expecting a more traditional take, but theirs had a caramel element I believe that changed the flavor profile quite a bit. It was not bad, just different from what I had in mind. Overall, I would still be open to coming back. The ambiance and presentation alone make it worth another visit, and I would love to try some of their other desserts next time. read more

It had all the elements of a great cinnamon roll, minus the cinnamon, but with a terrific pistachio cream and bits of fresh pistachio as well. It was a great pistachio roll. The cortado was well made with a robust coffee flavor and smooth to drink. They offer a variety of house baked pastries, baked goods, and sourdough bread, not to mention breakfast and lunch. I finally decided to give Shoreside a try. I want to begin with how friendly and helpful the staff is. They answered all the questions I had and shared a little about their story. It was really cool to hear their story. I decided to try a sandwhich and crepe; neither disappointed! Both were delicious. The only thing I would chance would be the quality of bananas. They have the viral fruit shaped desserts! That's honestly probably what's most exciting about this bakery. The ambiance and decor are cute. There is not much seating, but I normally take my pastries to go anyways. I have tried the mango, the coconut, the pistachio, the eclair and the chocolate honeycake. The mango is the best from the fruits I've tried so far. I've gotten it twice. I found the pistachio shaped dessert to be too sweet and it did not taste like pistachio to me. It had some sort of red berry compote inside. I would pass on the eclair and don't get any of the honeycakes unless you like honey because the honey taste is definitely there. I would come back for more fruit shaped desserts. They are a bit pricey at $13 (for the mango). Prices vary for each fruit shape, but the mango was definitely worth it to try at least once in your life. read more

What a great spot, my first time here and every time since has been incredible. If you're lucky enough to have Edward help you it adds even more to the experience. He is so helpful and has such a good energy it is half the reason I keep coming back. To be honest every person I've interacted with has been great but he is above and beyond. I have season tickets to the symphony in the afternoon and usually arrive downtown quite early. It's become my routine to stop in here and get an americano and a slice of something. The atmosphere is lovely and the service is always kind and prompt. I order to eat there and they give you the nicest mug and tableware I've had at a small cafe. I've tried the honey cake (fantastic!!) and most recently the mango cheesecake. The cheesecake itself was just fine but the fruit gel on top was texturally off to me and very bland. I was excepting a punch of flavor, it being named mango passion fruit and all. But it had almost no flavor aside from the coconut sprinkles. The coffee is always good! I think I missed the mark in ordering the cheesecake. I'll continue to go as it's just around the corner from the symphony hall and is actually open on Sunday afternoons unlike a lot of places downtown. I haven't tried their breads but they look phenomenal and they even sell sourdough starter! I've not eaten any of their savory foods but they also offer sandwiches and such if you're wanting lunch.
