I've only had their pastrami sandwich and it's one of the best things I've eaten. You get to watch them stack meat on top of meat, so the price is decent. The only issue I have is the extremely long lines that can take up to 30 minutes, but that isn't really their fault. read more

This is my favorite deli. I normally order the roast beef sandwich, and it is delicious. They don't hold back on meats or extras. To add to this, the service is always awesome, and the decor is quirky, giving this place a unique ambience. Although I'm not a big fan of soda, I cant help but appreciate their selection both in the cooler and in the store section, especially because it gives me something to look at while I'm in line during busy hours. i've gotta say, if this is the best that Covina has to offer, then i feel bad for the people who live there. although i too was impressed by the drink selection and the large variety of root beers, the food was just ok. i ordered the cold cut combo. i don't know why YOU have to ask THEM for mustard and mayo. shouldn't it be the other way around with them asking you? and why do they drench the bread with that oil? isn't that supposed to go on the lettuce and tomatoes? should i come around to the other side of the counter to show you how? i don't have anything against it, i just don't understand their reasoning. what killed my impression of this sandwich was primarily the bread. it was cold, borderline too chewy, and pretty much flavorless. this was my follow up lunch to a roasted pork sandwich on flaky, crusty french bread at Porto's, so the thought of that bread was still lingering in my mind. in summary, my first sandwich experience at Capri Deli was of a typical sandwich, and not really a memorable experience at all. i think i'll have to give the pasta or pizza a chance if i do go again. although i want to go back to peruse the drink case again. read more

I go specifically for a large pastrami sandwich. Every time I've gone it's been amazing! Once they gave it to me dry, so from now on I always make sure they dip my bread so it won't be too dry. I see a lot of negative comments about customer service, and a friend of mine told me he and his family went there once and were treated poorly. Tasty, tasty!! Capri has got a great little market where you can pick up some really nice Italian meats, cheeses, and other goodies. But the deli is probably the main draw at Capri. They serve the Italian deli staples like pizza and subs, but the freshness of ingredients and overall quality make it exemplary. The pizza is great, nice, crispy crust. In terms of sandwiches, a small size will more than suffice for the average appetite; the pastrami is good, as is the beef dip, but the meatball is awesome!! Eat here and eat often! read more

I really like this place it reminds me of a deli I used to eat at in the bay area. Lots of yummy things to buy (maybe next time). I tried the pastrami sandwich with mustard which I loved! Finally got a chance to try their pastrami and meatball sandwich and it is really good. The pastrami was really juicy and tender. Oh and u have to try their root beer served in a freeze mug, it perfect with the sandwich. Much more delicious then the hat. read more

I've known of this place for a while and friends have recommended it, but a few weeks ago was the first time I'd ever been here. I stopped on the way home from work to get myself something for a solo dinner. I liked the ambiance and over all feel for the place the moment I walked in. Very friendly people, interesting Italian deli brands and unique products, specialty sodes etc. I had no idea what I wanted to eat and when the gal behind counter asked what I wanted I told her I had no idea. She recommended the meatball sandwhich and I said "OK meatball sandwhich it is" [frankly, with those eyes and that smile she could have said used motor oil soup and I would have agreed] I must admit it was a tasty sandwhich, also very filling and moderate prices. I went in and I always have a good experience. This time was not good at all. There was only 2 customers that were being helped at the sandwich counter and me. So I waited for the lady to be done with the other customer so it will be my turn. While inwas waiting more people came in and crowded behind the people at the sandwich counter. The lady looked at me and asked if I had a mobile order I said no then told me to go stand in line with the rest of the crowd then walked away. Not asking if I was next in line or anything. I looked at the crowd some not wearing mask and standing next to each other. We are currently in social distancing and they have nothing set up for it and to many people in the building when I left. I didn't want to be standing shoulder to shoulder in a large crowd when some are even wearing mask which is the law now. Will wait to go back until they have social distancing set up. read more

Oh how I love Capris! I always feel at home there and I have never been let down by their service. I love looking at all their old posters and vintage items. 3.5 stars really. I went here based on reviews- drove a mile out of the way to try. It was worth it, but I wasn't blown away nor did I suddenly feel like I was at some East Coast deli like I did(do) with Claro's. That being said, portions are very large- I ate too much- and fairly priced. Everything looks nice and fresh- service was polite and quick. Beef dip was a little chewy for me but bread and au jus were very good. I would like to come back and try as sausage sandwich or some sort of deli trio. My wife and I were going to go to the Covina Sunrise Rotary Rock n' Roll Party, But the parking was really Bad, They wanted us to use the Metro rail's station for parking. I have been coming here since I was a kid. Best sandwiches in town! But you should also try other things on the menu, from pizza to ravioli, you can not beat this place. Subway is garbage compared to the capri deli. They have so many drinks to choose from, beers to old time sodas in glass bottles you wont see anywhere else. The staff is friendly and many have been working there for years. If you come around lunch time be prepared to wait, and find the end of the line, it can sometimes snake in odd directions but find it! This place is worth the wait. We were driving around with no plan this past Sunday and was a little bit hungry. Saw that this place has a good review and we checked it out. I like a good meatball sandwich and Capri has one of those. Their meatball was homemade and huge. Their bread is so soft and when their topped it off with Chese and marinara sauce, I was a goner. We also tried the Spaghetti Salad and that was surprisingly good. If we knew they sell pizza, we would've tried their Pizza. The service was fast, although this place is small, but it is enough.
